Yes it's turn based strategy, with mechs. Oh wait, let me use the correct term.. WANZERS. -giggles- I liked it but I think I got stuck somewhere on the second playthrough.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-11-2011 09:31 PM

I remember the odd time a pilot's mech would get destroyed and then there's this little person on the field with a hand-gun shooting at them. I think my friend may have even killed someone like that. Lucky shot, at the end of the battle no less.

Serra Britt 06-11-2011 09:35 PM

Haha, yes, you can do that and it's really funny. Though if you manage to somehow find an empty mech the pilot can climb in. I guess abandonded mechas always have the keys or are REALLY easy to hotwire.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-11-2011 09:37 PM

Well if the person who had them is dead I suppose he wouldn't have bothered to lock up. Or maybe it's a matter of speedy exits. Funny though, to hear the little *crack* and then the metalic groans of the mech as it callapses into a pile of dust and metal.

Serra Britt 06-11-2011 10:00 PM

Yes, that's tremendouly funny expecially with the larger enemy mechs later on. Hmm, I wonder if Front Mission 4 had that too? It probably did not since I don't remember it and that game was just as hard too.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-11-2011 10:04 PM

I only know the third because it appeard in a pile of burned games that my friend got when he bought his PS used. We spent hours going through that stack. There were close to 80. It hardly mattered that some of them didn't work. Front Mission 3 was in there, and another good game called Silent Bomber, though we ignored the story part. Seemed rather dramatic.

Serra Britt 06-11-2011 10:29 PM

I don't think I played Silent Bomber. I do have a very big pile of PS1 games, as well as a bunch of other system's games. I'm kind of a collector o.o

CupcakeDolly 06-11-2011 10:55 PM

Here we go again with the games that I know nothing of... *nods and pretends to be a part of the conversation*

Ooh ooh! *raises hand* I could take a shot at the face sets for Suzerain's characters. =3 Might take a few tries to get it right, since I've never done 'em before, but it'd be free.

Serra Britt 06-11-2011 11:15 PM

I have a feeling he wouldn't mind Cupcake, but he's been mysteriously absent all day... Well, can't expect him to be around all the time xD

Quiet Man Cometh 06-11-2011 11:16 PM

Real life stuff. He said that he wouldn't be around much.

CupcakeDolly 06-11-2011 11:18 PM

Aw, how sad. He was like... a fifth of the reason that I come here anymore. =/

Serra Britt 06-11-2011 11:25 PM

I really enjoy talking to him. Maybe we should all go to his group story and move it in some direction without him xD

Quiet Man Cometh 06-11-2011 11:25 PM

I'm sure he'd like that. :). You posted since I got there, Serra?

And by not on much I mean today. ;)

CupcakeDolly 06-11-2011 11:30 PM

Gah! You had me all scared that he was gone for good! xD;

Serra Britt 06-11-2011 11:30 PM

Nope, I should go do that. I think I might be adding a humorous vein that might not belong though xD

Quiet Man Cometh 06-11-2011 11:31 PM

Occupational hazzard. ;). Such is the nature of the beast.

CupcakeDolly 06-11-2011 11:33 PM

=_=;; Mumble grumble razzmfrazzm...

Quiet Man Cometh 06-11-2011 11:35 PM

Going to have a whack at the group story Cupcake?

Serra Britt 06-11-2011 11:53 PM

You know you want to Cupcake ~ It's fun xD 20-25 words at a time is perfect for me too.

Quiet, you moved to the next title D: Now I really have to have "Sad Face" x.x

Suzerain of Sheol 06-12-2011 12:02 AM

Hey, I'm here. Sorry for not mentioning I'd be gone today. My cousin came over for the day and we were working hard on our collaborative novel, so I didn't get a chance to check in. I just got home from dropping him off (he lives about an hour away).

I have to admit, I didn't know my presence was in such high demand.

But, anyway, no, I'm not going anywhere. Was just busy today. (Truly a rare occurrence for me, I know. :p)

@Serra: You have no cat ears. I barely recognized you.

@Quiet: Thanks for holding down the fort while I was gone. :) (Though, I'm sure it payed well. :p)

@Dolly, that's really generous of you to offer. We can give it a shot, if you're up to it. I'll upload a face spread with one of the characters (they come in blocks of 8, so I'll just fill in one and the other 7 can be used to cover the various emotions, though I think I'd only need 3 or 4). Probably tomorrow, since I'm kind of worn out.

Speaking of which, I probably won't be on too late, tonight, seeing as I've been kind of going non-stop since I woke up this morning (four hours earlier than usual, too!). Feeling a bit drained.

Serra Britt 06-12-2011 12:05 AM

Well at least you came back to us for a little while!

-resists hugging yet again-

I'm cosplaying from Breath of Fire 2 still, I'm sure you can figure out who I am :3

Suzerain of Sheol 06-12-2011 12:31 AM

Hmm... is that Nina? Sorry if not, it's been... longer than I'd care to remember since I played that.

