ml1201 12-08-2014 12:02 PM

lol. XD If only that were the case with my mom. >_> She says guys shouldn't have long hair and that the only reason why they did during the Medieval era was because they didn't have scissors. *facepalm* I tried to tell her, with my dad's support, that they also had long hair during the Civil War, which took place LONG after that and they most assuredly had scissors. It's just a matter of what 'style' is accepted as the norm during that time period. People don't say anything now about a girl cutting her hair even though they used to, but people like my mom still things men are slobs if they have long hair. >>;

trystan830 12-08-2014 12:12 PM

huh, that's interesting, ml.

ml1201 12-08-2014 01:20 PM

Its kind of annoying because my mom is always like this, judging a person solely on looks. If she had of seen this one lady back at my first job that had SUPER long hair, to the point where she didn't brush it often, my mom would think different about women always looks nice with long hair and guys never do. =.=;

trystan830 12-08-2014 01:30 PM

yeah, i can see that being annoying. yikes!

ml1201 12-08-2014 03:08 PM

Yeah, lady got her hair caught on the register when I was ringing her out. x'D

trystan830 12-08-2014 03:16 PM

ok, that's just a little crazy?

ml1201 12-08-2014 07:03 PM

It was past her knees, so I would say yeah. x'D

trystan830 12-08-2014 08:17 PM

wow, that's long hair!!

ml1201 12-08-2014 09:11 PM

Yeah, which is also why she got caught on the register as well. x'D

trystan830 12-08-2014 10:16 PM

that would do it....

ml1201 12-08-2014 10:36 PM

Yeah, I'd never be able to stand having my hair that long to be completely honest. x'D

trystan830 12-08-2014 10:59 PM

my hair was long - about 1/2 way down my back - when i got it cut back in september. but at that point, i was wearing it braided most of the time. (i'm letting it grow... again. *sigh* i liked the long hair.)

both my daughters have hair almost down to their waist, but they wear it braided a lot of the time too. =)

Mek 12-09-2014 01:22 AM

EDIT -

Ugg, I need to check which page I'm on next time, lol.

trystan830 12-09-2014 01:23 AM

aww, it's ok, Mek. *hugs*

Mek 12-09-2014 01:25 AM

*hugs* Thanks

I've been super low on energy, but I've just got over a kidney stone xP Kinder than the last time I had one, though.

ml1201 12-09-2014 01:26 AM

I used to have my hair that long when I was a kid, bit my hair was almost never braided or tied back. x'D So when I first got it cut short I was super happy to have it out of my face, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to doing things for my hair. x'D

Mek 12-09-2014 01:31 AM

My hair is a decent length, but I bought a boat captain's hat too big for my head and I wear my hair underneath it so I don't have to do anything with it but still have the option of doing so. I have one in black and one in navy blue, lol.

Mek 12-09-2014 02:02 AM

Thanks! :D

I'm sure by the end of the week... once I'm off the antibiotics >.< They said they saw something else they didn't like when I was in the ER last week and gave me those too.

ml1201 12-09-2014 11:30 AM

Sounds like you might have an infection of some kind. Poor Mek! *snuggles*

trystan830 12-09-2014 11:37 AM

*agrees with ml* *hugs Mek some more*

Mek 12-10-2014 12:22 AM

*hugs and glomps for all*

Probably. I'll just be glad to be done with them.

There's supposed to be a big storm hitting us starting tomorrow night. :X

trystan830 12-10-2014 12:26 AM

where are you at, Mek? it's been raining and stuff here for like a whole week...

Mek 12-10-2014 01:11 AM

Northern California, couple of hours east of San Francisco.

trystan830 12-10-2014 01:16 AM

we had a Nor'easter today. fun stuff. (at least it wasn't snow...)

Mek 12-10-2014 01:20 AM

We don't get snow in the part of California I live in. Growing up, snow days are what the kids on TV shows got.

heh. we get snow days. last school year, we had 7 snow days. o_O

Mek 12-10-2014 01:29 AM

Yeah... I think I might have been 16 the first time I saw snow in person.

trystan830 12-10-2014 01:34 AM

i remember there was one winter, i was little (5? 6?... we moved from that house when i was almost 8, so somewhere before i was 7...) and it snowed! when the plows came by, there was a TON of snow along side the roads, and i made steps up one side of the piles, and slid down the other - like a fun park slide.

we were also able to do that a few years ago, 2011? i think that was "Snowmaggedon" - a few blizzards one right after another. i think we had like 3 or 4 that Jan-Feb (March?)

ml1201 12-10-2014 09:18 AM

I loved playing in the snow as a kid, but now I can't because I get cold too easily. x'D

trystan830 12-10-2014 11:23 AM

that's understandable, ml. it's cold out there when it snows! XD

Tam I am 12-10-2014 03:28 PM

It's supposed to be winter here, but I think we got Mek's storm. It's trying to *bleeeping* RAIN.

trystan830 12-10-2014 03:40 PM

we got some flurries not that long ago- furious sideways flurries! it's cold and windy out there!

ml1201 12-10-2014 06:12 PM

Said something online about snow in this area, or at least in a town near here. XD

We *did* get Mek's storm here in SoCal -- it just swept south and met up with a front headed north and it's POURING.

Nope. Old event item. It's from Dyten's first set, back during the Masquerade/Fight for Freedom event.

ml1201 12-12-2014 08:04 PM

@Tam
*sets down a pillow and blankets on the couch*

@Epsy
