Elvara smiled as the kiss ended and he made his little comment "Oh yes I would be bored..." She said with a nod of her head "But at the same time I might beable to keep my sanity longer" With that she leaned up and kissed him before he spoke to retaliate "Besides...your entertaining" Elvara was playing a little game...anything to keep her mind off of what was to come and so far it was working.
|
"aw.. I'm not that bad.. you still seem sane after all of the traveling we've done." sure he knew she was teasing but still. It was nice to see her relaxing a little anything was better then nothing. "oh really?" He smirked a little before moving to get her to lap back against the bed. "well your entertainment says you need rest for tomorrow, we don't need both of us being only able to throw rocks now do we?"
|
Elvara smiled at that and she gave a little nod of her head "But you see...there is only one problem I have..." Elvara then reached up and traveled light barely there fingers over an exposed collar bone "Im not sleepy" She said in a little whimper of a voice. But just as Zek was about to move or say something she cut him off with a teasing smile and voice "But I suppose your right" With that she turned he back towards him trying her hardest to keep in the little giggle she had building in the back of her throat.
|
He shook his head a little, minx.. was the first thought that came to his mind. Though he never bothered to say it. After she moved to have her back towards him he sighed a little. He moved to lay down next to her pulling her back against his chest. It was rather funny to him, she talked about this could be the last night and she wanted to tease. Not that either of them were probably in the mind set to do anything further. Probably for once in his life he had to admit he didn't see the outcome of tomorrow going well for him. Though her mission would get done in some form or another.
|
Elvara smiled as she felt the warm and strong arms pull her back into an even warmer and stronger chest. She loved to tease the male behind her it was something that she had growen fond of. As Elvaras back met his chest she gave a little smile and wrapped her arms around his that now settled on her stomach. In truth she didnt want to do anything tonight but she knew if she teased she would get exactly what she wanted. In the end she cuddled into the chest with a little sigh as sleep met her.
|
After she seemed to calm down he tried to get some rest as well. Though it was little and far between. Whatever happened he needed to make sure she got out of the other realm alive and with the item. Though she was probably going to be more then pissed at him after she found out what would probably happen if they both left that realm.. well at least to him anyway. Odds were even if they both made it out the ritual to seal the gates would kill him in the process.
|
In the early morning she was up. Carefull as to not wake the other she was up and out of the bed. Getting dressed and grabbing the things that she needed she left the room in silence. She had everything that she needed and she double checked before she left. Elvara then proceeded to go to the stables where an already dressed horse was ready and waiting. Mounting it she looked to the servent that now passed her the reins "Give my father a message. Tell him my quest ends today" With that she lashed at the horses reins and galloped into the distance and out of the stable.
Elvara had a dream last night and one that freaked her out. In her dream she lost the people she most cared for...thats when it turned into a nightmare. So it was her choice to leave by herself and grab the last relic needed to close the gate behind her as she left. It was a long trip to the other side of the island but as she got closer to the deamon gate she noticed the change of greenary around her. Every living thing the closer you got died. It was as simple as that though Elvara knew that she needed to do this. Stopping when the horse would no longer stay in controle Elvara had just enough time to grabb what she needed off the horse before it kneed and ran in the other direction. "Seems im walking from here" She said to herself as she turned and began the tred up the side of the hill. Once at the top of the hill Elvara all but gasped at the sight before her. What she asumed to be an actual gate was indeed just a rip in the very fabric design of her island. There was no pillars holding massive doors like she thought. Instead a gash of swirling dark magics lay before her. At the bottom of the hill when she reached it were gaurds from her kingdom stationed to keep watch over the tare. "Report" Was all Elvara said as she stood there infront of a shocked man "Speek!" She barked and almost smiled as the man before her began to stutter and tell her everything that he knew of the gate. With a nod of her head she smiled 'Well...it seems at last we meet" She said looking to the gate "Alright...keep watch...the end of my quest awaits" And with that she walked towards the ripp. Pausing a second with a sad smile she entered the rip, the black swirls of magic wrapping cold arms around her as she kept forward. |
Normally he wasn't one to sleep heavily but in this case something seemed to keep his mind in it's state of resting. He knew very well what it was, though fighting with it was easier said then done. There were a number of threats on this island in just the air itself that he never voiced to Elvara. Probably at least a few hours later when he finally woke up he groaned a little holing his head. Any thought process hurt though something felt.. out of place at best.
