I am reading the book Wicked. It is not as good as I imagined from trailers of the musical based on it lead me to believe.

I've read some of it and I enjoyed it.

The musical is a lot better than the book

i've never seen the musical Wicked, but i've heard it's good :3 has anyone read the girl with the dragon tattoo? i'm trying. i figured "if they're making another movie about it, it's gotta be good!" i'm like 100 pages in and there's nothing happening. the author is still doing character development on *one* character. he hasn't even done any development for the other character, the girl. idk if i can stick it out to the good parts...0_0

Hey as a bibliophile who is looking for a calm place to hangout and chat about books or the such I was wondering if I could come and chat in here.

On a book related note, The Hobbit movie is coming out on 2012. Is anyone as anxious as I am. It was my favorite book from the 'series' so I'm kind of afraid it will get a little lost in translation, but I believe in Peter Jackson, he did such an Amazing job translating the others to film.

Sorry, I've just been needing a place to hangout and it is called book haven, it simply made sense to try and toss in some sort of conversation about books.

it's more of a place where people who like books hang out, not so much to talk about books, but i dont think you want to get me started on anything lotr related....

I figured as much, but I felt it necessary for a first post at least. And why not, it could strike up a lovely long conversation for others to join in on (thus helping to make the hangout more active)?

Meh... Once I get the time and will power I will start reading some of my books again... I don't follow any specific series I just grab random books that look interesting to me... Example: City of bones
it is just a book that caught my attention after the first few pages... but i lost time

City of Bones is AWESOME!!!...That entire series (The Mortal Instruments Series) is awesome...I just ran out of time to get through the 3rd and I've been told I need to read the 'prequel/side-along' series she came out with...

Though we do talk about some books. Speaking of, I almost am done with another one.

I used to read a lot a while back. Then private school made me hate books bc i had to read poorly translated books and have tests on them that made no sense...

Sex Lies and Vampires.

It's part of a series. I had to wait for it to be re-released to buy it to read. Took awhile but now I can say I'm caught up and can read Much Ado About Vampires to say I am waiting for the next.
