isn't gray a name though??

MonBon 09-25-2019 06:31 PM

So the difference is:

grAy is used in America
grEy is used in England

mdom 09-25-2019 09:22 PM

I also like grey, but I also prefer aubergine over eggplant, so don't mind me mixing English from all anglophone countries xD

MonBon 09-25-2019 10:57 PM

Oh my language is all messed up because I read a lot of books from a lot of different areas when I was little. The spelling bees always sucked

littl3chocobo 09-25-2019 11:20 PM

i think eggplant is hilarious XD like, who would ever confuse this with an egg? like what even bird??

Burnt Rice 09-26-2019 01:52 AM

littl3chocobo 09-26-2019 02:04 AM

Biomecha 09-26-2019 02:57 AM

Speaking of regional words and pencils...

Did anyone originally learn colored pencils as map colors? I rarely see it used anymore.

littl3chocobo 09-26-2019 03:17 AM

not me. i have no idea what they even means XD

assuredly though i don't even have a head so you can guess how much of a brain i have

bluebird 09-26-2019 03:26 AM

in the states: no, but that's interesting.

what region used to use that?

Biomecha 09-26-2019 03:55 AM

Texas...and magic markers. I remember worrying about bringing the wrong ones for school supplies because I didn't know what made them magical.

mdom 09-26-2019 02:15 PM

Maybe in your old days it was map colors |D actually I have colored pencils from a brand caled 'maped' so it's not too far off

Biomecha 09-26-2019 03:41 PM

I mean, we actually did use them to color in maps when learning geography.

Burnt Rice 09-26-2019 04:25 PM

Nope. But I do remember the debate on what to call the colored pencils. We were taught pencil crayons, because they are the pencil version of wax crayons. Comes out people just called them colored pencils.
It was mind blowing. Especially since I was called an idiot for using the "wrong" terminology, even though everyone understood what I was getting at. lol