Elvara not being in the bed was nothing he was surprised about in truth, this was her home after all he figured she was probably around the castle somewhere or with her father in the event something went wrong. Though this was hardly the case, sooner or later he would find out that she had left him behind and that she had foolishly entered the demonic gate by herself. After he woke up a bit more he was going to just step away from the room to seek out Elvara, though something at the back of his mind kept laughing at him almost. As if something was ever so wrong and he had no idea at the present time. Once outside of the room he walked down the hall and went about asking if any of the present guards or servants knew of her whereabouts. They had changed shifts by this time so of course not. Giving up on getting his answer he went to check outside of the castle as a guard paused a moment before speaking to him. "Back already?" Zek looked at him rather oddly with this question. "Back? I never... " He paused a moment before grabbing the guards collar and asking him his next question. "Elvara! She left?" The guard nodded weakly before Zek released him and seemed to step back a little before muttering a few things under his breath. 'Idiot... what the hell dose she think she's doing' He shook his head a little before storming past the guard and down the path, he just needed enough space to do what he needed to do. By now she had probably made it to the portal if not entered it by this now. He just needed enough space to make a small rip to get into the realm itself. From there he should be able to track her down, if she wasn't already captured or worse. All the while he cursed under his breath as he rushed to get to a clearing so he wouldn't disrupt anything in the area. "Stupid girl! What did she thing she was doing?" She might have thought it was smart or she was protecting the people she cared about but she probably just bit off more then she could chew. After he made it to a clear area he paused as he winced from the sudden headache again. The same voice from before laughing as if it were taunting him. It would be a matter of time before he found this voice in person, the owner of this voice was currently stalking Elvara as she made her way through hell itself. Though this voice had plans.. the girl was just a bonus to them in the fact she was foolish enough to venture here alone. First he would test her to see how strong she was with waves of his minions.. he knew that Zek would need time to prepare the rip to enter this realm. Though he also could tell there was a new found weakness in the said half blood... one he very much so wanted to use against him. |
Elvara groaned as she became slowly aware of her surroundings. Slowly she began to get a feel for everything around her. Thats when she noticed the hard floor under her left cheek, the bind around her writs that seemed to be bond behind her back. Her legs were free however which she found a little weird. Moving Elvara groaned as she sat up and blinked the blurrieness from her green eyes.
Looking around she realized that she was in a cell. Bars before her and stone walls all around...she had been captured. Taking a deep breath she thought of the moments before this one. She remembered entering the protal, walking through desolate waste lands then...Elvara gasped. The voice...a voice rang to her in the darkness "Awww worthless human.." It sang "Shall we see just what your made of" Elvara cringed at her own thoughts. Then her eyes opened "Deamons..." she whispered to herself as she thought on it more. Hoards and hoards of them, the waves were never ending. The last cut she rembered she plowed through 52 lesser deamons then...darkness. Thats when the pain in her body made itself knowen. Her left leg throbed from a fractured bone and her head hurt from the blow that knocked her out. "So your awake..." Elvara stiffened at the silky voice. Looking up to the doors of her cell she saw a shadowy figure though the face was hidden from darkness "And who the hell are you?" She asked and got what she thought was a smirk combined with the grunt that reached her ears "That my dear is the thing I ask of you....what is a female drow doing in a place like this?" Elvara hissed as she moved a little to straighten her form making herself as nobel as she could "I am Elvara, princess-" there was a laugh that cut her off "Princess....my dear you are no more a princess then the dirt on my feet" Elvara gasped "Intime...you will see a true nobel family...and the one that protects you will bring them upon you like locus to feilds" With that the figure laughed and backed away leaving Elvara to think of his words. |
It took a lot of energy to call forth a rip to enter into the demonic realm but he didn't have the time to run all the way to the main portal. Right as he finished his summoning the same voice that was laughing from before seemed to ring in his ears. Taunting him just as before saying that if he entered he would be lost. Riddles the lot of it, this damned being never showing its face and speaking in riddles!
He didn't have a choice he already knew the vast armies that lay in the realm of the demons .. and that they were controlled and listened to every beck and call of their master. He'd have to watch himself he knew very well his own blood could go against him when he stepped foot into this place, and it seemed he was already being watched.. that bothered him more. If he knew of the threat that the shadowed one had given to Elvara he might have seconded guessed this plan of his. Though he knew for a fact she was in danger, there was no way she wasn't in danger even for someone of her skill numbers would eventually win. Shaking his head to get the voice that was still ringing in his ears to go away he touched the rip before him and vanished from sight as well a the small portal that he had made. Once on the other side he winced a bit trying to gain his ground as he quickly noticed the change in energy level that coursed through his body. "shit... if I stay here too long.." He breathed out a moment regaining himself a little before he started to walk anywhere. It was odd though.. he expected to have to deal with swarms of beasts as soon as he entered... though oddly the few things he saw move seemed to keep their distance from him. Something was wrong, he knew this. Even with his blood line he knew that lesser ranked demons didn't respect a half blood. He;d worry about what the hell was going on later. He needed to find Elvara and he had a damn good idea of who had her.. though he wanted to be wrong. If he was right then she was in danger in more then just a physical way... though knowing how demons were if she was captured he already expected her to have no clothing on, if not chained to a wall ... sadly that wasn't the worse of his thoughts as to what the hell they'd do to her with her being mortal. |
Elvara huffed and groaned hard as her hands were thrusted into the cuffs above her head. Every time was the same thing. They would come in remove her from her cell and take her to an areana forcing her to fight lesser and greater deamons. Leaving her in the middle they gave her one object, usualy a small dagger or knife. On times she was lucky to get a mace or a dull sword. She was greatfull that they healed her before each time though. Other wise what fun would they have?
