I only feel proud of one.. =(

littl3chocobo 09-07-2011 12:22 PM

oh, pride is another thing, the ones i feel proud of are usually not so good or occasionally not even finished

Lunaryon 09-07-2011 12:24 PM

I can't draw, but I put my pride in my writing... Or I would if I felt like any of it was worth posting anywhere...

Demonskid 09-07-2011 12:32 PM

the ones i feel proud of are the ones I did good with =(

Lunaryon 09-07-2011 12:42 PM

My friends say that my writing is really good, except for one... But I still don't feel good enough.
Which is stupid because I don't feel good enough until my writing is equal to Tolken's.

DarkForbidden-Love 09-07-2011 04:47 PM

Some people would argue that Tolkien isn't actually that good. Writing can't be defined by one aurthor or many it is each induviduals own style that creates writing. Like I know many people think I'm a good writer but the first line on my Author's singnature is "I'm a writer, who can't write much."

littl3chocobo 09-07-2011 04:48 PM

haha, his stuff was original enough that it does not matter if he was any good hahaha

Lunaryon 09-07-2011 05:16 PM

Well. I look up to a lot of different authors. I would of said Hubert, but I'm not sure you'd know who that is, and I kinda dislike his writing style. His books are amazing.

DarkForbidden-Love 09-07-2011 05:16 PM

I know his stuff was original, but have you read his prequels to "The Hobbit"? They bore me to sleep. Plus, the names are impossible to pronounce.

Lunaryon 09-07-2011 05:22 PM

For Tolken, the thing I look up the most to him for is setting some of the laws and basic beliefs of fiction that are taken for granted now. Before him, a group of dwarves were dwarfs, and a group of elves was elfs. His series is also one of the best selling of all time. All things I want my book to do when I finally get around to feeling safe to try and publish it.

DarkForbidden-Love 09-07-2011 05:35 PM

I did relize he made "elfs" into "Elves" interesting. And you never know how well you books will be accepted by the public until you publish them. There is a way you can have you book electronically published, but I don't know specifics.

Lunaryon 09-07-2011 05:43 PM

Yeah. And that's what scares me the most. What if people hate what I write. My first book HAS to be good, or else they won't ever read anything else I write.

littl3chocobo 09-07-2011 05:48 PM

actually you can preview it by setting a fictionpress account, it's one of those plces where you can write your story in installments and get direct feedback from readers

Lunaryon 09-07-2011 05:57 PM

That sounds familiar...

littl3chocobo 09-07-2011 06:04 PM

google it, it's neat(well it's sister site is i had a bad expireince searching the place and won't go back)

DarkForbidden-Love 09-07-2011 06:05 PM

The place I was talking about was not fictionpress but that is a good idea if you really aren't sure. Though the traffic on Fictionpress is at an all time low.:(
