OMG me too, Black and Crimson specifically! Hence my avi hair! I intend to do something like this in real life though my real hair is much longer and I don't have bangs so the red will be a streak.

Natsunaine 02-09-2016 10:31 PM

XD im the same way you should see my avi on gaia xD

I bet it rocks. ;)

Natsunaine 02-09-2016 10:39 PM

It does xD my name on gaia is the same as here if you get curious enough to look xD

RedRum 02-09-2016 10:49 PM

I might, some kinda curiosity keeps luring me back there. I'm DarkAvengerThe if you wanna look up my account.

Natsunaine 02-09-2016 11:11 PM

Generally rps are what lure me there xD

All of my rp buddies from tris are no longer active here another reason as to why im vaguely posting here

RedRum 02-09-2016 11:30 PM

That makes sense, I'm sorry to hear that.
If I were into RPing, I'd offer to do something with you. It's just not my thing.

RedRum 02-09-2016 11:33 PM

Sorry, double post because Trisphee flipped out on me while submitting.

Glitch 02-10-2016 01:13 AM

I can't get into rping either ._. I used to all the time just 1 on 1 rps. It's probably because my last one went on for years and got so involved and then I lost the friendship . . . and this crushing feeling of loss on over my characters . . .xD

Natsunaine 02-10-2016 01:25 AM

Roleplaying has and will probably be for a while and huge addiction of mine xD

It's hard finding good rp partners though, I tend to um.. Well.. Post walls xD my current record is like...53 paragraphs I believe? Then again that was with someone who was just as bad as me when it came to walls, so in reality we just fueled each other xD

On average when not with someone who can wall with me. I make 4-10 paragraphs depending on the material I am working with.

RedRum 02-10-2016 01:41 AM

For me, I have an ADD thing with my writing, I've never finished any fanfiction I've started and when there is someone else involved that makes it more uncomfortable for me to abandon it because I'm someone who doesn't like to ruffle feathers. In addition having to base my writing on someone else's ideas isn't my strength.

Natsunaine 02-10-2016 01:43 AM

I understand, It actually helps me with my writers block, I often find myself coming up with new ideas from what I post with other people, Plus its a neat hobby that doesn't really take anything but a willing mind to do.

RedRum 02-10-2016 01:47 AM

I'll admit that I quite enjoyed doing something of a one-on-one RP fanfic method with my best friend for several of our fandoms. For some reason with her it works for me. She's gotten hella busy though so we haven't done it in years and although it might not have seemed like it at the time, we had our dry spells.

Lawtan 02-10-2016 11:43 AM

I don't really like roleplaying fandoms...if I like a material in something, I'll tend to try to research its makeup, deconstruct/reconstruct it, and then have a solid idea for an original writing that I usually feel so inadequate to write that I drop it because I hate myself ;-;
As for original-esq RP's...if it doesn't reach a conclusion/loses momentum I tend to blame myself...

(On the other hand, I'd love to be able to have help to make the...15 or more stories in my head come to life...life meaning paper...I have no intention of actually sending humanity back to the Stone Age and letting scientifically recreated Dinosaurs run loose)

I'm like this as well, I tend to dissect the hell out of a fandom. Some would call that nitpicking but I consider an indicator that I was captured by the material.

That's another thing about me, I'm kind of a jealous person. So I never read fanfiction (There was one exception back in my Twilight obsession days but It wasn't finished at the time and I'd lost interest in reading it by the time it was) but even just hearing about intriguing fanfiction concepts that I might have liked to explore can make me feel inadequate.

Demonskid 02-10-2016 03:53 PM

I use to write fanfic ... i get bored easy and find other things to do and forget about my fanfics.. i shoulda stuck with oneshots xD

RedRum 02-10-2016 03:57 PM

I'm just too much of a perfectionist with my wording and sentence structure. It'll bug me until it's my definition of perfect.

Lawtan 02-10-2016 04:02 PM

^This. Though perfection doesn't exist.

