...-squeezes a few drops of duck fluid into their tongue-

......

...This is just ketchup.

Seems you got the Lucky Chinese: a cheap peking duck knockoff with plastic ducky and ketchup straight from the bottle instead of sweet and sour sauce.

mdom 11-01-2018 12:04 PM

I DO NOT WANT DUCK PEE OK
just orange juice

Espy 11-01-2018 12:21 PM

Ew, gross.

...actually, now that I think about it, even though I’m... colloquially Chinese, I have no clue what a peking duck entails.

Kitty hatsssssssss! I gots them all!

Death by Mirrors 11-01-2018 06:38 PM

I think sweet and sour sauce probably isn't even the one they serve it with. Black bean or hoisin seems more likely. But then again I've never actually had peking duck either - usually I go with either Eight Treasures or chicken with bamboo and mushrooms.

I really like drunk chicken.

...is that what it’s called in english?

Derpy McBlueEyes 11-01-2018 08:16 PM

Derpy begins getting really concerned for his avian friends.

mdom 11-01-2018 09:10 PM

I almost read 'drunk children'

Death by Mirrors 11-02-2018 06:32 AM

Don't ask me, I merely translate menu names myself without looking up whether they're actually called so in English. Another nice dish my nearest restaurant offers is "ants on the tree". Gotta love talking names.

So far I never had drunk chicken, but I imagine the wine would give it an interesting taste.

Espy 11-02-2018 08:29 AM

It’s... definitely not for everyone. Kind of an acquired taste.

mdom 11-02-2018 12:03 PM

Hope it doesn't taste like alcohol

Espy 11-02-2018 06:06 PM

I mean. It doesn't taste like alcohol itself, but definitely has a really, really strong flavor of the liquor... because that's what it was marinated in.

mdom 11-02-2018 08:12 PM

Hmm I'll take the regular chicken then

Death by Mirrors 11-03-2018 06:10 AM

I'd take the drunk chicken, because I enjoy trying new things. Going to look for a recipe, because I haven't seen any place here offer something like that. (They do have flambé ice cream though, which is another nice thing you can do with alcohol)