Elvars clothes were toren and wripped revealing more in some places then she cared to say. Her head was hung and her breathing was heavy "You know my knew toy I have a treat for you" A voice rang out from the darkness and she hissed "I want nothing from you but my freedum of death" Elvara knew she was going to die here it was just a matter of time. This was when she heard the door infront of her open and Elvara had just enough time to gasp as her head was ripped up by her dirty blood stained hair "You will watch what you say....besides" The voice hissed "We all want to see how the final show will be" He said. Elvara didnt have time to ask what he had ment by that when she felt something cold clasp around her neck "What the-" Darkness was her answer. |
The whole way was silent, almost dead. The few things that even dared to get close seemed to be higher ranked demons, though they still didn't dare to get within striking range. He paused a moment feeling a odd aura before growling just slightly and picking up his pace. He'd run but he couldn't afford to waste the energy. After a while longer he came to a large set of gates. Of course there was a damned keeper of them.
His ears went back as he was more then annoyed knowing that the area being this empty meant they had to have Elvara. "Password..." the oversized demon hissed out towards Zek. "Tsk, fuck your password! Step aside, thats your only and final warning." Zek seemed more then serious as the voice in his head seemed to taunt him once more saying that the girl was a pretty catch, finally confirming his fears from before. The guard seemed to laugh and started to say something else though Zek didn't let him as his eyes instantly switched to the blood red color they held when he was beyond pissed. Extending his hand forward a pillar of black fire seemed to engulf the being before him. "I waned you to move, you should listen." The guard wasn't among the highest rank, though most weren't insane enough to want to break into what seemed to be the central hub for the demon that controlled this realm, or at least it looked like it. Either way he knew Elvara was here, somewhere. He also knew she was probably worse for wear. Though he wasn't about to turn back now.. "Keep your damn laughing... i'll be sure to rip that smirk off your face." He said aloud as the voice chuckled in his head again. He knew that he might not win the fight but still.. he needed to win. Elvara had to finish her quest. Everything else was unimportant. |
Elvara was in trouble. More so now then what she was in before. Opening her eyes Elvara found herself once again in the arena with cheering deamons all around her. Then the voice from the darkness rang out again "Ladies and gents of all sizes...welcome to the final play" The cheers grew and Elvara looked around. That is when she noticed her clothes had been replaced with all to thin of material. It wrapped around her chest to fall off to one side cascading down in a waterfall of fabric. Tied black cloth shoes and armlets led down to two small sheilds on each wrist.
This is when she noticed the daggers attached to her legs, the axe to her side and the sword on her back. She had all her weapons back but...what was the meaning of this. Elvara then felt a pain in the back of her neck and hunched over in pain "Now for the bonus!" The voice rang out again. This was the first time that Elvara noticed the feel of heavy mettle on her neck. Elvara screamed out in pain before her eyes dulled and she stood. \Whats going on?' She thought as she reached behind her and pulled out her sword with her right hand before she grabbed two of the daggers in her left 'How is this happening?!' Elvara screamed out in her mind. None of the movements she made did she want to. It seemed the necklace controled her every movement. 'Why what the reason for this...' Though she got her answer as the large double doors before her opened and she took a step forward, and another, before she knew it she was running. 'NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!' Elvara screamed out in her mind as she realized what or who she was running at...it was Zek. It would seem that the doors to the colisum had been invaded by one man. Behind her Elvara heard "Let the match begin!!!" Before the crowd roared and she raised and brought the sword down to a shocked face of Zek. |
His eyes were still blood red in color as he noticed Elvara. "Tsk... coward!" He barked before grabbing the blade with one hand stopping it's full blow without flinching at all. "If your going to force me to fight then use someone who isn't defeated already" His eyes narrowed a bit before forcing the blade from Elvara's hands and tossing it into the ground as it stuck there.
Of course this didn't stop the mind controlled girl, she was still trying to lash out with the daggers in her other hand and then after failing with those she quickly went about trying to use the axe as well. Disarming her seemed to be almost nothing to Zek as he grabbed the collar and held her by it for a moment. "Rather surprised, I thought you were going to force my own father to fight me. No instead you try to make a mortal do it?" He shook his head a little before forcing Elvara against a wall as a black chain connected the collar to the wall. "Even you should know that such a thing wouldn't work...." All the times she had seen Zek fight he never once showed any of these powers, yet he just disarmed her of 4 weapons and forced her into submission, well submission as far as the collar would let her anyway. |
Elvara's body jerked and pulled against the chain until finaly she stopped all movements. Rasiing a hand she muttered in her native tongue. This is when the shadow chain around her neck melted and changed to that of a snake that coiled down her neck to reach out and hiss at Zek. This is when the voice from the darkness rang out again "Oh my....how is it you guessed the final event before its even upon us?" The voice said "The woman is just for fun"
With that Elvara screamed before falling to her knees hands holding eather side of her head "You maybe no match for a mortal...what of a deamon..." The voice said again only to laugh as Elvara stood. Though she was not the same. Curled black horns wrapped down and around her pointed ears to rest upon dark cheeks. Long finger nails grew to sharp points and once green eyes bled red "Stage two" The voice rang and the crowd cheered as she charged all the while her screams reached deaf ears. |
"Guess? tsk you used the same damn tricks on my father. How the hell were they hard to guess?" He seemed past annoyed at this point. "Stop with the damned tricks and fight me!" He growled, though it didn't get him the answer he wished it had gotten him. No instead it caused him to follow the noise behind him as he noticed Elvara again. He didn't want to fight her, no matter what he did to her, she was still Elvara inside. This idiot was trying to force him to kill her and he knew it.
