McSwiggins 04-01-2017 02:58 AM

Panda 04-01-2017 03:06 AM

My bird will do all the work, I am an angel.

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 03:11 AM

Glitch 04-01-2017 10:33 AM

whachu mean

Lawtan 04-01-2017 10:39 AM

I believe they did...

Also, why does Shamus remind me of Lugh right now?

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 10:47 AM

Lawtan: Lugh who? I know of Lugh Lamfada but he's probably not the same guy. Lol

Edit: And Lugh Cromain

Lawtan 04-01-2017 10:51 AM

...Actually, yes. Long-arm, wields a spear, etc. xD

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 10:54 AM

Ah! The celtic god. Yeah, I meant to just be an early Irish barbarian lol but he does sort of remind me of Lugh now that you say it. I'm surprised you know of him. I'm from Ireland and have deep celtic roots. I've also got Welsh and Manx in me, so I studied about the celts alot.

Lawtan 04-01-2017 11:10 AM

...My main heritage is Austrian (Guten Tag!), Scottish (Anderson), Amerindian (Mattaponi).
I like knowing mythology, and I even made a character based on Taliesin...

Gwion ab'Arlnett: Don't bring me into this. *resumes playing music and deliberately ignoring conversation*

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 12:07 PM

Nice! I have a bit of German and Italian in me but my most dominant is Irish (considering I am from Ireland, thats kind of a given) and then there is Manx and Welsh which is more dominant than German which is more dominant than Italian.
Have you heard of Finn MacCool and the Fianna? They were real people but we dont know much about their IRL selves because there is way too many myths about them.

Lawtan 04-01-2017 12:13 PM

Finn MacCool, I recall, though not well. And I could be confusing him with the members of the family of the legendary man called "dog." (Cu)

So, care to elaborate? :D

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 12:45 PM

Fionn mac Cumhaill (transcribed as Finn MacCool) was a mythological hunter and warrior who was actually a real person. As a young boy he studied under a druid who was having Finn cook the salmon of knowledge for him. You've heard of the salmon of knowledge right? Rumor had it, if you ate it you gained all the knowledge in the world. Well, Finn was cooking it for his master but was instructed not to eat any himself. Finn accidentally burned his thumb on the Salmon and instinctively put it in his mouth like people will sometimes do to ease their initial pain. Well, since his thumb had touched the salmon of knowledge, when he put it in his mouth, he accidentally ingested some of the juices of the salmon. When his master saw he had gained knowledge by this, he let Finn eat the Salmon of Knowledge instead of himself, which comes into play in a few myths later in his life.
Finn was leader of the Fianna, a band of warriors sworn to protect the high king of Ireland with their lives.
He was out hunting and found a deer who was actually a woman under a spell. He brought her home and changed her into her true human form and they married and soon she was pregnant. But he had to go into battle with the Fianna for the high king, so he had to leave her alone. The sorcerer who had once turned her into a deer found her and took her, returning her form into a deer and releasing her in the wild. When Finn came home and realized what happened he was devastated. He searched for so long for her but never ended up finding her. He did find their son who was a fawn. He changed him back into a child named him Oisin and raised him carefully. Oisin also became a member of the Fianna once he became old enough.
In some myths Finn was a giant. One such myth is the Irish creation myth for Isle of Man. Finn was in a fierce battle with an enemy. Finn was known as the lands best and most skilled warrior on the battlefield. Well, the enemy he was fighting was his match. Finn was struggling and he was getting tired and quite frustrated. He picked up a huge chunk of the earth of Ireland (remember, he's a giant in this myth) and he threw it at his enemy but missed. It landed in the ocean between Ireland and England and became what is now Isle of man. There is a rock formation jetting out from the surface of the ocean about 200 miles off the coast of county Donegal (the most North western county in Ireland) called Rockall. It has a similar creation myth. Finn the giant was peacefully sitting on the beach overlooking the ocean. He picked up a rock and skipped it. Where it landed became known as what is now Rockall.

Batty 04-01-2017 12:55 PM

@______________@

.... I had a rough night. Yo, peeps.

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 01:03 PM

Hello Batty! I did to. Queen Bitch (my ex wife) decided she was going to text bomb me insults and unfair/untrue accusations and belittle me all night for having an issue due to childhood trauma. As if I didnt already despise myself enough to begin with....
How you feeling now?

Lawtan 04-01-2017 01:20 PM

*Looks up Rockall and Isle of Man*

Interesting. Reminds me of Glooscap, who would fight both a giant water monster (something like a frog) and in so doing cleared a natural dam and allowing water to a tribe. He cast the creature into the seas to become dolphins/whales.

Batty 04-01-2017 01:23 PM

I had night terrors, and a brain that wouldn't shut up and let me be. ><;
2am anxiety at its best xD;

I'm sorry... that sounds fucking horrible. Theres gotta be a way to make her stop ;3; Some women... I swear... they give the rest of us a bad name.

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 01:39 PM

Lawtan: Yep, thats Rockall. Its kind of strange how just a big ass rock like that is jetting out of then ocean.
Ooh. Interesting! I've only heard of Glooscap's name. I visited a wabanaki themed place (it wasnt a tribe or reserve or anything like that) and the had some cool stuff of him. But, I dont know anything about him. I was only 5 when I went there, so I dont remember much.

Batty: Aww. I get those problems to, so I know those feels. I hope your night tonight is better. :)

I dont even know what pissed her off. I was laying in bed next to Janna rubbing her baby belly and talking about the baby we are expecting and she just randomly blew up my phone. It wouldnt stop. I had to silence everything because it was like, an hour later and after me begging her for mercy, it just continued.

Panda 04-01-2017 01:42 PM

Good morning gorgeous ♥

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 01:46 PM

Hey bby. -wraps arms around and gives big hug-

Lawtan 04-01-2017 01:53 PM

It's not that weird. Though I'd like to know a bit more about the area around it - was it weathering or tectonic activity that caused it...

hyjin 04-01-2017 02:02 PM

I saw the joke after a staff member told me... Lol

Panda 04-01-2017 02:04 PM

What joke? O.o

hyjin 04-01-2017 02:04 PM

The soft serve item you get today

Panda 04-01-2017 02:07 PM

Oh yeah :D It's delicious.

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 02:08 PM

Lawtan, thats what is weird. Its part of a rock reef type formation but people dont understand why its there. Scientists are starting to think the split of pangea may have caused it.

Panda 04-01-2017 02:15 PM

That looks like the rock in San Fran.

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 08:40 PM

Hello

Lawtan 04-01-2017 08:43 PM

Salve! How are you today?

McSwiggins 04-01-2017 08:50 PM

Tired. Its the weekend, so I have the 5 kids Queen Bitch and I had right now. They ran me ragged today and I was so relieved when they went to bed and I could sit down and enjoy the quiet.

You?

Lawtan 04-01-2017 08:53 PM

Migraine lessening. Trying to get out the other art stuff. Listening to Pirates of the Caribbean.

A day.

Panda 04-02-2017 02:42 AM

I'm so thirsty right now :(

Lawtan 04-02-2017 03:22 AM

...When you just realize yesterday was April Fools...
OTL

Panda 04-02-2017 03:26 AM

Yeah, lmao you are so late! XD

McSwiggins 04-02-2017 06:42 PM
