Can... can I have one day where people don't call me to babysit or give them a ride somewhere or need to use my internet or ya know just A DAY OFF?!

I am exhausted and I can't sleep and my period is looming and I want to die.

In hobby/crafty news I made slime.

Damies 02-08-2017 05:27 PM

NOTHING LIKE THREE DAYS OFF DUE TO SNOW!! LOLOL

killmeplz

Glitch 02-08-2017 05:51 PM

At least the snow is pretty?

SparX 02-08-2017 10:32 PM

Yeah but the snow has almost got me into so many accidents recently T.T
I'm taking today to art, since hubby isn't back till 10. More odd animal hybrids because I fail at making cute things.

Damies 02-08-2017 11:42 PM

@Glitch: It was pretty last week now it is so deep I could drown in it. ; n;

@Sparx:: You remind me I want to take more pictures but I can't get out of the house much due to the snoooooow.

SparX 02-08-2017 11:46 PM

I have tons of pictures of the snow too but havent posted any of them anywhere XD
Our silver thaw(is that what its called?) left about an inch of ice on the branches of my corkscrew willows and locust trees

Damies 02-08-2017 11:49 PM

That sounds pretttttyyyyy and deadly. > n>

I took this in December. 8D

SparX 02-09-2017 12:01 AM

Yeah I am not that fancy XD You got some great landscape photo skills =O
I stick to editing mine to make them surrealish personally XD
there are a few so to save room they have been spoiled XD

Damies 02-09-2017 01:19 AM

Those are all really great! I love the first flower edit!

I am pretty much a photo-nut in that I take tons of pictures and never delete any. > n> Ad sometimes they wind up on my flickr! xD

SparX 02-11-2017 10:53 AM

I haven't updated my flickr in ages
Not sure if I even remember my password....
D:
Thank you though XD I would love to do more but need the funds to get my equipment back up and working XD
And same on never deleting. I have albums of years on my phone just covered in thousands of pictures that have never been showed to anyone XD

Damies 02-15-2017 01:44 AM

I have been way too busy....

SparX 02-15-2017 01:59 AM

Doing what?

Damies 02-15-2017 02:15 AM

Went to a friend's birthday party, Stayed at my sisters over night, drove a friend around a bunch cuz she is a ride mooch.... played pokemon go a bit, and general random busy stuff.

SparX 02-15-2017 02:21 AM

so busy! did you hobby at all?

Damies 02-15-2017 03:52 AM

I made lots of slime? Does that count? xDD

Kaderin Triste 02-15-2017 03:14 PM

I say yes. It counts and it's way more than I've done lately...

Damies 02-16-2017 06:21 AM

I am in loads of pain from chipping away at 4-6 inch deep ice with a pick axe. My sister's place had solid ice covering her back porch and she has water coming in her wall by her porch, oddly by the side the ice/water was not pooling at. There was mold on the back of her bookshelf that was in the wet area, mold under the carpet, general water damage to the wall. I also shoveled as much snow as possible away from her house on the side where the leaky wall is to prevent it melting and running towards the wall. Then when I got home I spread salt on my driveway and was shoveling more ice off my own driveway when a substation in the next town over effectively blew up and cut power to 3 towns including mine. So I drove to my other sister's to give a light to my mom who was baby sitting at my that house. 45 minutes later the power was back on and we came home and I worked on our driveway again. So I cleared 6 feet by maybe 8 feet of 2inch deep ice off my driveway. And now it is 2:30am and I am exhausted.

Damies 02-18-2017 06:31 AM

Big ole slime gif under the spoiler!

Kaderin Triste 02-18-2017 08:06 PM

Lol. It looks so fun!

I have come to the conclusion that I like slime in the same way I like bath bombs. They're cool to watch, but I don't want to use them.

That's half way to the slime side.... yesss gooooood....

Kaderin Triste 02-18-2017 11:26 PM

I don't like the feel of slime. So I will probably never actually want to own or make any.

Damies 02-19-2017 08:22 PM

What about the feel is icky to ya? My slime is runny, but not overly sticky, so I enjoy it very much. xD

Kaderin Triste 02-20-2017 06:18 PM

I don't like...I don't know...the squishy, slimy feel of it? I don't know how to describe it.

Damies 02-21-2017 11:08 PM

Ugh I am broke again... and I meant to buy some supplies fo making stuff but noooooo.

Kaderin Triste 02-21-2017 11:46 PM

Being broke sucks! Which reminds me, I need to get a check in the bank sometime this week...

SparX 02-22-2017 12:40 AM

I finally got some hat pins I had produced given back to me by a friend who was storing them, just gotta get the etsy up and running again and I can start selling again =3
I also have a plan for a few new pin designs I'm thinking about working on tomorrow....

Den 02-22-2017 07:49 PM

I tried building a paper model of a stormtrooper helmet... and messed up, so I ended up having to trash the whole thing (I'd glued a part upside down, and when I noticed, and tried to fix it? tore key anchor points). So I have to wait until Dad's printer has more ink in it to print it off again, or I have to save up to have the local print shop print it off for me.

Kaderin Triste 02-23-2017 02:57 AM

Aww that sucks, Den!
Hopefully you can try again soon though!

Den 02-24-2017 11:53 PM

I'll work on a second attempt when I'm able to print off stuff without it looking washed out (Dad's printer is low on color ink, which affects how everything comes out), but for now, I'm working on scaling up some pepakura stuff for a costume, though I suspect I'll have to use poster board for it in the end.

dragoness129 02-25-2017 03:37 PM

A 3D printer would be pretty awesome to use to craft things! I'd make World of Warcraft armor and weapons! It'd be awesome!

Den 02-25-2017 09:23 PM

The Do Space in Omaha has a 3D printer... I have a LONG list of things I wanna print out, but to do so, I need money to pay for the materials...

dragoness129 02-25-2017 09:49 PM

Yeah, sad everything costs so much!

Kaderin Triste 02-26-2017 01:21 PM

One of my kind of friends has a small 3d printer but I don't think they use it for much.

Den 02-26-2017 08:24 PM

There's a fan-built Transformer that is a crossover with another franchise that I love that has a free to download pattern for 3D printing... I'm estimating it'd cost me between $10 and $15 to print...

dragoness129 02-27-2017 01:09 PM

That actually isn't too terribly bad, Den.

Kaderin Triste 02-27-2017 04:09 PM

Wow. That's actually extremely cheap!
O.O
I am surprised.

This is my favorite slime recipe that a friend and I refined from a video that had the basic measurements on youtube.

Quote:

145ml PVA Glue
50ml ReNu Lens Solution
30ml Water
10g-11g Baking Soda (slightly less than a table spoon)
300ml Hot water

Mix Baking soda and 300ml water, set aside
Pour Glue, lens solution and 30ml water, color/scent into bowl then mix thoroughly.
Pour Glue mix into baking soda mix let stand 15-30 seconds
Gently fold slime together until there are no more strands and it is a solid mass.
Hold slime in bowl and pour out excess water into empty glue mix container.
Knead slime for 10-15 minutes to reduce stickiness.
Store in tupperware or ziploc baggy.
