Zephyr 11-21-2010 01:38 PM

She continued to watch him move around and only chuckled at his response. Zephyr, while not knowing the whole story of his plight, she wasn't completely unaware, and definitely didn't expect any gratuitous remarks. When he forced himself to a stand, her smirk vanished, as she could better see his body as he moved around. She shook her head slowly.

"One of my Captains brought you here last night. She's not one for playing the messenger, so to speak, so it was highly unusual. Especially to bring someone from the divinity side in relatively one piece, back here."

Indeed it was unusual, for Asura is typically one to tear things to pieces rather than bring them back like a cat presenting a mouse to it's master.

"She said it was Ascellus' handy work. Apparently she found you laying around. I don't care much if you trust me or not, especially since this is the encampment for the Order of the Corrupt. Nor do I know the whole story, so perhaps you can explain."

Azeil 11-21-2010 01:49 PM

"I got that impression of her," he said, but he didn't seemed annoyed by it, if anything, somewhat amused. He didn't like being the one to spill actual blood if he could avoid it (perhaps why he was supposed to be a spy), but he did not dislike others doing so.

He knew the woman wanted answers, and he just sort of sighed. "I was punished, obviously," he said, "for doing as my General asked of me." He shrugged like it was no big deal, but it was clear that it made him mad, that the Goddess would punish for such, in his mind, silly reasons. He knew that she knew what they were like when she appointed them, and yet they are punished for, well, being themselves. It angered him.

Zephyr 11-21-2010 01:58 PM

The look on her face, with the half cocked brow clearly gave a sort of 'what the hell' vibe. She was neither amused, nor impressed. What sort of God punished people for following orders? She closed her eyes and brought her left hand up to pinch at the bridge her nose while sighing.

"This is stupid..."

Zephyr trailed off, annoyance in her voice.

"If anything I would expect punishment for insubordination, not the other way around."

Opening her eyes again, she let her hand drop to her hip to look at him with a serious expression.

"This may seem a stupid question, but are you interested in revenge? If you are, I'm sure I can help you out, though I'd expect something in return. Here we don't particularly care who the hell you are, so long as you do what you're told and kill as many as you can. Fairly simple, even if behind the scenes is far more complex."

Azeil 11-21-2010 02:03 PM

Killing wasn't particularly his scene, but it was better than the other way around, he figured. It was a somewhat stupid question, though, as Asura had asked him already. "I've been asked and the answer hasn't changed," he said with a small nod, "I am."

Granted he was leaving out just what his orders had been, but regardless, orders were orders in his mind, and Fenrir had been his superior. "I'd of course not expect a free ride." That was silly to think no matter how he tried to twist it.

Zephyr 11-21-2010 02:11 PM

"Hm."

It was a thoughtful kind of sound. Of course, she had no way of knowing if he'd been asked anything by Asura considering the condition she had brought him in, but his answer gave it away. Her head cocked to the side while her ears twitched in thought.

"What are your assets? You don't strike me as the blood and thunder type. And I have more than enough of those."

Zephyr straightened up then walked around the pit where the fire had long since died to get to the other side. Once in front of him, she folded her arms loosely across her chest. She wasn't being intimating, more relaxed than anything else. Unlike most people, her back was unusually straight so it was more comfortable for her to stand in this manner.

"Either way, I'm sure we can find some use for you. Though your wings make you stand out like a sore thumb around here. I suggest you use those shadows of yours to your advantage. The troops are always raring for fresh blood."

Azeil 11-21-2010 04:54 PM

"Just because it is not my preference to kill does not mean I'm incapable of it," he said simply. He would cross his own arms, but he had a tendancy to accidentally cut himself with his nails. During more peaceful times he kept his nails short and fairly dull, but he couldn't do that right now.

"I can give you information, though, any that I know," he said, "Feed false information." He watched the General. He didn't want to return to his own camp, yet he was sure it could be towards the Corrupts' advantage. "My transporting abilities may also be useful." He could take others with him. Humans weren't the best idea to do so with, but.... it was within his abilities.

Zephyr 11-21-2010 05:06 PM

"I see.. Well, I won't be able to trust you right away, so I will be keeping an eye on you, whether you know it at the time or not. In the meantime, I have some things to think over."

With a nod she moved over to the door to un-ward it so that he could leave and go about his business, whether it was to wash up, or rest, whatever the case may be.

"I suppose the first thing that would be prevalent would be your name. After that, basic information about yourself. Later on, I'll have a few questions that I'll need to ask, though, I'm sure your general may notice you missing. While it may seem cruel to send you back to the place where you were left in the condition you were, I'm not about to be the one responsible for making things worse. So you're free to come and go as you please."