When she charged forward he closed his eyes for a second before opening them again as a flaming wall disrupted her charge forward. Even in her controlled state she wasn't blind enough to walk through fire. "So the demon princes have fallen this far? They don't even want to kill the half blood that is tainting their family tree?" He laughed a little he needed to find a way to get this damned demon to come out and fight him, and then save Elvara at the same time. "oh how the mighty have fallen..." He chuckled a little before avoiding a swift attack from Elvara only to show his true form in the same breath. His skin was the same though it was covered in red markings and symbols. The horns she had seen so long ago for a brief second were fully visible now and his eyes remained crimson red. At the same time his aura seemed to bypass anything she had probably felt from him before as he stopped holding back any of of his powers. He needed a plan, anything would do. But he couldn't break the control over her, even with this power that he finally allowed to show he couldn't. But maybe he could buy enough time till the other got bored and finally decided to show himself. just to weaken the other enough would set Elvara free, she could go finish her quest. |
"Oh how we have fallen he says" The voice once again rang out before a male took a step out from the shadows. He had short white hair that stood up and pointed to the tip. Two curled golden horns hung from his temples and bright red eyes looked at Zek with a glint of mirth. "I must say....your feelings for this mortal is amusing" As he spoke he reached forward to wrap a silky pale hand around the neck of Elvara that now stood before him.
Smiling the deamon moved his head forward resting his chin on Elvaras right shoulder peering out at Zek before him "Oh how this worl works" The male said with a smile "She comes all this way to find one thing...I give it to her and this is the thanks you give me?" He said as his fingers brushed the collar around her neck. |
He clenched his teeth a little seeing the other so close to her, let alone her very life was pretty much in his palm. "Something you'll never know.. " He hissed at the other's words when he said feelings were amusing or the ones he had for this girl. He never let his eyes leave the demon standing behind Elvara, he wanted her away from him. To damn if she was controlled or not anything was safer with her away from him.
"Tsk..if she has what she wants let her leave... you seem to think that demons can control everything. You and I both know thats not true." The other seemed amused by this little 'chat' "You should know better then anyone a demons sole purpose is to become stronger, to prove that they are the strongest being.. demons were only created in this world to counter balance the angelic creatures." This was all true, if you went and followed the lore they had no purpose aside to cause the mortal realm trouble, sometimes thinning the numbers and then the angelics would descend and fix things once more. "Leave her out of this and fight me!" He growled at him taking a step forward, but he stopped himself at that knowing he was in no position to push his luck. "You want think your so damn powerful, then lets see it. While we're at it release her and let her go back to her realm.... " He smirked a little noticing the others glare change a little. "Oh wait you know what will happen then... she'll have all three relics, any demons on the surface world will be destroyed and this will in turn have a effect on the power down here as well." "Legends say that the power will shift in balance and that the royal line will fall. Are you scared of that?" He laughed a little knowing if he talked enough the other would lash out at him, he might not release Elvara right away but it'd get her at least out of the fight for a short while. Though he just said a few things that would cause Elvara to second guess her using the relics. But as far as she knew he could have just been bluffing. If she asked him he'd say he was bluffing. Even if it were all true. |
The male stopped for a second the smirk upon his lips slowly decending and turning into a stern line "I will let her go..." He said though the corners of his lips turned up once more "Oh yes...I will let her go" With that he moved his arm forward his right claws gouging through her chest. Elvaras eyes widened a little as a light cough sprung forth with a little splatter of blood.
"...zek..." was the only thing that left Elvara's lips as she fell forward. Nothing was herd within the arena but the thunk of her body hitting the dusty ground before them. The male raised his hand and licked the dark crimson blood from his hand with a sinister smile "There...I let her go" |
He didn't move at first, he should have seen that coming. Fuck thinking things could be done like they could in the mortal realm. Though this was all it took to push him over the edge, it was probably better Elvara was out or mostly out of it for this as his eyes switched in color to black and the aura that was normally not visible made itself known. "You'll regret each day you breath...." Seeing as he couldn't kill the prince he knew of other methods to make the other pay for what he had done, but it needed to be done quickly.
Vanishing a second he appeared in front of the other before grabbing his throat and holding it there as the claws on his hand extended and a second set of horns appeared. "Did you forget what blood line I am from? You might be a damned pure blood, but your also weak compared to most of the royal line. Being so far away from the kings true blood.. how does it feel?" The other went to strike and do some sort of spell to Zek though nothing seemed to phase him at the present moment. "Y-your ... just a half-" He didn't let the prince finish that sentence. "Your lucky I can't kill you... I swear I would find the most painful way to do so right before displaying your corpse." He growled his words as his hand tightened on the others neck. All of the markings that were along his arms and face glowed by this point as he hissed out a few more words. "You'll get to enjoy this pain for the rest of eternity.. no one here will save you." He smirked a little before vanishing again with the prince he was holding. Appearing near a wall he slammed the others body into it before moving back a foot as he raised a hand towards him and hissed out a few words in a demonic tongue. black bindings seemed to appear strapping every possible moving part of the prince's body to the wall. "don't bother trying to fight it, it's a ability that you'll never have... they are called the shackles of the damned. Their purpose is to lock away demons for eternity.. though seeing as your immortal it'll just rip your very soul apart every time it reattached to your body." He never bothered to listen to the others words as he left him there, that was plenty good enough. The bindings over all were to banish demons but in a place where demons can't die... yeah this was as good as he could do. Walking over to Elvara he moved her gently before pulling her close to him after he had knelt down to her. "idiot.. what were you thinking? What if I didn't find you.. " It was rather odd seeing Zek look hurt about such a thing but he had failed to do the one thing he said he'd do and that was protect her. Though being in this realm had a advantage as he moved to place a hand over where the gash through her chest was. His eyes weren't the solid black anymore, though they did retain the red color instead of returning to the blue they were normally. "Please.." He muttered under his breath knowing it was a long shot to try and heal her, but his powers were a lot stronger then they were in their normal realm. After a moment a soft light started to glow from his hand and seemed to seep into her wounded chest. He could use all of his energy so long as he left enough to get them out of here, he just needed to heal the majority of the gash.. she just needed to live and he didn't even know if this would work or if she were alive still. |
Elvara's mind was lost in a world of darkness though the moment she heard a soft voice ring out she struggled to break free from her own chains, though something was preventing this. Was she dying? All she really remembered was a pain in her chest then darkness. Now the more she thought of it the pain in her chest was slowly being replaced with warmth.
