Today, my boyfriend and I went to Little Tokyo, up in LA, and I got a couple more model kits, a LOT of origami paper, and a new wig for a costume I'm doing in August. I will be streaming the building of the models.

Mekatra 12-30-2019 11:38 PM

That sounds fun. What kind of costume is it?

Den 12-31-2019 12:03 AM

A human version of a Transformers character.

Mekatra 12-31-2019 12:09 AM

I hope you will take pics when you are done. I am interested to see that.

Den 12-31-2019 03:18 PM

it's mainly just a dress I have, plus a wig, some contacts, and some work with foam and resin for a prop.

Kaderin Triste 01-02-2020 11:54 AM

Stupid cat is almost done! (In pics, tail isn't on, but in reality, it is I jist didn't take pics after attaching.) Just needs eyes sewn on!

KITTY OVO

trystan830 01-02-2020 01:02 PM

that's adorable!

Kaderin Triste 01-02-2020 01:08 PM

Just waiting to hesr back from the person on the correct eye color. In the pic I have they look like a light gold color, but I know lighting can effect the color appearance sometimes.

Mekatra 01-02-2020 02:39 PM

It looks so soft <3

Kaderin Triste 01-02-2020 02:44 PM

It's not quite as soft as I hoped it would be, but it's pretty soft.

Mekatra 01-02-2020 02:46 PM

Still looks cuddly. Do they plan on it being a sit on the shelf sort of item or a comfort item?

Kaderin Triste 01-02-2020 02:51 PM

I don't know. I'd make it the same either way, so I didn't ask. As the woman ordering it was a bit older (I'd estimate age in the 50's), I'd guess shelf decor, but who knows?

Den 01-04-2020 10:43 PM

I have a bunch of stuff to embroider with now. :3 and a drop spindle with roving, and a couple nalbinding nals(needles). so I've quite the score.

Ava 01-05-2020 11:03 PM

That's such an adorable cat! :D

I've been meaning to get back into sewing.
My machine has been finicky and honestly, I don't have the patience nor attention span to try to figure out what's wrong with it.

I used to sew everything by hand before the machine and I think I did better by hand than the stitching that my machine does!

I've got some cloth pads I'm going to sew soon! Hopefully when I can afford some nice flannel and Terry cloth.

I find sewing by hand to be pretty relaxing. (So long as I have no deadline!)
I sewed my first cloth pads myself when I was 16. :D

Kitalpha Hart 01-06-2020 01:32 PM

Mine likes to whine when I use it for the first time in a while, but once it's done it tends to run smoothly

Mekatra 01-06-2020 03:59 PM

Now that the award scroll has been given out I can show you guys. I chickened out and had my husband do the illumination because mine is crap quality.

Kaderin Triste 01-06-2020 04:27 PM

Oooohhh....that's pretty!

Mekatra 01-06-2020 04:34 PM

The illumination really makes it.

trystan830 01-06-2020 05:19 PM

oooh that's awesome!

Den 01-06-2020 06:51 PM

working on knitting up a dice bag for my entire collection.

Mekatra 01-06-2020 10:02 PM

Is that going to have to be a fairly big bag?

Den 01-06-2020 10:38 PM

It is. I have 34 individual sets consisting of 7 dice each, two sets of 10 d10s, a set of Vampire: The Masquerade dice, three random d20s I got somewhere, a d100, and a crapton of unique d6s (in other words: holiday edition/convention edition d6s commemorating an event/holiday).

Mekatra 01-06-2020 10:47 PM

I'm impressed that you know basically the exact number.

Den 01-06-2020 10:59 PM

I had to count them so I'd know how many pouches to make and in what sizes.

Mekatra 01-06-2020 11:36 PM

That's fair. I used to just use a half a pillowcase that I put a drawstring in, but recently a friend crocheted me a lovely pouch.

Kitalpha Hart 01-07-2020 09:58 AM

I have a full set plus one extra

Mekatra 01-07-2020 11:13 AM

I have never bothered to count mine, but I know I have 20+ sets plus a bunch extra from various places.

trystan830 01-07-2020 11:39 AM

i have one full set, plus an extra d4, d10 and d20

Kitalpha Hart 01-07-2020 11:42 AM

Here's mine
Guess which one isn't from the set

trystan830 01-07-2020 11:48 AM

ok, i actually thought about the dice i have.

i have the random d4, d10 and d20.

i have a clear set, minus a d10
i have a clear purple set, minus a d10
i have 2 d10 that go together (one black marbley the other white marbley)
^^these make up two sets then, but i tend to think of them as one. *shrug*

the random d4, d10 and d20 actually fit into necklaces, the one with the d20 i got at a pride day faire, and i made the other two for the d4 and d10 (they look like they go together)

i always had them with me back in november when i was working on my NaNo, in case i needed to figure something out. :)

Kaderin Triste 01-07-2020 12:03 PM

I have...I think 5 sets of dice? I bought them for....some reason I can't remember. I was just gonna get 1 set, but tbh it was actually about the same cost to get the set of 5 than to just get 1 set.
I don't actually have a use for them irl, but maybe I should use them for craft project decision making. XD

Den 01-08-2020 12:38 AM

I have a goal to have a dice collection that rivals Laura Bailey's.

Kaderin Triste 01-08-2020 12:51 AM

I don't know who that is....but I believe in you, you can do it!

Den 01-08-2020 09:30 PM

She's a voice actress who also plays D&D on Critical Role. She's married to Travis Willingham, and they have a son named Ronin. She also has a HUGE dice collection, and brings about half of it with her to D&D on Thursdays (Critical Role is on Thursdays at 7pm GMT -8). The pink dice bag is bigger than my head.

Kaderin Triste 01-08-2020 09:56 PM

I mean...who she's married to and children is irrelevant to me, but that's good to know I guess?

XD
Ah, critical role. I have heard it, but never watched? Listened? to it.

Den 01-08-2020 10:03 PM

There's an episode tomorrow night, and you can catch up on past episodes on Youtube or on their podcast. The show does fundraising for charities at various points in the year. 826LA, Operation: Supply Drop, stuff like that.

Kaderin Triste 01-09-2020 12:29 AM

I'll have to look into them.

Mekatra 01-09-2020 08:52 AM

Critical roll go in trouble recently for doin a Wendys commercial and a whole module for them. Since Wendys has appalling labor practices it landed them in hot water with a lot of their fans.

Ava 01-09-2020 08:13 PM

I never worked in fast food,
But I always kinda assumed most fast food places treated their workers poorly and had them work in poor conditions. :(
