I saw a frozen dinner in the freezer that looked good. Then I thought "no, I probably shouldn't eat that; it'll be full of fat". THEN I read the label and it was not! ; u;

...but this other thing I saw, which was not very big, mind you... 44 grams of fat. o_o I hope she don't expect me to eat that.

Red Lion 04-08-2013 10:07 PM

OH LAIRD.

DX That's a lot of fats.

We ready to fire up the steams?

uncledaddy 04-08-2013 10:10 PM

It was bad enough when I read "22". It got worse when I read "servings per package: 2". WTF. There ain't enough celery in the world to make me feel good about that.

Is yes, I think.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 04:44 PM

Wirrisu where you be at?

Anatidae 04-09-2013 05:26 PM

Can I join you? C:

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:27 PM

Sure, welcome to the pub!

How are you doing?

Anatidae 04-09-2013 05:28 PM

Thanks! C: I'm doing really well, ta. How about you?

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:28 PM

Doing alright, wondering where my buddy willis is at the moment.

Anatidae 04-09-2013 05:29 PM

That's good. C: Hope you find them soon

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:30 PM

He'll be back at some point....

anyway, whatcha up to on this fine day?

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 05:31 PM

wirrisu has arrived. :B Howdy

Anatidae 04-09-2013 05:31 PM

That's good C: Not a lot really ha. It's half ten at night here so my day's pretty much over. I played games all day. Bonus of having time off. :P Yourself?

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:32 PM

WILLIS! *Pounce*

Whassup?

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:33 PM

Anatidae: I got back from school not too long ago, it's about 5:30 P.M here so the day's about half over for me.

Half past ten...You in Britain?

Anatidae 04-09-2013 05:34 PM

Ah, least you're home now. C: I always hated school ha. I feel the same about college.

Yep, I'm in Scotland.

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 05:35 PM

nuffin. I took a walk today and found the church. And I started on my Kelly thing.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:37 PM

Anatidae: I like college a little better actually, more personal freedom, although my campus is sort of slummy and it smells like greasy fried food and dirty shoes.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:38 PM

Willis: I see, I still haven't finished writing my Herbie thing, I should probably get on that soon...

Anatidae 04-09-2013 05:38 PM

I don't like the people I'm in college with this year. I start uni in September though so I'm pretty excited. I'll be moving out on my own then too which is pretty cool.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:41 PM

I'm in no financial position to move out yet or I'd have done it by now, I don't have a job at the moment and all the money I made from my previous one went into college, the people at my campus are alright, I got plenty of friends.

Anatidae 04-09-2013 05:43 PM

I get a student loan and a bursary when I start uni so along with some part time work when I move down there I'll be able to pay rent on halls no bother.

The people at my college this year have no sense of humour and take things way too seriously so I don't really get on with them.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:47 PM

I don't qualify for financial aid so I've been paying out of pocket, it's been kinda tough on my wallet....>.>

I know one or two people like that, but the worst people to deal with around here are the wannabe activists, everything is about some kind of political cause and it gets pretty out of hand sometimes. Someone set fire to the bathroom twice already.

Anatidae 04-09-2013 05:50 PM

I couldn't afford to go to uni if I didn't get financial aid and my free tuition fees. D;

Jeez, what did they achieve by setting fire to the bathroom?

What is it you're studying?

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:55 PM

I'm studying business and office administrations. I'm also going to attempt to get a certification as a Microsoft programmer. Not the most interesting thing in the world but art isn't going to get me very far just yet.

And I have no idea but it's happened twice and a few weeks ago someone was caught on campus after hours selling crack under one of the outdoor stairwells. My college really is a shit place to be.

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 05:57 PM

ach, my grandma came home and decided to talk to me... on and on and on about things I already know, rubbing it in how I don't have a job or a future or a life. THANKS 8D Every good day needs a nice dose of depression to wash away all that icky sunshine.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 05:58 PM

Blah, she's being depressing because it's a nice day. She's gotta balance all the warm weather and sunshine out somehow.

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 06:01 PM

'Swhat it feels like. -_- I mentioned having discovered the possibilities of independent publishing and she started on how I should do that because even the lowest of "normal" jobs doesn't want me because I'm broken and maybe one day I'll have to admit it and try for Disability again because she can't support me forever. I mentioned that writing required a lot of time and concentration, and she went forever about how time is all I have and yadda yadda.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 06:03 PM

Uuuuuuggh,

Wait, Independent publishing?

and I wish they'd quit with the whole "Broken" thing, maybe if you humor them and get tested or examined and it comes up with negative results they'll quit.

Anatidae 04-09-2013 06:05 PM

Ooh, good luck with becoming a microsoft programmer! :) It sounds a pretty nifty job.

Jeez, your college is pretty hardcore.

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 06:17 PM

Yes, I stumbled across this
https://www.createspace.com/pub/l/di...88&utm_id=6072
and got it in my head that maybe I could sell some cheap short stories or something, maybe even attempt a whole book, just to add another possibility (however small) for making money. :s I don't know how to explain to her that I don't really like the thought of turning writing into work as she was implying I do, though. It's one thing to make something for yourself and happen to be able to sell it, quite another to be expected to produce things regularly to suit the tastes of buyers. Writing and art for me are just too temperamental for the latter to work out.

Problem with that is, what results do or don't turn out will pretty much depend on the individual doing the testing. I have had just as many professionals agree with my family (and unfortunately, those were the first ones and the ones for which my family was present) as those who didn't. Everything that's "wrong" with me could fit a variety of different categories, some of which are nothing unusual and some of which are potential "disability" fodder. And knowing how eager my family is to label me with something like that as opposed to doing any actual work to deal with the real issues themselves and find ways around them, they will latch onto absolutely anything (even if it's just someone agreeing that there are some features which are SHARED by so-and-so condition, without actually saying that it IS said condition because it could just as well be something else) and try to use it against me just as they always have.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 06:22 PM

Anatidae : Thanks, and yeah, it's the cheapest school in the district for a reason.

Willis: OOOOHHHHH I COULD DO DAT!

And so could you, even if it just brings in a little at a time it's a start.

...I could publish the ragged man.

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 06:25 PM

Yes. Yes, you could. o 3o

Thing is, I wouldn't know what to write and I doubt I'd be able to write anything long enough for that...

Red Lion 04-09-2013 06:26 PM

...We could always write something together, I mean, a collection of short stories isn't that hard.

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 06:32 PM

Not sure how collaboration works with this thing, but it's a possibility.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 06:34 PM

Indeed, at the very least you could do a book of poems.

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 06:38 PM

Can't imagine why anyone would buy that, but yes...

Red Lion 04-09-2013 06:39 PM

Well people like poems,

...roo I need to get on re-writing my Kurt story.

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 06:47 PM

Yeah, but to buy them? It's not like a book where you have to keep it around for a while to actually read the whole thing...

and yes, you do.

Red Lion 04-09-2013 06:56 PM

You never know, and what do you have to lose by presenting it for sale?

uncledaddy 04-09-2013 07:01 PM

Not much, I suppose, but eh I'm not getting my hopes up.
