pls send me all the snow too
it never snows here |
Never snows here either... tropical country missin out
Like I've never made a snow angel in my life How sad is that? |
depends on one's opinion of snow. if you'd have asked me when I was a kid? I'd have said it was pretty sad, and prolly would've tried to mail you some snow. Now? Meh. that stuff is ick.
|
I like snow. Even though it makes walking hard, messes up my skirt hems, and makes the air harder to breath. ...Like it, but don't love it.
|
We get wet snow, and sometimes dry, powdery snow. I drive a Chrysler LHS, which has a super low ground clearance, but I've only ever gotten stuck once, and that was because I hit black ice and went into a ditch... I'm a lot more careful, now. Though I did drive through a blizzard to get to work one time, even though I found out once I got there that I wouldn't have gotten in trouble for staying home.
|
We used to get more snow when I was a kid, nowadays if it stays on the sidewalks it turns into icky brown slush within a day. But I plan to visit my aunt on the countryside this winter, who still gets like half a meter on average.

The evil thing is that it's all light and fluffy until you move it. I've heard it's about the dry flakes being incredibly fragile. When they first settle, the little arms knot together and the air in between the flakes makes things nice and fluffy. If you move it, the little arms break and the snow flakes settle flat into a pile that you need a hammer to get through. Seriously, I've hurt things encountering it. |
My favourite thing to do in the snow now is just fall into it. In deep snow it makes for a delightful, fully supported body fitting chair and it's lovely to lay in until you start to freeze through your coat. Takes some effort to get up though.
And not sure how, but sometimes the most inept dog can become a master catcher if there are snowballs involved. Our young dog, you can just shovel the snow into her face and she's happy as can be. |
I went on vacation with a couple of girl friends of mine, one from up north and another who never lived anywhere but Southern California. We were vacationing in Sedona and when my LA friend arrived, she greeted us with a handful of snow. "It's SNOW!!! It's REALLY SNOW!!!!" She had never seen it before and it was great fun watching her like a little kid playing with the stuff.
My friend from up north who is used to so much snow that it blocks her doorway, was all "ho hum. Yep. Snow." :P |
/high fives Sternum
one day... we'll see snow!! |
*tries to mail a few gallons of snow to mdom and Sternum*
*ends up with a soggy cardboard box* *labels it "DIY snow kit - Instructions: freeze"* |
I hate snow cuz I gotta shovel it. ; n;
|
You should come visit me, mdom and Sternum! I think we have around 3 inches (7.62 centimeters) of snow right now!
v View from my bedroom window the morning after the first snow. It snowed off and on the next few days... v |
That looks so beautiful!!
Shoveling snow sounds like a nice workout! |
I agree about the comfort and the duration of comfort of sitting on snow. I've done that a lot as a kid.
Back when I was a kid we used to get several foot of snow (I remember tunneling under the upper crust and vanishing), and some scary blizzards once in awhile. Now days if we get two foot of snow it's a miracle, and blizzards are just a thing for drivers to gripe about. |
Ah, pretty!
Another fun thing in the snow is when you have a small hill, walk up there, lay down (ski clothes or similar recommended) and then roll down the hill through the snow. |
I always wound up full of snow when I tried that. LOL
|
Yes, that's kinda the point ^^ hence why you have to wear the right clothing
|
I live in North Central Alberta. And was a farm kid back then. I HAD the right clothes.
|
Texas gets no snow just slush ice if I want snow I got to buy fake stuff or a snow cone :/
|
Snow cones are nice too xD
|
Derpy shivers and crawls under a blanket. "Snow evil!"
|
Noo, snow is great! You can make a snow dragon, another Derpy. It's like having an imaginary friend ^^
|
If I don't have anywhere to be going to? I'll just stay inside and bury myself in blankets. I have friends who will make rude things in the snow for giggles, and I've seen it weaponized against bad parking jobs....
|
"No! Snow cold and cold and slippy! I don't like cold!" Derpy burrows further under his blanket.
|
that reminds me, I should probably get my blanket nest out of the closet... and switch sleeping bags.
|
I don't know if Derpys mommy every got back into her Ava avi or wants to hop on there but they are having a mini event if you want to hop on.... figured I'd let you know
|
Yeah, I don't really do Ava anymore. It keeps dying and I just don't actually care anymore really. Thanks though!
|
I tried registering in avaricia but it didn't load in my computer for whatever reason <.<
|
That's okay, you can do rainbow better here anyway.
XD Ava was a good site, but it's just kind of...dead. The staff will occasionally return to revive it, but it just isn't the same and I don't really like some of the people who have been most active there anymore. |
aw :< sad when not even staff cares.
|
I mean, the few staff that still are around probably do care, but they get busy and don't have time or they get sick and can't really be around and I dunno. Like, the owner is really cool and I like the idea behind the site, but it was better before, when it was active. But it's just too quiet and the people still around are kind of meh. Like, they seem to prefer talking about themselves rather than actually having a conversation.
|
Ouch @_@
busy staff... reminds of solia having like, only one person to upload items =T |
Derpy hugs mdom's ankle. "We have me here! Dis the best site!"
|
AGREED!!
Wherever Derpy is, it's the place to be ^^ |
Plus, this site's staff are seriously awesome.
|
AND THEY LOVE RAINBOWS
or at least Ari does xDDD |