Slowly Elvara blinked blurred eyes to half mass. Seeing Zek before her she smiled softly. Not wanting to speak she moved her head lightly to turn it the rest of the way to face in his chest. As soon as he head moved she was out again but still breathing and alive. |
She was alive at the least, even if she needed rest he hardly cared. They had what they had ventured all this way for so what did it matter. After a few more moments he made sure the wound was sealed up and any major damage was healed. Everything else could take its time in healing. Moving a little he stood and let her lay on the ground as he went about what he did before to summon a small portal to get them out of here, sure he could walk all the way to the gate but this would put them closer to the castle so she could rest.
After he was finished with calling forth the portal he moved to pick her up gentle and stepped through it. It closed just like the other though he was lucky there was a tree near them as he stumbled a little and leaned against it. The amount of energy her had used made itself known then and there. Regaining himself a little he moved to start walking again and towards the castle. Though the guards that met them at the gate quickly showed the way to the medical wing so she could be further checked out. After she was on a bed and a few healers were tending to her he was finally allowed to breath a little easier. Though this was short lived as Vaden seemed to come from no where, word had gotten to the king and it seemed Vaden was talking with him at the present time. The king was probably worried about his daughter and Vaden went straight to half scolding Zek for being reckless. "You could have killed yourself! Or her, what would you have done if you had lost it." The old man sighed a little before shaking his head. "Reckless.. but I can't say anything because you still saved her." Even with releasing his full form he managed to hold himself together to save her. They talked about a few other things but Vaden knew that Zek had neglected to tell Elvara the most important thing of it all. The odds were Zek wouldn't live through the ritual if she performed it. He knew why he didn't say anything though, he wanted her to go through with it and not second guess her actions. |
It took a day or two before Elvara was ready enough to preform the ritual. At this very moment she was getting everything ready. Candles placed rightly, symbols drawen darkly and the objects placed within the right spots. It was just a matter of waiting for the moon to be in the right place before she could start.
Elvara stood there and stared at the objects before her. The quest was almost complete but she had a feeling of dread she could not explain. Turning she noticed Zek standing behind her leaned up on the with crossed arms and a far off look. Walking towards him she gave him a little smile and leaned up placing soft lips on the males before her before she pulled back "Why the long face? Its almost over" She said in a tired voice not knowing just how over it was close to being. |
He could almost laugh at her words, over indeed. He caught a look from Vaden, probably over hearing what she had asked him. Though he wasn't about to tell her, after it was complete ... she could know then. She couldn't reverse the ritual then and he'd rather know that demons couldn't get here instead of her caring about one life.
"Eh.. nothing. Just thinking is all." Noticing the look she gave him he smirked a little. "Going to be boring after all of this is said and through, I'll have to find some new form of entertainment." He laughed a little when she glared at him. He could guess what she thought he meant by that, but she'd be wrong. It was almost sad really, Vaden knew Zek was just putting forth the best effort he could to not show her anything was wrong or really on his mind. But she was right.. this would all be over soon. He really just wanted to hold her and enjoy just that moment. Though if he pulled something like that he knew she'd think something was up then. |
Elvara gave a little smile before she backed away "New entertainment...im sure the king will have more then one quest to deal with" With that she turned just in time to see the moon shine through the little window to make the dark ink glow a light blue. "Its time" She said before she turned back around and did something that shocked even Vaden.
Leaning up she hugged Zek with her arms around his neck before she whispered in his "Thank you...I love you" It was soft but autible in the small room. Pulling away she turned and faced the table before her and began the chant. Slowly the items before her morphed into one. As the last object that so happened to be the collar, morphed with the first two an almost quake shook the castle. It was a wave of demon magic from the gate. Not stopping her chanting she cringed a little as another wave hit the castle causing the walls to groan in pain. Dust fell from cracks that began to form but she didnt stop. Then another wave and the final one though she didnt notice that with the final wave Zek was brought to his knees. |
He felt like ripping his own heart out when she wrapped her arms around his neck and spoke softly. He was holding back the very information that would make her change her mind on this ritual. The very thing she said she loved was willingly let her kill it. He didn't speak a word, he couldn't in fact he wanted to find some way around what he was about to let her do. Glancing at Vaden both of them seemed to be at a sudden loss.
