"He's got a pretty big mouth," said Erickson as he put Randy's name down.

"One a' the biggest mouths I ever seen," Randy VIII remarked fondly. "But what I lack in size, I make up for in speed and aggression!"

"Well, he passed up all food today just so he'd be extra hungry for the pie," said Erickson.

"Oh, he would," snorted Randy VIII as though it were all part of some diabolical scheme. "I ain't even know about it 'til just now." He squinted. "He already got the advantage... I can still take 'im, though!"

"We'll find out when the contest starts, won't we?" said Erickson giving him a pat.

Randy VIII paused to contemplate his chances. "I can always wrestle 'im for the winnings," he reasoned. "He might can hold a lotta pie, but let's see 'im hold onto that coupon!"

"The coupon will ha tha winner's name on it ta prevent theft, so if he wins no one but him an who ever he brings with him would be able ta use it," said Erickson.

"So much for evil plan B," muttered Randy VIII. "...You get to bring a friend, though?" He tapped at his chin. "I think I know what evil plan C is."

"Ye can bring yar whole family if ye win," said Erickson.

Randy's eyes widened. "Well, shoot, why ain't you say so? Now all we gotta do is work together. We got this thing easy." He frowned momentarily. "I'mma miss my evil plans, though."

"Aye, Ah suppose I'd best call the buffet and tell them to start cranking out the octopus..." Erickson said.

Randy VIII grinned and burst into a fit of mischievous giggles. "You know us so well," he cooed.

"Yar reputation proceeds ye," Erickson grumbled picking up the phone.

Satisfied that the seafood was safely within his grasp, Randy VIII gave Erickson a nod and rounded up his brood to find another station in which to spend the remaining time until the contest began.

Kurt was already exiting the gardening area with a small pot and a shiny first place blue ribbon on a vibrant Orchid plant. He waved at Randy, "Hello!"

"Hey, hey, sugar! What you got there?" Randy called back as he approached, cautiously moving in to inspect the plant.

"An orchid," said Kurt showing him the brilliant, pink flower.

"Orchid," Randy echoed, having never actually seen one. He gave it a sniff, drawing back quickly in case he should sneeze. When he didn't, he reached out to touch the plant. After one cautious poke he seemed satisfied that he would not be allergic to it and smiled. "It's nice-lookin'."

"It's one of my best this year," said Kurt proudly.

"Looks like you done won somethin' for it," Randy noted.

"First prize, and a free sailboat rental for one week," said Kurt with a grin.

Randy laughed. "That's right up your alley, ain't it?" He jerked a thumb in the direction of the pie-eating contest. "Me an' Seven 'bout to clean that thing out an' win us some seafood," he added.

"Sounds perfect for you....I don't suppose you want to take a week out at see with me?" Kurt asked.

"For real?" Randy looked intrigued. "That might be fun... Just you an' me?" he questioned with a tilt of his head.

"Well, if we're going to properly sail we need at least two more people, maybe three to make a decent crew," said Kurt, "I plan to take the boat around the Caribbean,"

"Mm..." Randy frowned in thought. "You got somebody in mind?"

"Well your father, if he has time, I'll ask Arden but I'm not sure he'd want to, Klaus gets seasick so not him..." Kurt mused.

Randy chuckled at the thought of Klaus being seasick. "Poor honey. D'I tell you me an' him went on a date the other day?"

"Oh? How did that go?" asked Kurt.

Randy smiled softly and toed the ground. "He said 'e loved me."

"Not surprised, he's a lonely man and you mean a lot to him," said Kurt, "what did you say back?"

Randy blushed; "I said I love him, too."

"Did you mean it?" Kurt asked.

"Yeah." Randy nodded. "He's real good to me an' he's a lotta fun."

"But you're still going to charge him?" Kurt asked.

Randy grinned. "He's my best customer," he replied.

"And you're his favorite," said Kurt, "I don't think he's ever had a real serious relationship, his own marriage was all business."

"Mm. Well, I think we got a good thing. I ain't goin' nowhere," said Randy.

"I believe it's done him good....do you know he actually donated to this event? A charitable, no-strings attached act of generous giving?" said Kurt.

"Oh yeah?" Randy raised an eyebrow at him. "You think that gotta do with me?"
