my mom has a 10 gallon pot just for the occasion XD it is so big it cannot be washed in the sink and the top rack has to be taken out of the dishwasher and it gets washed alone

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:17 PM

Foodz, yo.

I am also not keen on switching from turkey to beef. :s Aside from the rare roast or corned beef on a sandwich, and the even rarer jerky, I haven't had beef in quite a while. I find that I don't really like it. A good steak is nice, but I will typically prefer other meats.

littl3chocobo 03-02-2013 09:19 PM

i am a beef man at heart X''D love the stuff and it is what i have for every other meat-based meal so i eat beef almost every day

Red Lion 03-02-2013 09:20 PM

Goodnight Cirque.

I on the other hand, do not particularly like turkey and would rather have beef.

Not a poultry person in general.

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:21 PM

Bleh >8P I don't even like it as hamburger much any more. If it must be beef, then it must be as lean as possible. I will allow for the horrible fatty stuff they use in restaurant/fast-food tacos. But you won't see me having those more than once or twice a year anyway.

Red Lion 03-02-2013 09:24 PM

I refuse to eat a burger that isn't beef....just flat out refuse. I have had turkey burgers, they were slightly more expensive and didn't taste different enough to warrant making the exchange. I do not even care about the nutritional difference.

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:28 PM

I do, and I find the difference in taste pretty noticeable. Beef burgers, especially when bought, taste very heavy and sort of bland to me. I like the flavor and lighter texture of ground turkey more, and the fact that it's typically got less fat is a bonus.

Red Lion 03-02-2013 09:32 PM

The light texture is exactly what I don't like about Turkey meat, That's why at thanksgiving I usually eat ham instead. also it's somewhat less filling. I don't buy the premade beef patties anyway, I just get ground beef, crack an egg and pour some steak sauce in it then make the patties. Turkey patties are just less substantial and to me didn't really taste as good. They were better than turkey bacon, I'll give them that.

The kind I bought wasn't too different from beef, and while not bad it was not in anyway better.

Espy 03-02-2013 09:34 PM

Guh. Now I really wish I knew how to play the guitar. And the electric guitar.

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:35 PM

pfft pfft you keep your smelly cowflesh
*cuddles the turkey burgers*
my precious~

We chopped onions and peppers into ground turkey and it was great.

Red Lion 03-02-2013 09:36 PM

Meh, at best Turkey is passable, but I don't think I'd ever seek it out on my own. I barely eat Chicken and even then I prefer it to be heavily seasoned or at least dipped in batter.

littl3chocobo 03-02-2013 09:37 PM

better than tofu beef XD

dude, i like fatty beef and i dont like burger, give me marbled<3 gQg

Espy 03-02-2013 09:38 PM

Blugh. I get too much greasy stuff at college already.

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:40 PM

blech, fatty meats just don't appeal to me. DX
And chicken is totally different from turkey. Like. Not even comparable. It's much more dry and has less flavor.

Espy; SO YOU CAN MAKE US A SONG ABOUT THE SUPERIORITY OF TURKEY?

Red Lion 03-02-2013 09:42 PM

Poultry is poultry, it's never as juicy and hearty as beef or pork and not as flavorful as fish. I don't mind fatty meats as long as they aren't greasy. And the flavor Turkey does have is sort of unpleasant. I want to say it's slightly more bitter than chicken.

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:44 PM

Willis. You cray. Just cray. And I shall not be without my turkey legs, which you will try and YOU WILL LIKE. >8I

But obvs fish is best meat. And lamb. But mostly fish.

littl3chocobo 03-02-2013 09:45 PM

chicken is very good and can e quite juicy, much better than pork whick is pretty meh all around and rarely is anything but dry unless you like it greasy

Red Lion 03-02-2013 09:46 PM

I have tried turkey legs, I eat one out of obligation every thanksgiving and I do not like. I don't eat turkey for the rest of the year if I can help it. I don't hate it, but it's one of those foods where I can always think of something I'd much rather be eating.

littl3chocobo 03-02-2013 09:48 PM

because the only part of the turkey worth eating is the breast, there is something unsavory about the legs

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:49 PM

Thanksgiving stuff doesn't count. Will never be the same as a single turkey leg seasoned with lemon pepper and baked in foil so it soaks up all that nice, juicy flavor... ; u; Is the best thing ever.

And I will agree that pork is generally unimpressive. It's a bit like chicken in that right, but with a slightly different flavor and texture.

Red Lion 03-02-2013 09:51 PM

A nice Christmas honey glazed or spiral ham is delicious though.

Pork roast is boring.

Lemon pepper MIGHT make it taste alright.

littl3chocobo 03-02-2013 09:53 PM

dude, i have tried turkey with apples and mint jelly and rosemary that was backed to a golden crisp and juicy inside and it was still not very good outside of the breast

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:53 PM

DON'T BE A BUTT THE LEMON PEPPER TURKEY LEG IS MY FAVORITE

but yes, a honey glazed ham is pretty fabu. And the country ham that goes in a biscuit. Other than that, I can do without pork and replace it with chicken.

Red Lion 03-02-2013 09:55 PM

Indeed, but Ham is one of my favorite holiday foods.

I think I just don't care for roast, be it beef or pork.

......Lemon pepper turkey leg can be your favorite.

littl3chocobo 03-02-2013 09:58 PM

welp, i am not needed in this convo so i guess i am out

uncledaddy 03-02-2013 09:58 PM

That and fish. anything fish, or tentacles, or stuff from shells.
