Dollmaking is fun.

littl3chocobo 09-18-2019 11:55 PM

it can be, yeah ^^ of course i've only made tiny 1/20th scale dolls but even so

how is yours coming?

Den 09-19-2019 12:49 AM

the head is getting there. I have to stop occasionally to pop my knuckles and stretch my hands, because I'm working with tiny needles and my hands start hurting after awhile.

littl3chocobo 09-19-2019 01:02 AM

what is the gauge?

Den 09-19-2019 01:11 AM

I'm using US 2 needles, with Red Heart Super Saver.

littl3chocobo 09-19-2019 01:15 AM

ah, thankyou

Den 09-19-2019 01:21 AM

to be fair, I've worked with smaller gauge needles and thinner yarn before, and with bigger needles and thicker yarn, and have had to do the same thing with breaks and popping knuckles and stretching my hands. Same with when I draw.

littl3chocobo 09-19-2019 01:22 AM

well of course, it is the same motion even if it isn't always the same speed to completion

Den 09-19-2019 01:23 AM

Yeah. that's why it's important to take breaks.

littl3chocobo 09-19-2019 01:24 AM

noone needs cramps X''D

Den 09-19-2019 01:46 AM

or carpel tunnel flareups.

littl3chocobo 09-19-2019 01:54 AM

or crab hands(unless you are like a crab or sommat. then crab hands work)

Den 09-19-2019 02:20 AM

only thing I don't like about this pattern is that it utilizes the "Big Head, Small Body" look for dolls, which I'm not terribly fond of... but that's a personal preference

littl3chocobo 09-19-2019 02:23 AM

well, is it too late to adjust the stitches?

Den 09-19-2019 02:47 AM

that'd involve a lot of undoing and I don't feel like it.