I am actually trying to study (on my own time) old structures to improve authenticity when writing fiction set earlier in time.

And Law can be any size :D

*Tickles DK's hair before jumping off and running*

Demonskid 02-10-2016 04:10 PM

My grammar and shiz is terrible xD

someone once got on my case on a character name once. I had only ever seen the english versions of anime, so in InuYasha, Kirara is spelled and pronounced Kilala in english. So, I used Kilala. Someone got on my case about it. And someone else defended me. ._., the drama over what is the right spelling when they're both considered right spellings..

I once saw someone flame a Sailor Moon fanfic for using Serina instead of Usagi xD

OxO law can be any size? D8 scary

Lawtan 02-10-2016 04:39 PM

*Insert Law's hammy evil laughter here*
*Ham is summoned by the laughter*

Demonskid 02-10-2016 04:42 PM

OAO!!! -runs away- ewwwww!!! -hides- ;o;

Our own versions of it do. That's what I was referring to.

I can understand the debate, some fans don't support dubs, like my best friend, anime IS more authentic in Japanese.

Still to get on your case about preferring the English name in a fanfiction is quite excessive.

I'm reminded of when I was driven out of a community once when suddenly the collective started bashing me for a spelling error in a fanfic I'd posted. There was way more to it than that but that is where it escalated from.

Demonskid 02-10-2016 08:29 PM

@n@ Dk is a terrible speller.. I rely on spellcheck =w= -pets PC-

(Kirara vs Kilala, technically its still the same name because of pronounciation. its like my name Jessie would be spelled Jeshii in japan. Candy is spelled Kandii (though im sure some americans spell it that way anyway) Logan = Rogan, Rin = Lynn, so on)

The sailor moon thing i saw was ridiculous though o-o i mean I prefer jap, but not everyone can or are able to watch subs..

Spellcheck has had to cover my ass at times as well.

I'm familiar with concept of American names having different spellings in Japanese, I took a couple of classes some years ago. They don't even have the beginning letter of the legal spelling of my name (C). Legal, because I started spelling it differently a few years ago. Instead the 'C' would be replaced with 'Shi'.

ml1201 02-11-2016 10:37 AM

I can do my name easily enough, a friend from college showed me, but my last name is a nit different. x'D

...I have no clue how this happened...

Demonskid 02-11-2016 12:51 PM

Rum - Mom's name starts with a C but because of how its pronounced, in japanese she'd need to use K. xD

My point was more on the ones that started with L. ouo How we have to use R's to make our L sounds in japanese.

Law - -noms on the apples and caramel- nummy "<(>w<)>"

ml1201 02-11-2016 04:14 PM

And my last name starts with am L, which is why I mentioned it. XD

Demonskid 02-11-2016 04:26 PM

Emu-Eru-Ichi-Ni-Maru-Ichi

OuO Your user name gets long xD

Mine can translate to Oniko x3

Right, 'C', can make two different sounds, my legal 'C' makes the soft sound as in 'cent'. So it would need to be replaced in Japanse with the closest sound to an 'S', which is ironic because the spelling I use now starts with an 'S'.

I understood your point and was adding my experience with the same concept.

That was the hardest thing for me when I was in Japanese classes BTW, I never could get the hang of Katakana or Hiragana. :p-dead:

Demonskid 02-11-2016 06:40 PM

I have a pretty good handle of both Kana.. its the Kanji QoQ

I have a Japanese Learning hangout somewhere. I wonder if it'd be ok to revive it o3o i should go ask coda.

I'm totally self study ;-; i can't afford skoolz, but there are a lot of awesome sites out there that help x3

RedRum 02-11-2016 06:42 PM

I kept all my notes and handouts from my Japanese classes, perhaps I could share them in your Japanese hangout.

Demonskid 02-11-2016 06:45 PM

*Q* Please do! I'll give you the link. It's not illegal to bring back a thread if new materials are posted.

*u* -clings to Rum-

RedRum 02-11-2016 06:48 PM

Will do then. :)
