O.o
Maybe see about having cookies ordered and delivered from Canada? Since they are on the border of the US they might accept PayPal or something like that. They have a price limit value wise on items being sent to Canada. o.O

Demonskid 05-11-2016 12:55 PM

Nuuu Dx they has to be our super soft and nummy dropcake cookies! -fails-

ZenKitty 05-11-2016 02:05 PM

At Christmas I sent fudge to friends in Canada via 1st class mail. The fudge was heavier than cookies would be and it cost about $11 to British Columbia if I remember correctly. It seems like it was similar or a little less to Ontario. I went to the dollar store and got cookie tins, which I taped shut so it wouldn't get smooshed. It traveled well and no problems with customs. I used one of the USPS padded envelopes.

SparX 05-11-2016 08:26 PM

I'm not sure what changed with the law in my state for shipping food items since legalization but I know something did.....
I was going to ship my friend a cheesecake but someone told me I couldn't now since then? I don't know where to start asking or who to start asking about that either D=

ZenKitty 05-11-2016 08:36 PM

Go to the USPS and talk with a clerk there. They can tell you what can and cannot be shipped and to where.

Basically, if you look at the usps perishable materials information, you can ship food as long as it won't get disgusting in the time it takes to get there - figure a week. Or if you ship food with dry ice, then it will last a lot longer. It's all about how you pack it and how long it will take to get there.

For my fudge, it was fine without anything fancy. Cookies would be the same way. Cheesecake might require some dry ice and styrofoam because of the egg content.

Natsunaine 05-12-2016 04:46 PM

Hows the dk lately?

Demonskid 05-12-2016 06:49 PM

Demonskid 05-17-2016 11:53 AM

your so cruel to my thread o3o

SparX 05-18-2016 11:46 PM

I have to kill some thread somewhere so why not the one labeled as such =D

Natsunaine 05-19-2016 01:20 AM

Welll it is the offical thread for these things

Lawtan 05-19-2016 09:56 AM

...I am fairly certain this thread is nigh-immortal. It's like animals that can stop their heart and restart it.

Demonskid 05-19-2016 12:00 PM

aren't those animals called possums? o3o play possum thread! -thread falls over-

Natsu understands me!

Lawtan 05-20-2016 09:08 AM

I was thinking more frogs and lizards...but possums work, too. Frogs and lizards have interesting abilities, like un-dying when they thaw from ice, or breaking bones/losing tails as natural defense abilities. One or two can do so in a way that makes them Wolverine.

Demonskid 05-20-2016 09:21 AM

This thread isn't for you to kill it D8 its for you to go out, kill other threads then come back here to brag >^<

froggies x3

SparX 05-20-2016 05:06 PM

But all the other threads are almost dead by themselves there is no joy in killing a thread that isn't fantasmically overrun by posts
I made that word up.

Demonskid 05-21-2016 11:25 AM

Dk makes up words all the time ouo its how the dictionary came to be. people made up words... and eventually they became things xD

SparX 05-22-2016 10:11 PM

I think I remember reading a post about words coming into being recently XD

Demonskid 05-22-2016 10:32 PM

I think I had a dream about words ._. or am I remembering a post i made..

SparX 05-22-2016 10:34 PM

Who knows that's the real question

One of the words from the post was "sonder"

Quote:

sonder - n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

Potironette 05-22-2016 11:25 PM

Oh, sonder's a nice word. Unfortunately, I wonder how long it'll take for words like that to become officially recognized by, say, a dictionary like Webster. I don't think people use those kinds of words very often. Actually, I feel like the English language has a lot of emotions that aren't really put into words...and if they are they don't get recognition. At least that's the feeling I get.

...If I weren't in school I'd be more able to use words like sonder. But as I am in school I feel obligated to not try things (at least for English class anyway).

SparX 05-23-2016 12:24 AM

I also really enjoy the meaning because it was something that messes with me quite a bit sometimes as a people watcher XD

I can understand not trying it out at school, either they accept creativity and going outside the box or they get angry at you for not adhering to their exact rules of the assignment. They later can often end in terrible grades and/or fights with teachers, from my experience >.>

ml1201 05-23-2016 01:26 AM

Well, seems like I have to get a new car even though I can't really afford it, I don't have much choice sadly. T-T The water pump in my car is going, the power steering has been in need of replacing for years, and its mostly likely going to be a thousand or more to replace. And on top of that I just got new tires put on it not to long ago, less than half a year because it was February if I recall right. I was hoping to get another year out of the car but that doesn't seem possible anymore, its just breaking down too much. T-T

SparX 05-23-2016 01:36 AM

That's terrible!
But you can probably find a decent vehicle that's running with a few less problems for a couple hundred. We're looking for one of those ourselves for Sekeneko XD
My husband refers to them as "Hoop-De" while I call them "the car every person struggling with entering adulthood has unless their super lucky/smart with money or have caring parents"

Demonskid 05-23-2016 07:39 AM

-doesn't drive- o3o are cars edible?

Natsunaine 05-25-2016 06:49 PM

Ohhhhhh so pretty law!! *-*

Lawtan 05-26-2016 11:14 AM

So, how is everyone?

Demonskid 05-26-2016 02:15 PM

watching mom flail and freak out over Johnny Cash being on this one Columbo episode x'D

ml1201 05-26-2016 03:42 PM

Well, its more so that I don't have to worry about the car for several years and about paying to fix it since it will be under warranty.
