Well, skill makes sense. It seems more organized too though xD.

Macrame sounds interesting :o. I never thought about actually knotting string into stuff.

What do you do after the first round? Make two chains then crochet into the first stitch not stitched into..?

Lee 12-22-2016 12:39 AM

Yes, exactly. If you're doing rounds instead of rows--such as for a hat--reverse the front post and back post instructions (back post is front post, and front post is back post) because you aren't going to turn your work around, you'll just keep going in a spiral

Kaderin Triste 12-22-2016 12:43 AM

I don't know how I feel about macrame...

Potironette 12-22-2016 12:48 AM

Thanks for the instructions! I'm learning crocheting terminology I otherwise would never touch this way too xD!

The macrame pictures on google look pretty, but stiff for things like clothes. The carpets and fancy rope stuff look good though :o

Lee 12-22-2016 06:39 PM

Did you figure out the cabling? And if you need help with any terminology, that's what I'm here for.

Potironette 12-22-2016 08:31 PM

Cabling...no ><'

I had a hard time figuring out which hole is what hole ><. I ended up making one thing of semi-x's and then forgot to stop doing the front and back thing so I had x's on the bottom and just lines in the middle, woops.

Lee 12-22-2016 10:05 PM

The second row are just lines, you're doing it right! You just go back and do the 'x's on the next row of wherever you are. The 'x' is the twisty bit when you do the cable, it really doesn't matter where you put them, as long as you line them up with your first 'x's.

As for the stitches, you usually go under the 'v' shape, but you can use the posts, too. Like, the chain will look like this from the top, for example: >>>>>>>> Two legs make up one stitch. You don't have to stick the hook in under both at the same time, you can do it one at a time, if you want. It won't change the end project.

*rolls around*
I finished a fox! Yay! My first one ever, too!

Lee 12-23-2016 01:43 AM

Alright! 8D That's always fun. How'd it turn out? Up to expectations, I hope?

Kaderin Triste 12-23-2016 02:14 AM

The legs are a little crooked, but it's adorable!
Definitely impressed with how it turned out.

Glitch 12-23-2016 02:20 AM

I like macrame! : D I can do that one

Lee 12-23-2016 03:44 AM

Excellent!

What's your favorite knotting method?

Batty 12-23-2016 01:05 PM