Azeil 11-21-2010 05:15 PM

"Azeil," he said, "Servant of the shadows, born of them." He made a slight bowing motion. One thing he could not make the choice to do was to change the colour of his wings, and he just kept them folded against his back tightly. It seemed reasonable to send him back to where he'd come from, although...

"The Goddess should not know of my absence, correct?" he asked, remembering what the woman had said the day prior, hiding him from her... he hoped so. Looking upon Zephyr for a moment, he simply nodded. "You... should be able to summon me back should you so need to." It was more a hunch than anything. He could usually tell.

Zephyr 11-21-2010 05:32 PM

"It's been a pleasure to meet you. A shame under the circumstances however. I don't believe she would be aware. If she's so keen on punishing someone for something as foolish as what you've done, I can't see her keeping an eye on you. Something tells me she looks at her people as filth, not fit to be at the bottom of her heel. Of course, this is just an assumption. This encampment is under the protection of Braen, and the last place she would probably look. Not that she could look here if she wanted to. Otherwise, we'd have been overrun long ago."

She gave a smirk and chuckled darkly.

"If we require your services, I will send you a call. You'll know it when you see and or hear it depending on the situation."

Azeil 11-21-2010 05:40 PM

Simply nodding a bit, he did bow this time. "Then... I shall see you soon," he said. It was obvious that she could call upon him any time she needed him. Although at his words, he took a few steps back, and melted into the shadows. It was just as obvious that his loyalty was where his well-being was. Clearly it was not with the Goddess.

Not even minutes later, he was back at the Divine camp, not far from Fenrir's tent.

Zephyr 11-21-2010 05:48 PM

Watching as he faded she muttered a soft 'good luck' before heading out of the tent to go about her business. All the troops still weren't here yet making it difficult to organize everyone. She had received word via letter that the final two captains would be in sometime soon which meant that the time was nearly at hand. With the possible aid of this new spy, things might get easier. Only time will tell.

Evening, General~

Asura 11-23-2010 12:21 AM

Asura finally returned to base, covered in so much blood that not a single inch of her previously white robes and snowy hair could be seen.

Yet miraculously, her headdress remained completely unscathed.

She hesitated as she touched down on the ground next to Zephyr's tent, but she decided not to accost her General at that time. Her current state was too unstable for anyone to be safe around her. So she turned on her heels and headed back to her rooms, her path marked by trails and footprints of blood.

As she neared her destination, her breathing became haggard as if she was exhausted to her bones. Her hands shook but remained clasped around her unsheathed blades with a vice-like grip. But she was not weary despite the three full days she had spent on the battlefield without rest, alone in the midst of the thickest of the fighting.

She could not remember how many thousands of Divines had died by her hands, but she could feel every swipe of her swords as she whirled through the blessed ranks like a dervish of white and gold. The dance of war trapped her mind and invaded her senses. It had been eons since she had completely unfettered the savage beast contained by her oath to Zephyr.

When she reached her room, barren of everything except for a table with a single lit candle, she sighed and leaned her back against the door.

"Killing is my only reprieve in this ludicrous world. But how many more lives must I take before Death himself comes for me?" she whispered as her sin-stained hair hid her eyes from the rest of the world. "Death, I wish you would arrive soon. There is nothing in existence that would thrill me more than the opportunity to turn you to ash. And yet... you always evade me... always just a few inches out of reach."

General Zephyr... perhaps... that is my curse.

Delirium 11-23-2010 05:05 PM

Delirium dusted of her jacket and smoothed out the small wrinkles as she made her way towards the encampment. She stood for a moment and called out, "Delirium reporting to the ranks of Chaos."

Sylvandras 11-23-2010 07:35 PM

..... cucumber!

Chamaros 11-25-2010 07:59 AM

Chamaros had returned from the battlefield her kimono covered in blood. She walked over to her General's tent and left a short note, "Anonimar has been slain."

Even if this wasn't true, since Fenrir had saved Anonimar, Chamaros was still victorious. She wasn't satisfied with just this though, she needed more.

Chamaros walked into a solemn tent she had long forgotten. "Have I really been trapped as a male for so long? I run this show and he trashes my room, filthy slob." She walked about the tent trying to tidy up a few things.

She quickly put a seal over the entrance to her tent to keep from others walking in. Chamaros changed out of her blood soaked kimono amongst the light of a giant candle. She liked this 'free' feeling when she changed and liked to do it often.

When she was satisfied in clean clothing, she released the seal and looked around the tent for something dear to her. A picture she held close to her, because of the age of the photo, you could barely tell if the person in it was a male, female, or Chamaros herself.

Her soft eyes glistened against the light of the candle as she looked at the photo and thought to herself, "Why... why such a feeling as this placed upon a girl like me? Such a shame..."

Chamaros sat back in a relaxed state, she deserved this, today she was victorious.