And I'm reminded of a conversation I had with Quiet before joining Trisphee, something along the lines of "If I even once get *hugged*, *huggled*, *glomped*, *nom'd*, *licked*, or any variation of the above, I'm out." :p

And... I might have, sort of not taken today into account for my plans of getting my game released. I'm sorry for that, but it won't be too much longer, I promise. I'm testing the last chapter now, which should be the least problematic out of any of them since it's the most recent.

Though... I did find a script online the other day that adds in a really neat level-up result screen that I'm tempted to try incorporating before I put it up, too. Luckily, it looks to be pretty straightforward, so it should hopefully go in easily enough.

Serra Britt 06-12-2011 12:38 AM

No worries on the game thing, you were doing something else today and that's understandable. Only half your life must revolve around Trisphee!

And certainly from what I've read about you, I'm not surprised you don't want hugs. It's okay, I can be friends with people like that, I'm good at resisting! I have lots of others whom I can, umm... attack :p

Suzerain of Sheol 06-12-2011 12:52 AM

Okay, trying something here, I hope it works. I have a main character list and an equipment chart for my game that I uploaded to my Hotmail Skydrive. Hopefully that lets you view it. Let me know, if not, though I'm heading to bed now.

If it does work, do note the multiple pages on the equipment sheet. (which, despite its title, is conspicuously missing an "items" page at the moment. Sorry.)

Serra Britt 06-12-2011 01:02 AM

I'm so happy to see them aged 20+ Too many games use 15-18 year olds and in my opinion that tends to cut into the story a bit. Grandia being a huge exception... I feel like I'm watching a master at work here or something :3

Edit: Oh, and yes Suzerain, this is Nina, I put my reference pic in 10,000 Cat paws charity since that's where I was at the time when I did this.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-12-2011 09:21 AM

Oh, they worked? Awesome!

And, honestly, I kind of wanted to make some of them older, but unfortunately, I couldn't since... well, Tristan and Orec are still squires at the beginning. Honestly, they're probably too old, but... they don't act like teenagers and I do hate that trope you mentioned.

Oh, by the way, those will all be playable characters at some point. :p Only about half of them are at the moment, though.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-12-2011 07:13 PM

Blah, double post, but I need to rant about something.

For whatever reason, I decided to watch the finale of Camelot just now. I'm not even going to get into everything that was wrong with it, but one thing just stands out as stupefyingly bad writing/directing.

So... a certain knight, who might have a reputation as being a great warrior, is killed in this episode. By a mob of peasants. And do you want to know why he was killed? Because he WENT INTO BATTLE WEARING PAJAMAS. I'm not even joking.

Um... hello, the whole point of being a knight is being well-protected by the armor you can afford thanks to being a vassal-lord. Training will only take you so far. I kid you not, there was not a single weapon in said peasant horde that could have harmed him, had he been wearing plate and chain, with an arming coat and a gambeson (a camail and helm, obviously). But... no, he decided it was more strategically sound to fight in his PJs. And they expect me to feel grief over his death? Yeah... right.

I mean, even Arthur, who's played by a model and couldn't possibly go to war with his flowing gold locks on full display, was wearing a brigandine.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-12-2011 07:23 PM

What was the strategic purpose behind said pajamas, precisely?

Suzerain of Sheol 06-12-2011 07:26 PM

Uh... I have no idea. I saw his death coming two weeks ago, and I figure they just wanted to get rid of him. And, seriously, if he'd been in full armor, I don't think there's anything this peasant horde could have done to hurt him, since he wasn't fighting alone, by any means.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-12-2011 07:53 PM

Maybe we're supposed to feel grief for him because he went unarmoured, and therefore with more nobility, into a field of like combatants. He didn't even have a sword, we must grieve!

Suzerain of Sheol 06-12-2011 07:57 PM

I'll have none of your Devil's advocacy in this thread.!

:p

...we only represent the Devil pro bono here.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-12-2011 08:05 PM

My kingdom for a dissenting opinion!

Serra Britt 06-12-2011 08:13 PM

Maybe he wanted to die, I guess? :p Of course maybe he was fighting in his PJs because he had just finished making love, since there seems to be a lot of that in that show anyways.

Does it make me a nerd that I know what brigandine actually is? XD

Quiet Man Cometh 06-12-2011 08:15 PM

Me too, so yes. :)

Serra Britt 06-12-2011 08:26 PM

I still remember in junior high I did a report on weapons and armor, and the different varieties. When everyone else was doing sports or animals and the like xD

Suzerain of Sheol 06-12-2011 08:27 PM

I did one of those, too. Sixth grade English class.

Serra Britt 06-12-2011 08:30 PM

Suzerain, how do you think I did on my cosplay? I didn't get your input on this one yet :p

Quiet Man Cometh 06-12-2011 08:30 PM

I liked animals. I did a report on flamingos. Though I was one of the few people in my rural university who knew what a baldric was when we were reading pre-victorian British poetry. Wherever Tennyson falls.

Oh, sorry. She looks pretty good, I think. The only thing that could really be improved in my opinion is the wings. Too bad Feather Folk doesn't come in black. >_>

Serra Britt 06-12-2011 08:51 PM

The whisper Wings do come in black and they are a bit bigger than these ones. None of them are really as big as the wings from the reference picture though.
