Been making a lot of things with clay. Tiny Kodama figures, earrings that look like San's mask, and almost done with San's spear!

I'll have photos shortly. *u*

Damies 06-10-2019 07:21 AM

It is officially time to chop up some of my t-shirts since they are falling apart but I wanna keep the art. Also need to make some HTV cut outs for some shirts.

fair enough

Kaderin Triste 06-10-2019 02:54 PM

I do have a super pretty cabled mug hug pattern on my ipad though. Have only made it twice, but if I recall, it's pretty wuick to make.

trystan830 06-10-2019 02:58 PM

ah, well that's good then, right?

Kaderin Triste 06-10-2019 06:05 PM

Lol. The trick is to find both my ipad and it's charger without losing one or both again. XD

trystan830 06-10-2019 06:09 PM

should i say good luck?

Kaderin Triste 06-10-2019 08:43 PM

Lol. I think I actually might know where they both are, but will find out for sure when I get home.

trystan830 06-10-2019 08:47 PM

awesome! =)

KittyBeary 06-11-2019 06:51 AM

Hope you found them! :0

Kaderin Triste 06-11-2019 09:46 AM

Didn't end up looking last night because I got home after midnight from work and had to get up early today because I stupidly agreed to pick up an extra shift at Joann.
And then was running just slighly late grtting out the door and had to stop and pick up yarn because the cats figured out how to open the doors on the bottom of my bookcase.

Kaderin Triste 06-11-2019 11:45 PM

Omg, what are some (preferably fairly cheap) things I can tie dye? because the kit I bought actually supposedly can make up to 30 projects, but tbh, I mainly just wanted to do a cute little "Derpy tie dyes his shirts" craft day. Would do a bunch of shirts, but idk, I'm not as big into the tie dye look as I used to be (for myself) and idk if anyone would buy them on etsy or something.

Death by Mirrors 06-18-2019 03:18 AM

Tote bags? Socks? Yarn? (of course the latter would either result in more of a dip dye if you do it on the skein, and variegated if you use pre-knit swatches you later frog so you can loom knit them into something else)

trystan830 06-18-2019 09:56 AM

i've thought about dyeing my own yarn - a lady at my Stitch-n-Bitch has been experimenting with "yarn blanks" she's gotten from KnitPicks... but i have enough to keep me busy, i don't need any new crafts. i have a latch-hook rug that i haven't worked on because of crocheting. i have puzzles and models, but crochet. (and no room, where would i put them, yanno?) and a t-shirt quilt that i will NOT tell anyone when i started working on it.

and i have a number of crochet projects i'm making too!! gah. (also: no room for those either, but *shrug*)

(ooh, i need to make another shrug.)

see what i mean! XD

Kaderin Triste 06-18-2019 11:06 AM

Probably won't do yarn as I would need to order that online and wait forever to get it (I mean...I could do cotton yarns, but I hate cotton yarn and never use it, so...). But socks could be fun! Might also pick up a couple flat sheets and pillowcases to dye. And maybe a skirt and/or dress if I can afford it. Also might have to dig around and see if I can find Derpy's shirts cheaper somewhere else as they are around $7-8 for just one on Amazon. XP

trystan830 06-18-2019 11:17 AM

socks are fun, i've made a pair ... or 10. and plans for at least 2 more.

MonBon 06-19-2019 06:51 PM

I have too many hobbies T-T so what ends up happening is I work on all of them at once and end up not really developing

Stabbsworth 06-23-2019 05:01 AM

been playing enter the gungeon and getting into The Glass Scientists, trying to mimic that artstyle.

it's going well.

i can certainly see why my ex liked that webcomic -- it's beautiful.

Kinda same. Except I picked up loom knitting several years before most other craft-related hobbies, so I work on that more than anything else.

On a related note, I am about 7 wedge sections (an estimated 7-ish hours of distracted working while watching YouTube/Netflix) away from finishing my first nymphalidea shawl. It's definitely gonna need a little bit of blocking, but looks really pretty so far!

Stabbsworth 06-27-2019 09:19 AM

regrettably i'm gay for too many characters in the glass scientists. whoops.

KittyBeary 06-27-2019 09:51 AM

Kad, you can always check thrift stores for stuff to tie dye. :3

Yeah....tbh, the thrift stores here are pretty skeevy and almost never have anything good. Unlike bigger areas where you can ocassionally score rarely worn designer labels or even just rarely worn clothes from this decade, the thrift shops here features all the worst fashion mistakes from the 70s to the late 90s.
My best score was 2 skirts. 5 years ago.

Aw ;u; Besides Goodwill there's a couple here, I've only been to one and it's alright. I don't go often but when I do sometimes I find stuff.

We have 1 goodwill and 1 salvation army here. If you are looking for outdated shoes that are 1 wear away from falling apart or half-burned candles, I can hook you up.

Now only 4 more wedge sections until it's done! Might actually finish it either tonight or tomorrow.

Lol. It just looks like a mess thougb because of how it is on the loom at the moment though. Hopefully it'll look better off the loom. XD

Death by Mirrors 06-29-2019 02:43 AM

It looks way better than my own loom knitting ^^ Congrats on being almost finished!

Kaderin Triste 06-29-2019 12:32 PM

Well, I have been loom knitting for 9ish years...so give it time and you'll get there.
And thank you!

Death by Mirrors 07-01-2019 03:18 AM

True, that. I've been crocheting for a bit over a year now, and it already looks a lot better than when I started. With the right yarn, of course. Things always tend to look more awesome in cotton than acrylic. What's your favorite yarn type to work with? Or do you use whatever you have at the moment?

Kaderin Triste 07-01-2019 04:20 AM

I generally go with acrylic or acrylic/wool blends. Depends on the project sometimes though.

trystan830 07-01-2019 12:23 PM

jumping in....i used to prefer acrylic over cotton because there was more give to the acrylic. now, though, as long as the yarn is soft, not scratchy, and doesn't shed, i'm not particular what kind of fiber it is.

Kaderin Triste 07-08-2019 07:00 PM

Woo! My super lazy ass still hasn't finished that shawl! But now only 2 more wedge sections to go. XD

Also, picked up some cute and fun fabrics, but idk what I want to use them for yet...

KittyBeary 07-08-2019 08:48 PM

So I found out the thrift store I liked to go to closed back in February. ;u; And now I'm sad. </3

Unicorn kitties!! XD <3

Kaderin Triste 07-08-2019 08:54 PM

Might attempt a skirt or something with the unikitty fabric. Or maybe an apron.

Stabbsworth 07-09-2019 01:27 PM

ooh, skirts. that'd be neat.

Kaderin Triste 07-09-2019 05:03 PM

Oh shit, I wonder if I could do a skirt like this with the sharks and Jaws fabrics...
http://kosherpatterns.com/mediasheli...d_boxpleat.jpg

Death by Mirrors 07-16-2019 05:18 PM

Seriously tempted to steal the shark fabric ^^

Kaderin Triste 07-18-2019 02:41 PM

Also bought the last of this one...
https://i.postimg.cc/NGKWdN2V/20190711-215017.jpg

Lol. Tbh, once my dress is made, I'd be willing to send you any useable pieces, Death.
