Suzerain of Sheol 06-17-2011 12:29 PM

Oh, that's fine. Like I said, I don't have anything in mind anyway.

CupcakeDolly 06-17-2011 02:52 PM

Ah, okies. *waits patiently* =3

Suzerain of Sheol 06-17-2011 03:28 PM

I... should probably get to work on that, then.

I'm sorry, I didn't sleep well last night and have been feeling kind of miserable all day, but I'm sufficiently awake now to make some progress, I think. It's not like there's that much to do. I'll still probably have it ready by later tonight.

CupcakeDolly 06-17-2011 03:42 PM

Aw, I'm sorry. I don't mean to be pushy or anything. <_< But I'm really looking forward to it!!

Suzerain of Sheol 06-17-2011 03:48 PM

Nah, it's fine. I work faster that way, anyway. :p

Suzerain of Sheol 06-18-2011 11:54 AM

Quest thread is lonely.

Still working on that RP. Hope to have it more or less ready (and maybe posted) by tonight.

Serra Britt 06-18-2011 12:48 PM

-briefly keeps you company- I need to tell myself to go to bed earlier.

CupcakeDolly 06-18-2011 01:07 PM

Oh, yes. We should talk about questy stuff some more.

Ummmm... Swords!!

I got nothin'.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-18-2011 03:29 PM

I'll have to think of something new to rant about. Nothing comes to mind at the moment. I'm sure that won't last, though. :p

I can't imagine I'm going to get those last two quest items handed to me, especially the samurai. I should really keep a better eye out in the merchant square.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-18-2011 08:03 PM

My samurai! Fine, you can have one too :p.

I got my kitsune I've been looking for so I'm happy. :). I like the armour in the samurai set.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-18-2011 08:06 PM

I like the armor, too, though I imagine you'd need more than one set to really make use of it.

Oh, random question, but does anyone know what set those chained angel wings belong to? I just realized today that I have no clue what those are.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-18-2011 08:11 PM

You know I'm not sure I know either, though I think I did see them once in a set. Can't recall.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-19-2011 01:39 AM

Just letting everyone know who was waiting on it, the OOC thread for my roleplay is up now.

Working on the main thread.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-19-2011 02:55 AM

Atttaaaaack!! *add high pitched tasloi scream*

Suzerain of Sheol 06-19-2011 10:31 AM

o_O you okay there?

Anyway, thought of something to rant about. Good rant this time.

There's a movie that came out in England last year called Black Death starring Sean Bean. This movie is fantastic. I was expecting another Hollywood-history disaster like Season of the Witch, but... apparently the British still remember how to tell a good story.

It wasn't at all what I was expecting. I went in to it from the previews expecting to watch Boromir/Eddard Stark chop through zombies and necromancers for an hour and a half. What I got, instead, was a dark, subversive, downplayed story about belief, deception, and conviction that genuinely surprised me at times (in a good way).

I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes stuff in that vein, though I will note that the violence is fairly graphic at times. Despite that, though, it's easily the best film I've seen in a long time.

CupcakeDolly 06-19-2011 03:00 PM

Ooh, sounds like my kind of movie. Sometimes I really hate living in America just because of the so-called entertainment that's constantly being shoved in our faces. Much of the movie-going population is so dumbed down that gory, pointless action is what passes for a good story nowadays. I love thrillers, and hate how modern day thrillers always seem to entail nothing but gore porn.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-19-2011 03:07 PM

Yeah... it's a really rare experience for me to actually enjoy a film, which on one hand makes it that much better when one finally does impress me, but on the other hand, it's frustrating to be so disappointed with 99% of everything I watch.

Serra Britt 06-20-2011 12:15 AM

I would probably end up not enjoying that movie just because I'm a fan of childish movies -bows head sorrowfully-

On the other hand maybe it would be good just because it's not like anything else I've watched. I can't really say :/

Suzerain of Sheol 06-20-2011 12:19 AM

Eh... put it this way, it's pretty much made for someone like me. :p

I have to admit, I got fooled by the trailer into thinking it would be a mindless action flick, but it's... not at all. I was actually disturbed after watching it. In a good way. :p

I'm not even sure what genre it falls into. It's sort of a horror movie, I think, but not overtly scary so much as chilling. There's some action, but it feels more gruesome, than anything.

All in all, impressive (to me) for a medieval film.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-20-2011 12:32 AM

Referring to the previous post, was just signalling the descent upon your RP thead, tis all ;).

I take is Sean Bean is in Game of Thrones as well? I never really thought much about him until Lord of the Rings, but he did so some voice acting I'm familiar with: Black Beauty (as the horse) and a movie about a lion pride for a couple. Can't remember what the lion one was called. Kinda interesting though because it was made up of filmed wild lions with the voices added later. Off topic.

