I've been ice skating. It's not exactly like roller blading, but I'd definitely recommend starting with that to get the right muscles build up.

serra and i roller skated once when she was visiting me. it was scary but fun. we both haven't skated in decades

The first time I went ice skating, my Da took me. He fell funny and fractured his ankle.

Ah man, we used to ice skate on a shitty little pond-type skating rink a lot when I was a kid. Haven't done it in years though.
I did buy rollerblades a couple years ago, but haven't used them much. Mainly because I'm super self-consious and there are no good indoor places that I can skate alone... And also because the only decent place to skate close to my apartment is just a not so smooth asphalt path has some pretty massive cracks in it. |
You could get a large board from Home Depot and skate on that inside, if you wanted.

Because my apartment is only like ...550-600 square feet and full of furniture (I did test roll around the living room when I first got them, but is's not enough room to get a workout from tbh). There's still the nowhere to be alone issue. |

lol! that's what i was asking in my head too xD
i bought a pair of sketchers skates off ebay for about $30. they work great, but i'd like to find a nice park or something that wasn't crowded to roll around in. :( |
