...I always have been fond of puppets.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 12:37 AM

I'm playing with all the poses.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 12:47 AM

So I see. I like the stitchy one.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 12:50 AM

I like the mouth poses....but I haven't figured out a good way to use them yet.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 01:07 AM

What mouth poses? I know I looked at it on the item guide, but don't remember it all.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 01:08 AM

There's this one.

We gonna watch our movie or not?

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 01:25 AM

Ah, indeedly.

o no I dunno, I want to, but I also want RP. WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF SUCH A TOUCHING MOMENT I CAN'T BEAR TO PART FROM IT.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 01:26 AM

roo indeed,

but I'm getting to that point of the evening where it's getting later and I'm starting to wind down, so we might wanna wrap up this scene quick as is.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 01:43 AM

Well, I don't want to rush through the scene. I'd rather put it on hold than risk that.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 01:44 AM

indeed, I think another post or so and that will be it for me tonight.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 01:48 AM

Neh

...did you ever watch the Lorax?

Red Lion 04-01-2013 01:49 AM

I did.

......I disliked it immensely. It had one or two instances where I thought it was mildly funny but over all I thought it was kind of stupid and....un seusslike.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 02:01 AM

Aww. There were definitely things about it that I could have done without, and no it didn't feel particularly... Seussical? But as a movie on its own being based on that book, I did like it.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 02:04 AM

I think it all comes down to the fact that once-ler got on my nerves more than I enjoyed him and the fact that the villain was as one dimensional and unnecessary as they come kinda killed it for me. I also wasn't big on the Lorax himself.

Roo, is time to fire up the steam?

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 02:08 AM

I thought they did well with the Lorax. He kinda seemed exactly how I'd expect him to be from the book. Annoying but just trying to do his job... XD
and I totally liked the Once-ler no matter how many liberties they took with him shhhhhhh
but pretty much everything else was...ehhhhhhhhh
though if you're gonna make a whole big back story to do all that jazz, I don't think it's a bad direction they went in at all. Just cheap execution that could have been done better if they'd avoided all the really cliche things rather than made them the main focus.

and is yes.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 02:12 AM

Eh, I felt the back story was pointless, Once-ler's old man scenes were ok but the rest of the time I didn't really care for his dialogue, he felt so...teenagery. The jokes also didn't work for me most of the time.

My problem with the Lorax was mostly the actor they chose, I just kept hearing Danny Devito being every Danny Devito character ever and I started tuning him out.

And arrooo....Ok then.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 12:58 PM

I think all my issues with the film can be summed up by saying they tried to make it too teenagery, appealing to all the things that people in the eight to fourteen age range think is cool or cute or funny. You have the annoying portrayal of the fish and the bears, which are basically your Thing 1 and Thing 2 or the minions from Despicable Me, because people adored those. You have your teenage main characters and your typical boy-wants-girl romance plot, and even a crazy-but-surprisingly-wise butt-kicking granny, and the would-be-scary-but-too-small-and-doofy villain. All of which people really love, especially young people because they haven't seen enough of these things in their lifetime for them to seem over-done and corny to them yet. They're still novel and right on the same level of maturity as the audience. And when we consider who the target audience really is, well... Not saying it's a good thing, but they're basically just "doing what works".

I don't follow actors all that much; I may be familiar with Danny Devito, but all I hear when watching the movie without knowing beforehand who did what is Lorax. I think the voice and characterization of him was spot-on.

There are a lot of directions in which the whole Once-ler thing could have been taken, and while I'm tired of seeing all the same types of characters, myself, I do think the way they did it worked well enough with the story that it didn't really bother me. If you're going to go the route of giving him his own back-story, at least.

Aaaand I thought the music and animation were quite decent.

So overall I do like it enough that I'd watch it again at some point, even though I recognize its flaws from a mile away, and it's not going in my bin of top favorites any time soon. Thankfully, the most cringe-worthy parts IMO were not a big enough part of the main attraction to ruin it.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 02:45 PM

Ernya's april fool's day thing was a panda head which will supposedly only be in the inventory for today.

...I like.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 02:57 PM

....I see. interesting.

And meh, the Lorax is not my movie, but most doctor suess adaptations didn't really fly with me when I saw them,

Hello willis.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 03:02 PM

You are so meh about everything it depresses me.

*chews on you anyway*

Red Lion 04-01-2013 03:10 PM

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 03:12 PM

Red Lion 04-01-2013 03:37 PM

I am excited about foods, arts and the rp.

The lorax and pandas are just meh subjects.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 03:41 PM

Pffttt.

oh god there's another one of those hideous cricket things on the wall in the bathroom. I want to spray it with Raid, but I don't want to risk it falling or jumping on me.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 03:49 PM

Ew, why is your house so bug infested?

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 03:57 PM

; A; that's the downside of living with nature.

Those things jump at perceived threats. I don't have room to back up from it in the bathroom. The cricket wins use of my loo for now... -_-

Also need to walk the dog anyway. I shall return afterward.

Red Lion 04-01-2013 04:19 PM

Ew,

When you get back there will be art.

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 04:21 PM

/sob
GO AWAY, SCARY CRICKET.

*have decided to eat before I walk the dog, as I will inevitably get hungry and was already feeling so before I was about to go*

Red Lion 04-01-2013 04:45 PM

http://herr-drosselmeyer.deviantart....sselmeyer&qo=0

Red Lion 04-01-2013 05:07 PM

uncledaddy 04-01-2013 05:09 PM

Red Lion 04-01-2013 05:12 PM