Sounds like a good movie Suzerain. I find I get bored with the standard Hollywood stuff too, and am talking more interest in films from Europe and even local stuff in Canada here. The odd time I go to a movie store I look on the new releases wall for the movies I haven't seen advertised, and have found some alright movies that way. Death Watch was on I liked. It's European made, and involves a cursed trench in World War I. Not a lot of gore or blood beyond what would be expected in a war movie where people have injuries and gangrene and such. I liked it. Another one was Dog Soldiers which is also European, or European/Canadian, not sure. It's in the realm of slashers but I like it because the characters are soldiers and therefore not monster fodder. They know how to fight back and it makes things that much better. You are actually rooting for the characters instead of rolling your eyes at how stupid they are acting.

If you're into triller stuff, I'd suggest looking for Double Vision, a Chinese/American collab that features a serial killer with supernatural elements. The uneditted version available in Taiwan I hear is uber gorey and such but the American release isn't as much, though it it gorey as it features the aftermath of symbolic killings and such.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-20-2011 10:28 AM

Did Sean Bean's character die before the end of those movies? He seems to have track record for that. :p And, yeah, he's Ned Stark in Game of Thrones.

Serra Britt 06-20-2011 11:00 PM

Hey, I may have gotten a job o.o I'm going to an interview on Wednesday...it's only for 2 days a week but it sure beats having no income.

Why didn't I post this in my own quest thread..? Suzerain's quest thread is the place to be because everyone comes here... XD

Quiet Man Cometh 06-20-2011 11:04 PM

Yeah, annoying isn't it?

No, Sean Bean didn't die in either movie. He went through some nastiness as the horse and was a sort of bad guy-esque lion but that was pretty much it. He did kill his lion brother since said brother offed his cubs but that was pretty much it as far as I can recall.

Suzerain of Sheol 06-20-2011 11:43 PM

/is flattered by his popularity.

And, good luck, Serra!

Serra Britt 06-21-2011 12:39 PM

I'm pretty confident, as I've never failed to get a job once I have an interview. Plus it's only 2 days a week so even if there's some standing involved I'm hoping it won't be the entire time so I can still do it :3 I'm a bit nervous/excited... but very happy to think about working again :3

Suzerain of Sheol 06-23-2011 10:01 AM

So... how did it end up going, Serra?

Serra Britt 06-23-2011 11:31 AM

It turned out really well, I think the only way the interview could have gone better was if she hired me on the spot :3 I'll know for sure by Monday at the latest.

CupcakeDolly 06-24-2011 05:13 PM

*Crawls out into Trispheeland* o_o It's scary out here... I feel safer in the RP...

littl3chocobo 06-24-2011 08:49 PM

wow you are close, congrats and continued sucess in your quest

Suzerain of Sheol 06-24-2011 11:25 PM

Thanks. :)

I'm actually closer than that, as I bought the Samurai this morning but forgot to strike it out on the list.

Serra Britt 06-25-2011 12:04 AM

Oh, wow, it's been a while since I looked at the first post. A Saint? Me? -blushes-

Suzerain of Sheol 06-25-2011 12:08 AM

You might not be blushing to be compared to Typasius, depending on just what form the "Wrath of God" he's going bring down ends up taking. :p

Serra Britt 06-25-2011 02:42 AM

Well, just getting mentioned on the front page makes me happy :p

Suzerain of Sheol 06-26-2011 01:05 AM

/has a Frostbite.
/has a Phaunos Spirit.
/is happy. :D

Serra Britt 06-26-2011 01:18 AM

Hehe, congrats Suzerain :3 I got a Solar Kingdom but hey, it cost less than buying it direct.

Quiet Man Cometh 06-27-2011 05:45 PM

I like solar kingdom, and it's past date so no worries selling it if you want too. I like the coats. Haven't had occasion to use the face colour yet.

Has anka and hallow of innocence. Is happy too. :)

Quiet Man Cometh 07-04-2011 08:07 PM

I must ask, where did you get those funky eyeballs Sheol? Those Silvary's eyes underneath?

I'm endeavouring to write today. Not going as well as it could, except that I've decided I shall call it "working" seeing as I don't have any real job yet and it beats wasting time.

Somebody save me from loud Mario sound effects and loud kids!

nyreen 07-04-2011 08:08 PM

Hello everyone.

Quiet Man Cometh 07-04-2011 08:21 PM

Well, there was a few minutes of quite when momma came in and checked up on said kids. They're at it again now. Sigh.
