My laptop was my macbook ;-; So not cheap to repair or replace >.<
I always brake PCs and I like the colors on macs better. I've had it for 5 years now and up until last night when it got wet it has never failed me! I'm really hoping it is ok. It was on but closed when it got wet and I wiped the top off and then opened it up and only the power button felt wet. It turned off but I don't know if water got in there or not. My photo albums also got ruined so I am waiting until those feel dry to try turning it back on. |
I used to have a tiny tiny cellphone too talk about eye squinting strain omg headache central :/ I got lucky a few months back and was donated a used Lg stylo it's a big one it sucks for fitting in your pocket and sucks at making calls because I feel like I have a book up to my ear lol but it's good for games/avis
I hear rice drys out electronic items |
Rice does work. So does popcorn. The problem is you might get it up under your keys.
|
Yes or in the ports. I read it was just a better idea not to use rice although silica packets would work. I don't have a car though . . . or any idea where to get that many silica packets ._.
|
I actually save silica packs for this reason! They come in vitamins, and all other types of weird things, Ijust put them in a little box for when (and if) I will need them. Hope your computer didn't break. I would be freaking out about it.
|
rice generally only works for something soaking wet XD a lot of 'omg rice works' is psychosomatic. things naturally dry in climates that are not moist and if you believe your rice will dry it /faster/ and you have no measure of rice-in and riceless drying then you will feel deep within you that it helped when in reality it simply comforted you to have it XD
better do your best to take the thing in question apart, wipe it down gently and set the parts out to dry |
I have always wondered whether rice is just a placebo, so to speak, and whether the item would just naturally dry in the same amount of time even if it wasn't in rice.
|
Well, the thing is that rice does help, but generally only make difference with pieces that have small and hard-to-reach places that would dry out quickly on their own. Like cellphones. Popcorn is another creature entirely, it wicks the moisture out of about anything, especially the air. That's why it gets spongy if you leave it out.

Progress report; file got corrupted, but I had a back up. While I did lose a few hours, it's more tedium than anything difficult. The hard parts have already been done. |
Aww man! It's still disappointing that you lost all that work.
|
That's fancy! What's it for?
|
Oh that is amazing! What is it going to be in the end. An alien?
That is very interesting about popcorn, never thought about the reason why it gets spongy. So it can be used like rice then? |
It's going to be Miss Triste when I'm done.
Yes, it can. In fact, it does a better job in salt containers than rice, too. |
Fingers crossed it works out glitchy D=
|
What is everybody up too today? ^_^ Just a couple more days until the event starts!
|
I'm finishing up some code for that event. :D
|
Oo that is exciting! ^.^
|
i'm up to no good, as usual.
younger daughter has a band concert tonight. =) |
Oooo bf wants our daughter to play the violin, he decided, the other night. xD
Being up to no good is the best. |
Violins are neat. :)
I have no idea how to play one properly, though. I can play a bunch of random wind instruments...but I'm out of practice. |
I used to play the piano when I was little. I was in concerts and everything. I made a decision to live with my mom when I was 11 though and so my dad cut off my piano lessons. Mom didn't have a piano so I never continued and now I can't remember how to play. ._.
|
The coding has me anxious with anticipation.
That sucks, Glitch. o ^o |
i used to take piano lessons and clarinet lessons. i can still read music, and i have a guitar that i haven't played in forever.
younger daughter plays the flute. older daughter doesn't play any instruments. hubby bought a saxophone, but i doubt he's progressed beyond making a sound out of it. |
Mine says he can play a saxophone. I've never seen proof of this.
|
yeah, i know exactly what you mean there, Glitch. XD
|
I can play a sax!
I don't own one, though. I own a flute, clarinet, and trumpet. :P |
very cool, Toho!
|
Brady also says he can play the Djembe so I bought him one. His idea of playing it is just slapping it in what he thinks is on time with the music. >.>
|
:)
I played Clarinet in middle school and high school. Dabbled in other instruments. The trumpet was my grandmother's. It's in need of repairs... |
i played the clarinet in elementary school, it think. piano lesssons were in middle school. in my senior year in high school i had a guitar class. it was pretty fun.
|
I wanted to play guitar, I was a whimp about how it hurt my fingers though and never made it anywhere past buying the thing XD
|
yeah, it's been a LONG time since i played it, i haven't had callouses on my fingertips in a very long time.
i crochet now. XD |
I've had a lot of past boyfriends try to play the guitar to impress me? XD
|
I kind of want to learn guitar...there's an old one at my dad's house with no strings that my sister bought in high school and then never used that I might take when I'm up there for Christmas...
Although, I have so many other hobbies already... |
Hobbies! I have either too few, or too many. Hard to say.
But this is a thing. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...ey_cloak_2.jpg |
That looks amazing!
*steals* |
oh that looks great! make me one next
|
I'd be willing to make costumes for people...but not for free, lol.
|
isn't that just the way
|
My sister and brother are both musically inclined. My sister was even in All-State and did solos for her choir. She's in the airforce with a husband and two kids, now. AND I GET TO SEE THEM DOWN FROM ALASKA TOMORROOOOOOWWW~<3333
That costume does look great, though. Glitch, have you tried rubber thimbles on your fingers or finger cots? |
