I was the same way. Ever sense I saw the opening movie and then Ren appeared and no one seemed to interact with him other then me seemed off as well. I am still reading over the different groups, I have a heart for nightlife and fangs, not to mention I have a strong passion for fire. So far the group categories remind me of air gear just a little.