Vaden knew what was about to happen and he had warned Zek about it, but he also knew it had to be done... Zek kept the information from her so she would finish her mission. Even with his knowledge and powers he didn't find a way to prevent almost certain death from the ritual. It was designed to seal away all demons half blood or not it would kill them to rid this world of them. The final wave was the last bit of the demonic energies being sealed from this world, of course it was taking it's toll on Zek. He tried to keep any complaints to himself to prevent from stopping her when she was nearly finished with the ritual. Vaden couldn't imagine what Zek was going through, the sealing process of a demon was ripping it's soul from it's body. This ritual was similar to that and sealed all demonic energy. In turn it was pretty much ripping Zek's soul in half. The drow part was allowed to stay but the other half needed to be sealed, to obey the call of the ritual. Clenching his teeth he winced each time he breathed trying to keep it to himself. 'Just a little longer.. ' he kept telling himself. It'd all be over he didn't have to fight anymore. He'd leave behind the one thing he had grown to care about but... it was to protect her. Without demons the world was better off, she didn't have to fear the destruction of her world anymore. As a few more seconds passed he breathed out still being on his knees as he was holding himself up with both hands, everything was on fire. He was loosing blood and all he could think about was don't make a noise. After she was finished he could cough up a lung or whatever but right now she needed the last few moments to finish this. |
Elvara continued until the last words of her incantation was done. Then after the last wave was over she opened her eyes and looked at the object before her. A small stone statue of an angel slaying a deamon rested on the table in the middle of once again dark ink. She smiled softly "Zek...we did-" Though her words died on her lips as she turned around.
That is when Elvara's green eyes landed upon Zek who was on his hands and knees blood dripping to the floor from his mouth. Though the small dots became a splatter as the coughing fallowed. "ZEK!" Elvara all but screamed and before anyone could blink she was at his side worried hands on his shoulder "Zek...zek talk to me" He voice trembeled. Her mind was wondering. What was wrong!? Then she began to think. The ritual was a banishment of deamonic energys sealing them away for all eternity within the realm of deamons as long as the statue stayed whole there was no way for it to return. Right there is when her heart sank as she finaly realized what had just taken place. Zek was half deamon...which ment the ritual would kill him. She had just killed the only person she had ever loved "Why...why didnt I realize" She said cursing herself as the tears fell from clouded dull eyes "You...cant leave me" She said moving closer to him her tears falling faster "Your....you cant" She said again knowing full well he had no choice in the matter. Looking up with a pain stricken face Elvara looked to Vaden pleading in her tone "Help him...." She said "You...You have to...do...something...Anything!" She said as panic began to over take her. Looking back down at the male that now laid in her arms blood covered lips and dull eyes greated her "No....you cant" She whispered brokenly as she leaned down placing her head on his chest. "I wont let you...." Though Elvara said the words she knew nothing could change what was about to happen. |
He wasn't sure that there was hope, he looked pretty bad as it was. Though he was still breathing that was a good sign. Well at the least for the moment he was. When Elvara looked to Vaden and pleaded for help he nearly cringed knowing of a way to help but the odds that it would work were... slim to none. Not only that but it was dark magic, it was the type that was suppose to be forbidden. Though he was a master of such arts, he had certain permissions to use them. But the only way he could think of saving him would bind the two forever.
When Vaden didn't speak right away Zek moved a hand to Elvara's face lightly placing it there. "I .. should have told you." He laughed weakly knowing that he couldn't have told her even if he did he'd then have to force her to carry out the ritual. There were a number of things he wanted to say and the only thing he managed was his damned smart ass comment. He couldn't comfort her or say that everything was going to be alright. In truth he didn't think he was worth crying over, not all the hard times he had given her over the course of the trip. Vaden shook his head a little before speaking, he only made his choice because Elvara still looked like she was willing to do anything to keep Zek here. Also the fact that he was even still breathing meant they had one shot at this. "There.. " he sighed a little before going on. "There is one way I know of that could save him." When he noticed Elvara looking at him he decided to explain it a little more to her. "It's one of the blood rituals, it's success rate between two healthy bodies is a slim chance at best. Zek with his current condition . There is a high chance the ritual alone would kill him, or it could do just the opposite." He stopped her before she could say she wanted to do it just like that, he had to warn her. "You should know that such rituals are forbidden.. your father will not approve for starts seeing as it will force you into a sort of half blood state instead of being a pure blood, there is also the chance that it could kill you as well as Zek in the process of it all. Even if the ritual goes over well it could still kill him." He paused a moment thinking more into this. "I'd offer to do it myself but blood relatives are forbidden from this such ritual." He sighed a little before looking back towards Elvara. "I can't tell you know, even if I didn't tell you bout the ritual you would probably go and try to seek some other source." The choice over all was up to her, he had given her all of the warnings he could. Aside from the one he had forgotten about the two in the ritual will be bound for the rest of their days. In elven time that could pretty much be a eternity. |
Elvara sat there as she listened to everything from Zeks gurgled reply to Vadens shakey one but Elvara knew her answer to damned with what would happen. "Do it..." She said still hunched over only this time her face was hidden within Zeks neck as her hands clenched onto anything that they could hold "I will deal with my father" She said in a stern voice.
