Blur on sai is amazing. 8D

And Taiki shouldn't make everything, she needs time to live too!

Plus I like making 'some' stoof. xD

You should make a toturial on how to make a pixel item on SAI.
I WILL LOVE you forever and ever.

Kami should make all the pixels! *3*

Kamikaze Chinchilla 02-27-2011 08:47 PM

@Uke: Aww, that's no fun D8 *puts her whip down*. It's only fun when you gather a group, gang up on one artist, and whip that artist in unison and scream "Work, slave! WORK!". mm..we need someone to beat the drums so the artist keeps a steady pace.

Uke 02-27-2011 08:47 PM

Guys, we should share! ;3;

And maybe I will, Panda! But I can't right now, cuz my laptop is getting repairs.

Panda 02-27-2011 08:48 PM

Okie dokie and is there like a color palette that I can use?

Panda 02-27-2011 08:49 PM

How do you start when it come to making items?

Do you draw the outline first or something? Or do you sketch it out? Can you tell me the steps? I'm super duper new at this.

Lucid: 02-27-2011 08:52 PM

everyone does it differently, but I sketch it out, then I make a grey blob-shape, add in some basic shades, outline it, and then refine the shades. of course, I've only ever made one item. XD
don't worry about color palette, just work in greyscale. there's a nifty recolor tool that adds our color palette to all the grey items.

Kamikaze Chinchilla 02-27-2011 08:53 PM

@Lucid: Shush! SHHHH!!! *slowly puts tape on Lucid's mouth* = 3= I don't need to do 'all' the pixelz..

@Panda: Like Lucid said, everyone has their own preferred method.

I rarely do outlining/rough-sketch first, since that's just an extra step. I usually have an idea of what I want, in my head, and do a base shape layer. Then I fill in all the innards of that base shape layer with awesome sauce O 3o

Uke 02-27-2011 08:54 PM

I sketch it out, then I do a flat of a middle grey (I'm an artist that does gray scale stuff), then make a new layer and shade it with a darker grey. O=

So is Lucid a mod and a pixelist?

Lucid: 02-27-2011 08:56 PM

**peels tape off** I mean, our artists SLAVE AWAY over EVERY SINGLE COLOR and do it ALL BY HAND. with so many items that have 26 colors that each have 5 shades each, you should be ASHAMED of yourselves for ever wanting anything new ever. D':>

Lucid is mostly a mod, but I've been practicing pixeling for fun and to help out because we always need more pixelers. I made the hairbow.
Kami is a much better artist than Lucid, so she can just poke her computer a few times and millions of pretty pixels appear! I actually have to work for ages on just a little teeny bit of pixel.

Kamikaze Chinchilla 02-27-2011 08:59 PM

No, us artists are lazy. We have someone who makes the work easier: Fen xP

*makes Lucid work anyways*

Lucid: 02-27-2011 09:00 PM

**smacks Lazy Kami around** stop bugging Fen, do more work! ;o;

Uke 02-27-2011 09:00 PM

I think all our artists are amazing, including you, Lucid. P=

Even people not on staff that I see in the art sections are awesome. O=

Lucid: 02-27-2011 09:01 PM

Uke, you only think that because you didn't see all my failed attempts at pixeling. x'D
