Nope. Hot water down the sink after the stuff just makes the smell come faster. LOL
Hm, odd. I've never had an issue with that.
Have you ever lived in government housing? LOL
...Okay, good point.
The soap scum deposit out of the bathroom sink drain was like something out of a horror movie.
Ew, I bet it was like slimy and black and drippy! And if you looked at it wrong, did it move?
Oh man. There was this one time I loaned my second-worst roommate a bowl, which she used to store...I think it was an open packet of ranch dressing? Anyways, the thing sat on her desk for three weeks before I was like "yo I really need my bowl back", so one morning, she washed washed it out before class and like. Left the residue in the sink. The *moldy* residue. I'm mycophobic.
I came back that afternoon and leaned over to splash some water on my face and nearly had a panic attack. Apparently her excuse was, "I didn't have time to clean out the sink because I was running late to class". ...Okay, fine, then you should have just waited until after class to do everything in one go, so that people don't have to clean up behind you. I'm assuming she was also the one dumping makeup-infused water into the sink and not wiping down afterwards, because neither of the other two suitemates used much makeup, and there was this wonderful perpetual coating of brown gunk in and around the shared sink that I had to often grab some tissues and clean out. |
A little coating of mineral oil would have prevented the make up from bonding to the sink to begin with, but I suppose that would have been asking too much of her. Like, soak a cotton ball with baby oil and swab the sink before using anything with pigment, so it will rinse away instead of leaving a stain.

I didn't know that trick either, so thanks!
Not that I'm using make up, but I suppose it will also work for rinsing away hair dye and stuff. |
*takes notes for next time*
also, hello |
Hello cookie. I mean, EverAshwood.
Hair dye is exactly why I learned that trick; although not a good idea for the shower stall, it's great in the sink.