Now that she had him Elvara was not letting Zek go for any reason even death. She was prooving this now as she refused to move from her anker. Being a half blood wouldnt be so bad if it ment Zek would be there beside her 'Do it before its to late" She said looking up to vaden with tear stained eyes "I dont care if its a chance I would die..." She looked back down "With out him...it wouldnt be a life worth living...." |
Vaden nodded weakly. He didn't want to do such a thing. It was hardly a painless ritual, though it was labeled as one of the blood rituals so that was to be expected. "I need a few moments to prepare. Keep talking to him and try to keep him awake." Thats all that Vaden could say before he moved and went about tracing a few symbols and markings out in the air. This was faster then ink or chalk, granted it did take more energy this way.
Zek could hear what was going on but he couldn't respond to any of it. Not at the moment. He was just barely able to remember to breath let alone speak and protest to anything. He wanted to tell Vaden to ignore her request, that he wasn't worth it. He knew this would happen or that he would die at the least from the banishing ritual, it never dawned on him what if he was still breathing afterwards. Vaden finished with the symbols and markings needed before looking back to Elvara. "You need to cut yourself or something for the ritual to start.. I already put a barrier around this place to ensue no one can disrupt the spell midway." after her blood fell to the floor it would trigger the ritual, linking the two together. The intended purpose of this spell was to make slaves that could not disobey. The giver of the blood was the host body that the other got blood from, while there was a swap involved it also tainted so to speak the one giving the blood. Most if one ritual didn't kill them could only survive three bindings before they had no more pure blood to give from their bodies. Over all it wouldn't effect her too much so long as it didn't kill her in her emotional state. She'd get a small amount of Zek's blood into her own body, thus why it could corrupt the pure blood she had from her line before. "Whenever your ready Elvara, just try to calm down and remain that way through out it." |
Elvara listened to Vaden but she never took her eyes off of Zek before her. Reaching down to her leg clasp Elvara pulled out the dagger that rested there and with out thinking ran it down her leg causing her blood to spill out onto the floor. The gash was not big but maybe deeper then she ment. "Its going to be okay" She said dropping the dagger onto the floor before her now free hand clasped the side of Zeks face.
"Its all going to be okay' As she spoke her tears once again began to fall. Even though she was calm the tears flowed freely. Little tiny droplets of salty water falling so it trickelled down Zeks face for she did not want to move her head. If it was a chance they were both to die from this at least they would die looking at each other. |
He heard her speaking but getting a answer to go forth was something he couldn't do. Even as she was crying he just wanted to make her stop all of this. She should just let him go, there was someone out there better for her. Even if she did this he would probably die. He just mainly didn't want to risk her dying as well.
As her blood started the ritual the markings started to glow a faint red color before the glow became brighter and filled the room. There were hardly any lights in the room from before so now the only source was the runes that were glowing the color of blood. Vaden had done his part, all he could do now was wait and get someone to tend to both of them once this was all said and done. Though his first thought was the king would have his head knowing this happened, at the same time he probably knew his daughter better then anyone. She seemed to be the type that once a idea came into her mind she stuck with it no matter the costs. The ritual lasted only a few mere moments, with a faint red glow that connected the two for a mere second. That was the final part of the ritual. The runes slowly began to fade as the room returned to the lighting of the candles alone. If Elvara had energy left after her ritual before she certainly didn't now. The only thing Vaden hated now was that they would have to wait.. to see if either one of them pulled through in the end. With it being over and done with he went about to get a few of the servants to get them both to the medical ward so they could be watched over. He'd deal with the king to explain what happened and why his daughter was .. well bleeding for starters. |
Elvara had her eyes closed through the whole thing even though it only lasted a moment she felt the difference within her body and she did nothing to prevent gasp that fell from her lips as it completed and the first dropps of blood dripped from the corner of her mouth. Elvara fell forward holding onto Zek as she gave into the darkness.
It was a day or better before she groaned and moved her head. "Oh thanks god....' She heard a voice say to her left side though it seemed far away. Gathering her barings Elvara opened green eyes to see a worried king beside her and a thankfull Vaden at the end of the bed. That is when she realized it where she was but Zek....Her eyes opened wide and she shot straight up "ZEK!!" |
"Calm down.." Vaden spoke to her, she needed to not strain herself. "He's still with us, just relax before you pass out again." He mentioned again seeing as she had come to once before and freaked on them before passing out almost in the same breath. He never mentioned to her Zek had not wakened even once yet but it was no need to worry the poor girl.
Vaden was lucky her father was understanding and he did know his daughter. He nearly told the worried wizard that he could have seen something like this happening. Though it was good to see at least one of them seemed to be recovered, maybe a bit groggy but still recovered. Zek wasn't too too far from where she had been resting. Though his breathing was light at best and they had stripped most of his clothing to try an make sure there weren't any reactions from his body taking to the ritual. Vaden only suggested that because there was also a chance of a rebound from the ritual, though they seemed to have lady luck on their side. Aside from the fact he didn't seem to be waking up and his body seemed to be in a sleep state. |
With the news that Zek was still alive she smiled before her eyes went to half mass and she all but fell back onto bed. If it was not for the king catching her almost expecting it to happen she would of hit the matress hard "Alive..." She said softly before looking to Vaden "Awake...stable...?" She asked slowly though when Vaden didnt respond she cringed "No..." Was all she said before her eyes closed again.
