"Cute!" Derpy waddles over, hugs the panel, then wraps it around himself and waddles away. "Tank you!"

Kitalpha Hart 02-29-2020 01:24 PM

Never seen it

trystan830 02-29-2020 04:12 PM

*high fives Den*

uhm... Derpy, i'm gonna need that back for the blanket....

Kit, it's an 80s movie with David Bowie as the Goblin King Jareth, and i totally love it.

Worm: don't go that way!
{she changes direction}
Worm: if she kept going that way, she would’ve gone straight to that castle!

Derpy McBlueEyes 02-29-2020 06:24 PM

"But I want one!" Derpy pouts, clinging to the square.

trystan830 02-29-2020 06:24 PM

you can borrow it until i'm ready for it, okay?

Kaderin Triste 02-29-2020 07:11 PM

Lol...guess it's time to make Derpy another blanket...
XD

trystan830 02-29-2020 07:25 PM

LOL, i guess so

Kitalpha Hart 02-29-2020 07:57 PM

Uuuuugh my five year old niece decided that standing in the corner was better than cleaning up and keeping the tv on

Derpy McBlueEyes 02-29-2020 08:17 PM

"Yay!" Derpy holds the square around his neck like a cape and runs around the room.

trystan830 02-29-2020 08:22 PM

Derpy, you're adorable

Ruby 03-01-2020 10:09 AM

I like to make blankets for my stuffed animals too xD

Kaderin Triste 03-01-2020 01:00 PM

I've made Derpy a small tie blanket with a coffee print on one side and a donuts and rainbows print on the other. And also a shawl. But I think he needs a lighter, knit blankey now. XD
Something he can turn into a cape! Lol

Ruby 03-01-2020 05:53 PM

I wanna see!! Is it like fleece or something?

Ruby 03-01-2020 05:57 PM

Started following your Instagram Derpy :3

Kaderin Triste 03-01-2020 07:21 PM

I think this is the only pic of it I have uploaded at the moment.

Den 03-01-2020 09:07 PM

I'm about to take a seam ripper to a duvet/comforter, because it's got eyelet lace sewn on by my grandma decades ago, and I want the lace. yards, and yards, and yards of lace.

KittyBeary 03-01-2020 09:20 PM

I'm gonna get back to making plushes today. ;u; I need to get them done.

Den 03-01-2020 09:41 PM

lace has been removed, and I'll get it washed and bleached tomorrow, because it is showing its lifetime of being the bottom of a comforter for over 20 years.

Ruby 03-01-2020 11:16 PM

Whatcha gonna do with it Den?

Kitty: oh cool what plushies do you make?

Kaderin: very cute :3

Den 03-02-2020 10:43 AM

I'm not sure yet. Probably use it for trim on a skirt or blouse, or both...

Ruby 03-02-2020 04:42 PM

That will be lovely I’m sure :3

Kaderin Triste 03-02-2020 06:28 PM

Excited because I should have a paycheck waiting at the musuem tonight that I can pick up and deposit. So then I can pay bills and hopefully have enough left to buy some fabric (probably just a cheapish knit material) to test out my skirt pattern before using the good fabric!

Ruby 03-02-2020 06:31 PM

I wish I was good with fabric haha it's like the one thing that hates me xD

Kaderin Triste 03-02-2020 09:27 PM

I'm not so sure that I'm that good with fabric yet. I've only made a few simple things using cotton. Have not yet done anything more complicated with stretchier materials yet...
>.>
Lol

Kitalpha Hart 03-02-2020 09:30 PM

I've gotta remake the pinafore I made. The material I used is thin
I might just double it up?

Den 03-02-2020 10:33 PM

Cleaned the outside of a vintage suitcase that used to belong to my Grandma. Gotta tear out the liner and clean underneath that before replacing the liner with a new one, because the liner has mold.

Kaderin Triste 03-05-2020 09:20 PM

Picked up some solid purple fabric to test/learn my new skirt pattern. Was gonna try making it tomorrow/this weekend. Realized I forgot thread and also forgot to pick up my schedule for next week. XP
Oh well. I can cut the pieces at least.

Den 03-05-2020 09:25 PM

test-knit of a project is going good so far, but part of me is wondering wtf the designer was thinking, changing to reverse stockinette for one aspect...

Kaderin Triste 03-07-2020 07:37 PM

XP
I have too many things I want to work on when I get home.
Should work on prioritizing projects more. I tend to want to do everything all at once and then I get overwhelmed and I don't do anything.

trystan830 03-07-2020 07:39 PM

the panels in the top half of my geeky heirloom blanket are all completed!

https://images4-f.ravelrycache.com/u...32_medium2.jpg

Kaderin Triste 03-07-2020 07:41 PM

Nice!
I recognize most of those references.

trystan830 03-07-2020 07:46 PM

thanks!

the first row is the mice and 42 from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Smaug from the Hobbit (2 panels); and the Millenium Falcon from Star Wars.

the second row is K9 from Doctor Who; Bill Cypher from Gravity Falls; dinos from Firefly; and the Worm from Labyrinth.

Kaderin Triste 03-07-2020 07:50 PM

Ah, I didn't know K9 (because I just haven't had access to a lot of Doctor Who, so my main knowledge of that is simpler stuff) and the Gravity Falls one. I've heard of Gravity Falls, but never seen it.

The rest, I'm super aware of. Though Smaug I really only would have 100% known as Smaug because you had said what it was previously, otherwise, it just looks like a general dragon, which could be from anything...
And I haven't really gotten much into Star Wars, but the Millennium Falcon is just so iconic that most people could tell you what it's from probably.

trystan830 03-07-2020 07:54 PM

my daughters would watch Gravity Falls when it was on regular Disney channel, but then they stopped watching it, and the final season went to Disney HD, which we don't have... so then i watched it on that sketchy website i have bookmarked XD

K9 started out with the Fourth Doctor, and he had an episode with the Tenth Doctor... and a few spin-offs. i've watched them all :)

and yeah, the Falcon makes sense. the Falcon is one of my fave ships. XD

Kaderin Triste 03-07-2020 07:56 PM

Someday I want to watch Doctor Who, but my phone doesn't really do videos, so unless I can download them to watch offline, I'm SoL. That or finding them at an affordable price and just buying them on DvD are my only options for watching....pretty much anything right now.

Or make friends with someone really rich who only wants friendship from me and will pay for internet for me for life.
But that'll never happen.

trystan830 03-07-2020 08:12 PM

i was lucky that my library system has a number of them, quite a bit of classic Who, and just about all of new Who, so yaay! and for what they didn't have, i filled in with a few of my sites i have links to. but some of the early episodes (First and Second Doctor) just don't exist anymore, the BBC had some rule where they junked or recorded over older episodes. audio exists, so some episodes i watched were the sound with just production pics for the visual, and some they've animated, which is really awesome!

Kitalpha Hart 03-07-2020 08:17 PM

Meanwhile I would've gotten exactly zero of those references without being told

trystan830 03-07-2020 09:41 PM

eh, it's fine. :)
