ngl, the risk of the cat getting poisoned / run over / potentially killed by someone is far too high and outweighs the benefits of letting them outside unsupervised.

i kinda fear for my cats' lives every day after what happened to tabby, y'know? i can't remember what tabby looked like anymore and i'm still grieving.

i do keep blackie in on the nights of october 30 and 31.

but i know what you mean about that being a high risk, and i hate every time my cats go outside. but at 14 and 17, you can't teach an old cat new tricks. (who am i kidding? i taught blackie to sit before he gets his dinner... LOL)

i think both whisky and smokey are indoor/outdoor, to my knowledge. they both tend to come in at night, esp. since it's getting colder now.

semi tends to stay indoors, but we've seen her go out every so often. i think she likes to sunbathe.

oh i make sure the cats are in at night. i have no trouble with Max, our 17-year-old ancient dude who would much rather curl up on the couch and sleep all day. he gets a burst of energy when i get home from work most afternoons, and runs (that's hilarious) outside. but he's only out for like 10 or 20 minutes

whisky and smokey have started napping next to each other. if one of them has the cushion, the other will just loaf next to them. it's quite sweet.

they don't usually get along.
