Might have to see if I can get that done in the next couple of days. It just needs a tail and eyes. I keep meaning to see if I can find a twist tie to use in the tail to help hold the curly shape because pipe cleaners are too big/puffy to use.

Haha...it is really tempting. I actually am on the decrease section. But I'm gonna need to order more yarn for it because the skeins are smaller than I thought they were for the yarn I'm using...
Plus, the amount of free time I have might possibly be changing soon-ish.

I could not possibly finish such a huge project in one month, but for the ambitious crafter looking for inspiration I bring some patterns.

Knit Mermaid Blanket (a good old classic if you want to be a mermaid)
Kids' Crochet Mermaid Snuggle Sack (for those who want to start small)
Kidnapped Mermaid Costume (start now and finish right in time for Halloween)
Quilled Mermaid (if all you can afford are strips of paper)
Silicone Mermaid Tail (if you can afford $1000+)
Immortal Mermaid Garden (if you always wanted a fairy garden)

I'd throw links for loom knit ones in there, but I'm lazy.

And honestly, it generally takes me around 2-3 months to do just a very simple blanket (mostly because I don't work on them consistently). I mean...the one I am hoping to finish, I started at the end of May...although I did have to wait almost 2 weeks for more yarn to arrive. It's probably about 1/4 to 1/3 finished.

Wooo another thing to tell myself to do that I may never get a chance to attempt XD