Even though the ritual took place neither one of them seemed to be in any kind of good shape. What was she to do? Elvara searched her mind for answers though all she got was darkness as she once again fell into the darkness with one word on her lips "Please..." |
Vaden figured she was going to pass back out. He had explained to the king already that it takes a good amount of energy from both sides of the ritual. Though that could be the very reason why Zek wasn't waking up. He sighed a little when she seemed to be asleep again before looking over towards Zek. He had already sent word to Ryza about her son and that the said demonic threat was finally destroyed.
Though the message was sent right after everything happened so the sound of a dragons wings in the sky was hardly something to be surprised about. The large red landed some distance away from the castle as it's rider jumped from him and stormed her way towards the castle. It was easy to tell who she was. Crimson hair and eyes, the symbol of the over seas kingdom presenting itself in her tiara. It took mere moments for her to walk into the room after the guards showed her the way. The first thing she did was go up to Vaden and start telling him her mind. "You!" She seemed to drop whatever thought she had as her ears dropped a little. She didn't have anything to say really she already knew what was going on and that there were still the odds Zek wouldn't wake up. She bowed to the king standing there finally before speaking and asking how Elvara was fairing. Though Vaden did soon bring up the fact that both of them still needed rest and to stand here watching them wouldn't make it happen any faster. |
Elvara groaned a little as she once again found the strength to open her eyes though when she did the soft glows of candles was the only thing her eyes could see. Turning her head she looked about the room until her eyes fell onto another bed where a very slow and shallow chest moved up and down. "Zek..." She said softly.
As the name fell on dead ears she grunted and forced herself to sit. Every muscle in her body ached, every joint and bone. Though she needed to do what she had in mind. Swinging her feet over the edge of the bed Elvara took a deep breath and pushed her self up and off the bed. Though her feet didnt stop her from falling forward her cheek conecting with the floor harshly knocking the wind from her chest. Elvara laid there in pain until she got her breathing back under controle. From there she gathered everything she had and pushed herself to her hands and knees. She would crawl to him if she had to. It was a slow and grooling process but the sweet victory when she pulled herself up onto his bed and all but collasped on his chest was greater then anything. Elvara's breathing was heavy and her vision was once again becoming black she leaned up and kissed the underside of Zeks chin "C-com back..." She said brokenly before she passed out once more with her head on his chest and her arm tossed over him, her hand clenched in the sheet covering him. |
When she fell on the floor his hand seemed to twitch slightly and his breathing took a sharp spike. Not that she noticed his slight increase in activity. Though aside from that he still seemed in whatever coma state he was in before. Though it wasn't quit as bad as it had been.
When Elvara finally made it to the bed and managed to pull herself onto it talking to him he still seemed to remain alive but not. Even as she passed out he didn't seem to respond to anything that she did. Though her last words did not fall upon deaf ears... he heard her, it was more of gathering enough energy to move or opening his eyes. It took a little while but his breathing increased to what it should have been at a normal pace as he started to come to a little. He figured he was dead, hardly remembering the ritual and everything after that. When his vision caught up with his mind he noticed the weight on his chest. Elvara was still on the bed with a death grip on the sheet as she lay there. He felt rather weak at best, though he had a good idea why... he was suppose to be dead for starters, whatever was going on he wasn't going to question it just yet. Moving a hand from under the sheet he managed to place it on her exposed cheek. She seemed just as beat or worn out as he felt. But the fact he was breathing.. why was he even able to touch her still everything he knew said he should be dead. |
That is how Elvara awoke the next morning. She had her head placed on a strong breathing chest with a warm hand still on her cheek. Her death grip on the sheet loosend the more she awoke though she did not move. She didnt want to move. Elvara was exactly where she wanted to be though that soon changed as she hear some shouting froma deep voice that sounded like the kings.
Elvara could just make out some of the words of "How she got there" And "Why was she moved" But then there was another voice that joined in. One she did not know of but the tone was harsh just as the words "What is she doing in his bed!" That was the last thing Elvara heard before she tooned out the harsh tones with a little whimper. |
The poor nurse that was tending to the two tried to defend herself as she tried to tell them she never moved the girl. She was like this when she last checked on her. Though the two that were speaking before seemed to ignore the poor girl as she looked at Vaden who was there. She figured he was going to yell at her too.
Ryza was still going on but was stopped by Vaden as he spoke finally. "Calm down, yelling about it won't help matters and it certainly won't help those two." Vaden was normally rather calm but he was a bit annoyed that these two were going back and forth so loudly. "They still need rest, also I was going to suggest moving Elvara closer to see if it helped anything but seeing as she did so herself I guess I don't have to." The two seemed to stop and look at the wizard before the nurse spoke up asking how he knew she moved herself. "Theres a small amount of blood on the floor near her bed. Odds are she fell in the process of trying to walk over there." Ryza looked away from Baden hating that she was just shown up like that. Though both her and the king were in the wrong here. "Also Ryza shouldn't you be asking why the girl even cares he lives? You know your own damn son now start acting like it." She was probably lucky Zek was back to resting again and not listening to them, he would have loved to have heard this conversation of her being told down by Vaden. "If they are both content and alive I say leave them." Was the wizards final words on the matter. |
