It's my joints. I've been doing a lot of manual labor over the last few days, and then I also went to swordfighting practice Saturday. And then I'm also starting to get old enough that my hips and knees just aren't always happy with me anyway. I'm going to assume that the weather changing is the reason it's hitting me so hard right now.

Amtgard. The swords are covered in foam for safety, and the concept of injury is abstracted out to something easily playable (take a hit to an arm or a leg, you can't lose it; lose two limbs, take two hits to the same arm, or take a hit to the chest, you're dead). Shields and armor and polearms and magic are all things, so the game has evolved a lot of interesting strategies.
