@Kederin: Become my long distance assistant! xD

@Mekatra: I have an etsy but only one kind of soap currently listed, but lots of other thingies. xD

Mekatra 11-15-2017 09:06 PM

Where might one find this Etsy? *ear perk*

Damies 11-15-2017 09:13 PM

Oh, right, here! xD

https://www.etsy.com/shop/SoapWithNoName

I generally don't post it unless directly asked for it on forums due to advertising rules some places have. Yay old habits from butthead forums!

If you ever find yourself making a sandalwood scented soap make sure you let me know.

I know that feeling. >.< I accidentally said bastard in a roleplay post earlier and was frantic to edit it before I remembered I had seen an admin drop an f-bomb.

Damies 11-15-2017 09:20 PM

Sandalwood is so niiiiiice. But it usually has vanillin content which means brown soap. I can try a vanilla stabilizer some time but I doubt I can get it to be anything whiter than beige which means if I wanted to add colorant it would be beige hued colors. xD

Alternatively I can look for a straight sandalwood vs sandalwood vanilla scent.... hmmmmm....

Mekatra 11-15-2017 09:31 PM

What's wrong with brown soap? Throw some mica powder in it and have sparkly beige lol I don't mind the natural colors of soap at all. It's all about the feel and the scent for me.

I may have to investigate those lotion bars a little more closely when I get paid.

Sparkly soap sounds pretty. and brown with mica flakes would look like mica motherstone, imo. :3 <3

Mekatra 11-15-2017 10:20 PM

Brown/beige don't have to be ugly colors. They can be warm, inviting colors, like fall.

Kaderin Triste 11-15-2017 10:21 PM

Damies: I totally would do that, yes. But I demand free scent samples to play around with for custom scent making...
>.>
Lol

Mekatra: I can't say much for Damies' soaps since I really haven't used them yet (I'm more of a liquid soap gal), but her lotions, lotion bars, and sugar scrubs are all great! I still haven't tried the foot soak tabs that I bought, but they smell good. XD

Mekatra 11-15-2017 10:42 PM

I use bar soap all the time (I even regularly use a bar soap shampoo lol) so I may have to try it in the future, but I am probably going to snag a couple lotion bars. I get really dry in the winter and my hands get cracky, which isn't great for someone that washes their hands a mazillion times a day.

Kaderin Triste 11-15-2017 11:00 PM

I was gonna buy a bar soap from Damies' shop on my last order, but she didn't have a scent I like. XD
I really do want to try it eventually though. It would cut back on plastic waste a lot for me.
(Tbh, I never really was super concerned with living waste-free until I saw a buzzfeed video about it, but I would like to actually make an effort to cut back on a lot of the waste I have. Unfortunately, recycling isn't something super available to me currently, but it would definitely be great to waste less plastic and paper whenever possible.)

Mekatra 11-15-2017 11:16 PM

It's really hard for us to live with less waste right now because our roommate insists on using paper plates and plastic forks. We don't use them when we cook for ourselves, but she will sometimes surprise us with dinner and use all disposable.

I prefer to buy my soaps and such from small artisan makers because I would rather support them than a huge corporation. Supporting small businesses is important to me.

Damies 11-15-2017 11:16 PM

I have three scents of soap curing but they won't be ready until December at the earliest. ; 0;
One is super ugly too. xD

Mekatra 11-15-2017 11:18 PM

But does it smell good? It's not like the color of the soap ends up on your skin, so if it smells good I feel that is more important than how pretty it is.

Damies 11-15-2017 11:22 PM

OH! ASSISTANT! Which one for a lotion?

"This fragrance is a glorious blend of sugar and blue spruce. It is clean, crisp and refreshing without resorting to the traditional 'pine' scent. The blue spruce adds a wondrous outdoors element. " My Note: Woodsy and sweet/fruity.

OOOOORRRR

"This fragrance is designed to mimic the feeling of peace and tranquility after a fresh snowfall. It is a very ozone-y fragrance, reminiscent of clean laundry or fresh cotton. The actual notes however are intriguing; this fragrance has a crisp heliotrope top with supporting notes of spring water, juniper berry, vetyver and sandalwood." My Note: Fruity, "soapy" but NOT "disinfectant" or "public restroom" soapy.

OR PERHAPS

"With a top note of Orange, followed by a middle note of Green Apple and winding down to peppermint and cloves, this scent is so fantastic that we decided to carry it all year instead of just at holiday time." My note: "Minty, kinda toothpaste-y? Not bad though."
