Monorea 12-19-2015 05:26 AM

Den 12-19-2015 05:44 AM

I need to make latkes... I've got the stuff for it. I just need to get the energy to make 'em.

Tas 12-19-2015 05:45 AM

what's a latke?

Awen Moonshine 12-19-2015 07:19 AM

Good morning everyone! Mmmm... I love bacon pancakes with maple syrup <3

Only on here briefly today and tomorrow as I have to go see family :(

Yes it was a lot of presents, I have quite a large family, plus both my brother and my partner have birthdays right on top of Christmas. My brothers birthday is today (he's now 7 and Doctor Who mad!) and my partners birthday is on Monday. -_- I've still got to cut and wrap the chocolate & peanut butter fudge for my brother and 2 sisters, find a photo frame for my nan, find a frame for some art I commissioned for my partner and make a D20 dice bag for him but after that I'm all done for this year! ^_^ Than I just need to find something for my nans birthday in January ^_^;; Having a huge family sucks at this time of year...

Monorea 12-19-2015 09:11 AM

Simply say you love them and give them hugs ^^

Potironette 12-19-2015 10:42 AM

I haven't eaten pancakes in a looong time. But I do love them with sausages >v<

My little family would be very happy if I did that (tell them I love them, hug them); but in my family it's really embarrassing to do :'D

What's a D20 dice bag?

Fulkth 12-19-2015 10:51 AM

This latke word sounds really familiar.

I have no idea what they are, but I am guessing it's some sort of potato.

Potironette 12-19-2015 10:56 AM

I think I remember hearing the word latke for a Jewish holiday?
And I was once read a book called "latkes, latkes [something]"
Euh, I think the Jewish holiday was passover?
And at the end people celebrated after starving for an entire day with a feast including latkes?

EDIT: Latkes are potato pancakes

Fulkth 12-19-2015 11:00 AM

Mmm, they look very tasty! They probably taste like hashbrowns!

What is that yellow stuff in the center? Some sort of butter dip? Or is that applesauce?

Cazzidy 12-19-2015 11:09 AM

Good evening everyone! It's evening here, so... I just logged in. How's everyone?

Fulkth 12-19-2015 11:11 AM

I just woke up and hopped on the computer. XD

I still need breakfast. Breakfast is going to be leftover potstickers (if there is any left) and a pastry!

Cazzidy 12-19-2015 11:19 AM

Good morning to you Fulkth! Enjoy your breakfast! :D

Lawtan 12-19-2015 11:39 AM

*Feels quite ill and passes out*

Nightmare 12-19-2015 11:41 AM

I skim through the last page and see food...
now I am hungry again. D:

Aww Lawtan noooo :( feel better soon

Potironette 12-19-2015 12:07 PM

Feel better Lawtan! What's the matter /. .\?

Fulkth 12-19-2015 12:08 PM

Maybe Lawtan feels ill because he's hungry!

We need to feed him!

Fried chicken maybe?

Potironette 12-19-2015 12:11 PM

Here, fried chicken xD
http://foodnetwork.sndimg.com/conten...landscape.jpeg
Do you like fried chicken with skin like the above, or with KFC chicken skin?

Cazzidy 12-19-2015 12:11 PM

What happened Law?

Monorea 12-19-2015 12:13 PM

Well i know i'm gonna have rhubarb crumble later this evening so i am not gonna be hungry later at least.

Fulkth 12-19-2015 12:45 PM

Rhubarb. What does rhubarb normally taste like?

I think remember eating it when I was younger. I ate it raw, sprinkled with salt. I also seem to recall that it was sour.

Monorea 12-19-2015 12:48 PM

Salt? Don't you mean sugar? And yeah it is sour but i am not really good at describing the rest of the taste.
Edit:Mix in a bit sugar and it can be used for several sweat things such as soup, pie or cake. They grow easily and don't really need to be maintained just harvested

Potironette 12-19-2015 12:50 PM

What is rhubarb? Is it a fruit, a vegetable, or something else? I think I know it's red but that's it.

Fulkth 12-19-2015 12:55 PM

Yep, salt. XD

Quote:

Most comments suggested to eat the rhubarb dipped in sugar, salt, maple syrup, honey, flavoured gelatin ("Jello"), or sliced over ice cream!

Monorea 12-19-2015 12:55 PM

Well it can be considered a vegetable for the most point but it is used kinda like a fruit. I would just say it is a plant.

Fulkth 12-19-2015 12:59 PM

I hear that the leaves are poisonous. But I am not sure if that is true or not.

Potironette 12-19-2015 01:02 PM

Ahh, okay. I'll just think of them as red stalks then xD.
According to google, Britain during WW1 had people being poisoned by eating the rhubarb leaves because they thought of it as food.

Edit: Because it was "recommended" as a "food source"

Lawtan 12-19-2015 01:07 PM

O.O

...it's some bug going around + an infection, so...
*Stays in bed*

Cazzidy 12-19-2015 01:08 PM

and I actually googled what rhubarb looks like... hahahaha! XD

Fulkth 12-19-2015 01:14 PM

@Lawtan

Wow, that sounds bad!

Make sure to take lots of fluids and sleep!

I hope you get better!

Potironette 12-19-2015 01:15 PM

Ahh, community sicknesses. I know in school everyone gets sick from each other because I go to a school where everyone desperately goes to school even when they're sick, and I'm no exception. I probably shouldn't ask what infection you have, but I am curious about this: do you really stay in bed when you're sick? I know that I don't.

I googled what rhubarb crumble looked like. And I had no clue what a rhubarb crumble was just from the pictures.

Fulkth 12-19-2015 01:18 PM

I am assuming a rhubarb crumble looks like an apple crisp. But with rhubarb instead of apple. XD

I think I am getting sick too! *has a slight slight stuffy nose*

I don't want to be sick for Christmas!

Potironette 12-19-2015 01:21 PM

I dunno what an apple crisp is either xD. But with some googling, they look pretty much exactly the same!
Hopefully your body will fight it off before you get too sick :/
I already got sick a bit before the start of this month so I think I'm good for this year xD

I don't quite know the infection. Right now, I am under covers but at the desk typing.

Potironette 12-19-2015 01:34 PM

Ahh, I hope you get better soon.
Well, maybe the reason I'm never in bed when I'm sick is because I like sleeping on the floor, and so when I'm sick I just stay at home and not do stressful things.

Monorea 12-19-2015 01:34 PM

What kind of alien are you that don't know about crumble or crisp?
Anyways me family is also getting sick.

I thought I was the only fool to do that! xD
...though I tend to curl up under the desk like a cat...
