In this case your aunt.... is his grandmother...and your grandmother..is his great-grand >w>

Cousin's 1 removed is where they share a GREAT-GRAND.... but dont have the same grand-parent...

so they end up being in the same generation.. just their granfparents are siblings..instead of their parent's being siblings.
