I very briefly (like 4-6 months) worked fast food. It was mostly okay, but I hated smelling like grease all the time.
|
Eeeee! I hate the smell of grease :(
I'm sensitive to certain smells, so it would drive me insane having to smell like that all the time. |
Yeah, that and walking home half soaked with water because of how we had to spray the floors off every night were the worst parts.
I think poor treatment of employees can depend on the place itself and the manager(s). |

Oh jeeze, I remember spraying the floors -- and running the grease through a filtration device so we could scrub the bits of fries and tenders and whatnot out of the fryers!
|
Yeah, that sorta stuff is why I wanna avoid fast food work if I possibly can. that and my knees and back are fubar.

I met Laura once at a convention years ago. 8D

Guys....someone yell at me until I finish sewing on the custom cat's eyes! Because that's all I have left but I've been procrastinating because the person is now on vacation out of the states until March. XP
|
Is it done yet
|
.....nope. I have pulled it out of the storage tub and am now searching for a good gold-ish colored yarn for the eyes.
Update: Cat is now 100% done and I just need to take a few good full-body photos for the person. And then wait for them to get back from vacay. https://i.postimg.cc/G3W40GPq/20200110-161225.jpg |
Cute!
|
Thanks!
Now I can focus on other things. Like a late Christmas present. And...a fox that I should have finished for someone over a year ago. XD And also some of the dragons that I started, but never finished. |
Ooooooooof
Hopefully you can finish those soon |
Honestly, most of the stuff doesn't have a hard deadline. The fox is almost done, I just need to make a few parts for it and it'll be complete, so I'd like to get it done by the end of the month. And the Christmas present is going in a box with gifts saved up from the last year and a half anyway, so it can wait as well though I'd like to get it sent out before summer.
Everything else is just stuff that can be done whenever. |

I need to grab more stuffing next week and then start on more plush commissions. |
aww, the kitty *is* adorable!
|
It actually is really cute and I kind of want to keep it. But I can't. And I am never doing another cat like that ever.
Well...not custom based off an actual cat at least because even though the woman was very sweet about it and not in any kind of rush, my self-set deadlines added too much stress. But maybe I'll do a patchy cat for funsies later on...much later on. After I finish all my other unfinished plushies. |
Mom made a Lorax for my cousin's baby shower tomorrow
Idk where she's hiding it tho |
That sounds amazing and I want pictures of it when/if you can!
|
I'm working on another embroidered pendant. This one will be the Critical Role logo.

Lorax is half plushie half hand towel thingie, apparently |
Awwww that's adorable!
|
|
Ooooh.....it actually really does! Lol
|
I'm almost done with my CritRole pendant.
|
Am slowly forcing myself to work on finishing some projects. Today's goal is to finish assembling 1 dragon (and make a spine for it). And maybe start working on assembling a second one if I have time...

new friend for Derpy?
|
Probably not one to keep, am hoping to get some plushies made up and then put in the gift shop at my one job. Since now that we have a good director, I can do that.
|
ah. but very cool!

Aren't the vast majority of large companies known for bad work conditions tho?
|
I'm a bit pissed at myself. I had just finished the embroidery part of my Critical Role pendant, and was getting ready to fit it into its frame, and I broke the frame. Worse still, I only had one of those size frames in my stash.
|
OOOOOOOOOOOF
I'm guessing you don't have a way to fix it? |
I mean, I could probably super glue it back together...
|
Would that work?
|
Ugh that's the worst. Hopefully you can fix it.
|
Ugh. Have been trying really hard to potentially track down some good yarn stash-busting challenges or just challenges in general for loom knitting, but the most recent I could find was still from 4 years ago...
Suppose I could just come up with my own challenge...like to use up 5 skeins (or maybe 3 full and 3-4 "scrap"/partial skeins) of yarn per month....I think I saw someone on Instagram doing 20, but with my schedule, I don't know if I could get through that many... Although now is the slow season at Joann, so I do have a few more days where I'm off after 11-11:40am usually, so if I stop being lazy and doing nothing, I could get more stuff done then. |
What kind of challenges do you usually go for?
|
I don't usually go for any. Which is probably why my yarn stash is so out of control and why I was looking for one.
|
About half done with an infinity scarf. My first project of 2020! Can't decide if I want to block it or if I actually like the way the edges curl in. Will have to see when it's done...
