OMG I fixed my gps problem by switching from power saver to GPS only (this device)....I didn't have to go to hig accuracy LOL

I wish mine was that easy of a fix. It won't even load far enough for gps to be an issue.

It doesn't make sense that it won't load....unless you have no data on your phone? (Or have straight talk....if the choice was straight talk or no cell phone I'd probably go with no cell phone)

Well, I do have straight talk. And up until they added the special research to it, PoGo worked just fine.
(I'm guessing you're also privileged enough to gave wifi at home. If it wasn't for my (apparently shitty to some people) straight talk phone, I wouldn't be on here at all right now.)

Although....the game runs just fine without wifi, I just seem to need a wifi connection to get it to initially load/log me in. Once that's done, it usually operates fine so...idk what's going on with it really.

Well, here, straight talk runs off of verizon and the phone I had when Pokemon Go came out....coould be updated to the bare minimum version of android it needed, but straight talk wouldn't allow updates, would not unlock the phone so I could attempt it on my own....and just thinking of calling their customer service/support makes me want to end myself. Literally.

Without wifi, I would not be on this website probably. Be we had internet before cell phones were a big thing at least. (And, with current rates, it is fairly cheap, and depending on your financial situation, well, one of my friends had okay internet form ATT for like 15 dollars I think? Dunno if you can afford that or if that offer or whatever he had is where you live...)

Still doesn't make sense why you need wifi....and Niantic....well it seems the only one to complain is on the actual app....

Anyway: you've probably tried all of these,but....if not...maybe it will help?

Check to see if Restrict Background App Data is on or not unther settings...if it is turn it off. Check for it on play store and play services as well (for some people, those being data restricted was the problem)

Or did you hit the cap before straight talk throttles you? (When I had them, I was always throttled...so slow. It was like back before any 3G) Or are they throttling you like they did me? D:

Another suggests turning off power saver mode if you have it (I assume it means on phone because if you can't log in, you can't get to the setting in the app)

In case a setting got messed up or whatever: another person had disabled Google Play Store from using background data when not on WiFi, and changing that got Pokemon Go to work for them, which Idek if you can do that with your phone....or mine either.

Another says reset app preferences in the settings I think? (Phone settings)

Most are talking about data and google play services, so maybe check that? On the off chance a setting got changed by accident, on purpose, or your phone just decided to change the setting>

Or maybe you tried all of them and yeah .-.

Checked everything, but nothing has data restricted set and I almost never have power saver mode on.
I ALWAYS hit my high-speed data cap quickly just catching up on my youtube subscribed channels, but running on the low-speed data has never effected PoGo on my phone until the "special research" update.

Well, Idk? I can't see the special research adding much in the sense of data usage....and even if it did....it shouldn't effect logging in....is there a way to send in a bug report that isn't in the app itself?

Maybe. But unless others are having the same issue, nothing will be done about it.

I doubt you're the only one, no matter what is causing the issue, you know?

Time to write a scathing 1 star review on the Google playstore!

I don't have problems logging in unless I lack 4G....I had GPS problems for a bit though .-.
