OMG KITTY SOCKS!
The stained glass ones are really pretty too. |
i have a grey cat and a black cat, so the colors were perfect. :)
and thanks! :D |
|
aww, they're adorable!
but i don't make fitted things for people who don't live in my house, sowwy.... |
I will trade you a dragon baby!
Lol |
tempting, but no... it's difficult to make fitted things with measurements when you're not there to try it on
|
(Fair point)
"KITTY SOCKS!" He grabs a sock in each paw and deposits each one in front of the cat it most resembles. "Dis one is for Batty. And dis is for Shade!" |
aww, Derpy's adorable :)
|
So good at sharing! At least when it's not coffee...
lol |
Hey, I wouldn't share my coffee, either.
|
Lol. I'm also definitely not much of a coffee sharer.
Derpy probably learned it from me... |
I just have issues with sharing things I know are MINE. especially if I've already been told that the things are mine.
|
Kind of same? There's definitely a reason why my only roommates are cats and dragons...
Well...several reasons actually, but still... |
If I could afford it, my roommates would only be Transformers, dolls, and plushies.
|
Lol. I would probably have....more dragons.
|
I NEED a space that is just MINE. I don't do well around other humans for prolonged periods of time if I can't get away from said humans regularly.
|
Same here. It's way too stressful to be around humans 24/7. Sure there are people who find it relaxing to spend time with their friends, but for me quiet time with a good book or a craft project works way better to recover. I would have a cat or two (and by the way, awesome cat socks indeed!) and an unreasonable amount of gadgets in my super secret lair... but any room mates better be robots with an off switch ^^

i have two cats, a hubby, and two daughters. the younger daughter is going off to college on TUESDAY across the state. older daughter has been making her home base at my inlaws most of the time because of her jobs (one is at a theatre near there, and the other job is with my brother-inlaw near there. LOL). hubby and i already kinda move in our own spaces in the house as it is. i need to try to poke him to be a little more interactive though. |
Good luck to your daughter then ^^ College can be a great step towards independence, many fun memories, great experiences, wise and not so wise decisions...
|
thanks!
i'm sure she'll have all that! the older daughter graduated college back in May, she's working, but still looking for something permanent |
Well then, I hope she finds something soon!
|
i'm pretty sure she wants to be full time at the theatre where she is now.... but i don't know how that works, so i don't know.

Am FINALLY washing my fabric for my Jaws skirt. Was gonna do a dress, but because one of the fabrics is directional, I don't think I actually have enough. (Might be cutting it close for the skirt too.) And it was a clearance fabric that I bought the last of, so I can't get more.
But basically gonna try to make me a skirt tomorrow/tonight. |
currently: disliking drawing backgrounds.
anyone know how to cheat with drawing a background? |
Fill it with gradient. Bonus points if it's masked gradient.
|
I finished another model kit. This one was considerably more complex than the first one I built... *eyes the pile of sprues*
|
...I read that as "pile of spruces"
|
Lol...glad I'm not the only one.
|
*snerks* that would take up a lot of space.

So...I actually made my shark skirt the other day. But it turned out so bad that I need to rip all the seams out and start again. The main problem is that the instructions made it seem like you needed twice as much fabric as you actually do. So instead if starting over at the point where I learned that, I just cut/ripped out the seams at the extra fabrics and tried to continue, but struggled with a lot of other issues. And it's still to big.
|
Gah, I hate when instructions are so vague or strangely worded that you'll end up having to figure out everything on your own anyway. Hope your next try works better!
|
Lol. The information given for figuring your fabric was waist measurement x2 +8 inches for seam allowances (because of how you sew all the panels together). What it should have said is waist +8" of each fabric.
XD |
Have purchased seam ripper because I don't know where mine actually is. Might attempt ripping seams tonight...
|
Seam rippers always seem to wander off around here. Good thing they're not terribly expensive.
|
Had a coupon so I invested in a slightly hugher quality ergonomic one.
|
thanks Kitty!
also, Kaderin - was the skirt lined, or reversible? that would account for the x2. |
Lined yes. But that was accounted for separately in the materials list. The waist x2 +8" (listed EXACTLY in that order in the video) was for the 2 fabrics needed to make the outside of the skirt. So the way the material measurements were given made it sound like you needed the waist x2 +8" of EACH fabric instead of total between the two. It seemed like too much when I was assembling it, but since it was a new pattern for me, I assumed that I was doing it right. Up until the pleats were done and it could still wrap around me twice.
|
ah, i gotcha. that seems like a weird way for the measurements to be given then.
