It's not what you think. Trust me. I avoided it like the plague, then my (Male) Best friend came to me and literally tied me up and made me watch the first few episodes, and I have been a fan ever since. Solid plots, well developed characters, realistic reactions to things. And it's made by Lauren Faust, the mastermind behind the Powerpuff girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary friends. It does have a episodely aesop, but it's about a nerdy bookworm who didn't think she had time for friendship learning about it.

I dunno. I'm usually more for Monty Python, Disney, sorta stuff.

I wasn't sure I would like the Friendship is Magic version of the ponies, but they are OK - except that I don't like the toys of them that much.

PSH. Disney got nothing on this. If disney discovered legions of people OTHER then the target demographic loving there work they would be happy, but Lauren and her crew have actually listened and worked with the fans. Nearly every character has been given a name. Even characters with no lines, and characters that only exist in the background. They've been given relationships, and friends and family, personalities... The whole nine yards. And the creators have stated that it's good enough for them that it should just be considered canon.

I'm semi gushing over why the new My Little Pony is actually a good show and not some excuse to try and sell merchandise.
