It's nice. I'd like to do something for the industrial set but I'm still at something of a loss. I know there were some steampunk items that were at the halloween store that I worked at that I liked but were too pricey to buy. I've been thinking about those.

I've REALLY been wanting more Steampunk items here. I hope to make and wear a Steampunk costume this year and enter in a couple of costume contests that have cash prizes. It would be awesome to win some money for my creativity, but I'm sure anyone with any artistic talent wishes for the same thing. WHICH MEANS.... I need to get crackin' on that costume!!

I've thought about selling paintings but I'm just not up to par I don't think, unless there are people who like abstract watercolour. My best shot is writing. Still working on that. I've gotten published, but no money yet.

Wow congrats! I'd love to write and illustrate a few children's books.

I like any kind of art, really. I love both abstract and watercolor but I'm not sure if I've seen the two together. It sounds interesting :3

Quiet Man Cometh 05-18-2012 04:47 PM

Thanks. I call it abstract because it rarely has shape or purpose to it, and lately I've been doing thing entirely with the paint where I used to use a base drawing.

Ginger 05-18-2012 04:56 PM

Yeah that's a really good way to improve painting skills. I've practiced drawing with pen because that way I have to try harder not to mess up. It's actually worked and I've gotten a lot better at drawing with pencil. I'm not erasing all the time like I used to.

Quiet Man Cometh 05-18-2012 05:01 PM

I used to draw everything in a finished look from start to finish, but I have been taking pills for sometime that make my hands tremble, so sketching works best for me, and erasing sparingly. It was something of a self-esteem downer when I found I couldn't draw like I used to because my hand wasn't steady enough, so I turned to painting since the bristles largely absorb the tremors.

I'm considering looking into a tablet now, I so can trying drawing online and practice more. I tried one with Corel Draw in class sometime around the late 90's, and it was something of a pain, but I imagine they're better now.

That's too bad about how you react to your meds :c I could not imagine it. Your entry looks really good though! I love the idea of dangling stars, and that swan crown is pretty amazing <3

I'd LOVE a tablet. One of those awesome amazing ones with the screen right on it. Thousands of dollars for one like that, the last time I checked. Maybe ten years from now it'll be in more of my price range xD

Steampunk is a weakness of mine but I hope they don't fall into the "Steampunk is only brown" trap.

I've seen a plaid steampunk, it was sexy as hell.

Quiet Man Cometh 05-18-2012 09:20 PM

Yeah, the steampunk stuff at my store was in about three shades of brown. Dark, not so dark, and tan. Overpriced too, but such is the nature of halloween costumes.

For some reason, I think photobucket seriously hates large images.
