Had a Tauros show up on the list a couple of times at my sister's place, but couldn't track it down. Maybe if I drove to a couple of the trails in the area. There's a creek nearby somewhere, I know, and I can see the water pokemon.
They are short and awkward strata lots and streets so it's not easy to navigate.

My top Pokemon now is my 540(I think) Pidgeot.

Niantic is being very aggressive about shutting down real-time scanners. Other sites that provide non-real-time crowdsourced historical data are still useful for showing where they actually spawn, but any scanner that runs off of a website gets IP-blocked in short order.

They've also made it harder to automatically register accounts to replace those that have been banned for GPS spoofing.

Well, I put in where I live and no pokemon showed up for that map. It just showed ones in the Cali area.

That could mean that they're using crowdsourced data and most of their users that provide data are around here, or it could mean that their accounts that scan your area have been blocked successfully but the ones scanning California haven't been yet), or it could mean that they're not trying to provide nationwide coverage.

Finally found my stupid illusive venognat outside a walmart today. I half think that as you play long enough, rare guys just show up for no real reason. Not sure why else a squirtle pops up once outside my cousin's house where I spent nearly a week and otherwise never saw them, and then again inside a store just after I logged in after driving there. Also nowhere near water.

Stupid driving! I passed up two gyms today because, you know, safety and all. Two gyms! One neutral and one on my team with an open slot! bah! Could have just stopped where they were I guess, but had stuff to do at home.

Rares are rare, by definition. :P Just because you haven't seen them there before doesn't mean they're not there. It just means you hadn't gotten lucky yet.

Yes, they DO show up for no real reason when they appear, but it's not because you've been playing a long time -- everyone else in the area would see it too.

Not necessarily playing for a long time, but I seem to spot them more often on a fresh login, or in an area I just arrived.

Good day today! I had a doctors appointment that I was an hour early for so I walked around the very touristy area she happens to be in. Got my first training medal, and another 10 coins from a gym (30 now). The one gym changed teams at least 5-6 times in the time that I was there.

Didn't get anybody new but bounced a new weedle to a beedril, not a very tough beedril but worth some xp.

I also did some actual walking around in nature n' stuff but who cares about that . ;)

There is a tauros that appears near my house, and every time I see it's shadow I never have enough pokeballs for me to attempt catching it. .-.

I've only seen the shadow on my nearby list - and there he is again! BRB!

Aaaand gone. That didn't take long. I'm really not sure how one goes about tracking down pokemon that show up in the "sightings" box. I've really never been able to do it.

All you really know is that they're within 200 meters. You can KINDA triangulate it if you watch close and see when it disappears and then backtrack and get it to disappear from another direction, but... it's... not great.

Ah. And this Tauros is taunting me. It appeared again (first time I've had it show during a current login) right as I was getting into the car. Well eff you too!

And they might have changed the order thing again. There was a horsea in the second row, yet that was what popped up on the screen for me. There were only two rows of pokemon listed. ^^;

Got a good pile the other day while out running around on errands. Got a krabby, kingler, jigglypuff, mankey, all new to me, hatched a goldeen and a vulpix, and got a 284 cp eevee.

I try to get eggs to hatch while driving to work, just hitting the button for the speed things when I'm at red lights or stop signs. >///>

I have my phone in a little purse that I just wear around the house when I'm doing jobs. Can get me half a click in a day if I'm particularly mobile.

I have 100+ balls from my previous excursions and no pokemon around here to catch so I keep up a pretty good stock.

I got my new phone (one that WORKS) its a BLU Life XL (the only one stoneberry had that had 1GB RAM)

I can play PAD and PokeGo.. Line Play! (except lineplay isn't as good as it use to be)

And I walked up to wait for the mail man, walked around. Caught a Beedrill... and just as I entered my apartment (gave up waiting for mailman) a 10km egg i had in my incubator from my Bluestack days.. hatched.. I has a DRATINI! *A* so cute!

Had to take the ferry a couple times today so wandered around the waterfront with my phone. Who knew the ocean had so many bugs? There were lures on both sides of the route. Caught a bunch of drowzee and a couple hypno, bugs, and a meowth, also hanging out in the ocean not too far from the ferry dock. Got my tauros the other day two, walking past a pub while I was out on errands. I named him after said pub.

I take my phone with me to the mail box yesterday.. 3 kids start talking REALLY loud 'i wonder if she's playing Pokemon GO' and i go:

"yes I am!" they all get excited "what level are you! What team are you!"

im all "I pretty much just started, level 8 (9 now hehe) team instinct!"

the one boy goes ' YES! INSTINCT!'

and the other one goes "How many pikachu have you caught!? my mom has 3!" I go "I just have the 1 pikachu but i'm happy with my dratini though!" and I walk off. >w>

I did get a jynx as well at the ferry. Popped up without even being on my radar. Forgot about.

No pikachu or charmander yet, though I've seen both in the area.

There was a vulpix and a mankey around my place yesterday. When you move toward them, they would disappear from the 'sightings' list completely so everyone looking for it kept going in other directions, even myself.

=o= it was behind my building in the parking lot for the garden houses back there.. the 2 in the car found them just as they timed out >:o

Though I did meet some people who live in the garden houses across the street who play >w>

Nice! I hope to eventually get more magikarp and dratini to evolve mine. :3

My dad gave my sister his iPhone 5, and she's finally able to get in and actually play, so we've just now really gotten into it. There are more PokeStops around our house than I had thought. Though our map is not really up to date. We went to one of the military helicopters sitting around, because it's marked as a stop, but the stop is where it was years ago. But that's a Sno Biz now, so still great.

Yeah, I noticed that around here as well to be honest.

I think my town has.. 11 pokestops total? 12 if I count the iron man dude heading out to the highway...

a majority of them are around the library, all of them too far for me to walk to. =o=,

All the stops, except the one that was a helicopter and now a Sno Biz, are too far to walk, but the drive isn't too bad. There are three and a gym just down the road a little ways. And a small cluster at the library/town hall/theater area of town.

Kind of jealous, we had to go to the next town over to get chinchilla food, and the whole of their downtown is basically nothing but stops.

But my sister is proud of her Pikachu and Psyduck, mad a Charmander ran off on her.
