OH. QUESTIONS FOR THE STAFFERS.

What class would you play in a typical fantasy RPG? (Mage, Fighter, Paladin, Assassin, Thief (yes, there's a difference), Archer, Alchemist, Bard, etc.)

What element would you be? (Fire/Lightning, Water/Ice, Nature/Stone, Air/Poison, etc.)

What weapon would you wield? (Doesn't necessarily have to fit in with the first question, so a mage could perfectly well use a dagger. I would if I were a mage >.>)

Ultima 08-01-2012 03:51 AM

Ohhh, I would love to be a lightning mage. Dunno about weapons. Something long-ranged. Some kinda magic gun thing maybe? XD

Rem 08-01-2012 04:51 AM

ROGUE
rogue rogue rogue!
But action rogue, like that's more common in modern games like Dragon Age, rogue wielding two daggers, not arrows. Bleh.
And rogue what steals things. Not thief, not reaaally, like I hated the thief class in most FF games cos their weapons are mostly long range seemed like and I am a melee fighter at heart but I love stealing shit and opening treasure chests and wearing the cooler darker more melodramatic armor right.
WHAT DO ??

Action rogue

What element would you be? (Fire/Lightning, Water/Ice, Nature/Stone, Air/Poison, etc.)
Fire bby
I am all fire
I'm an Aries after all lol

What weapon would you wield? (Doesn't necessarily have to fit in with the first question, so a mage could perfectly well use a dagger. I would if I were a mage >.>)

Double daggers :D KNIVES YES
I would show everyone my stabs
stab stab stabbity stabs
Swords are too unweildy and staffs are for pansies
sharp stabbity stabs pl0x!

Coda 08-01-2012 10:24 AM

So Rem is Locke?

Are you asking what I would /play/ or what I would /be/? They're different questions, with different answers!

PSH an awesome staff to beat people over the head with OnO

Remmy is like me o.o ....Actually I should've known, what with Maikan, huh >.>

Suppose I could post mine.

What class would you play in a typical fantasy RPG? (Mage, Fighter, Paladin, Assassin, Thief (yes, there's a difference), Archer, Alchemist, Bard, etc.)

I actually played a mage in my first MMO ever. That lasted maybe, what...a year? and then I've been rogue/assassin ever since. Rogue weps can be kind of limited, buuuuuut there're some games that let you wield almost anything (-cough- Ragnarok -cough-). Ahaha, yes, cooler/darker "armor", but it pisses me off to no end when a rogue wears actual....armor.

How the crap do rogues fight in armor. Or heavy-looking stuff. Or spiky armor that they probably'd poke their own eyes out with. (Same goes for most other classes...how do archers fight with shoulderguards? They're not supposed to.)

/end shortened rant on MMO armor

What element would you be? (Fire/Lightning, Water/Ice, Nature/Stone, Air/Poison, etc.)

Fiiiiiiire. ....Or more lately, maybe, just maybe, Earth or Wind. But still mostly fire. ....oh come on, look at me.

What weapon would you wield? (Doesn't necessarily have to fit in with the first question, so a mage could perfectly well use a dagger. I would if I were a mage >.>)

Dual-anything. Dual-daggers, dual-katars, dual-shortswords...minus the fact that IRL I have no stamina whatsoever. Dual swords would be okay, too, if that were actually plausible...but those are too heavy anyways.

And then maybe a few throwing daggers. Or bichawa; those things are nice, too. I used to like having my characters wield claws, but very few MMOs lets thieves wield them, and I'm not sure how practical it'd be to use them.

EDIT: Augh. 49.98 Aurum. Really now?

The first one's mostly what you'd play. ...Because I know very few people in real life who can carry around a sword and shield, or have decent accuracy with a bow...

The rest are mostly what you'd be.

Suzerain of Sheol 08-01-2012 01:35 PM

I tend to play gishes in most games that allow it, preferably of the plate-armored-mage-wielding-a-greatsword variety. I suppose that's, in a way, having my cake and eating it too. :p Paladins suffice in a pinch, though I did love playing an Arcane Warrior in Dragon Age.

Coda 08-01-2012 04:34 PM

Well, if you're talking about /me/... I *am* proficient with swords and staves, and I'm not completely crap with a bow or thrown weapons. I'm also proficient in the Perform skill, have reasonably good skill in Diplomacy, and have a knack for working with unfamiliar devices. So the real me would be a bard!

And for the real me, elemental alignment is water. Calm, adaptable, yet unyielding.

As for CHOICE of weapon, while I'm reasonably proficient in a pretty broad selection, I'm most effective with a staff. I'd take a sword if a suitable staff wasn't available.

Now, if you're talking about what I'd play in an RPG, that's different. I take spellcasters almost exclusively; it's a roleplaying exercise or filling a need in the party (or both) if I play anything else.

So I'd be playing a wizard. My choice of element is pretty variable; the wizard I've played most chose to specialize in ice and acid magic, and... actually wielded a shotgun for most of his career.

Gallagher 08-01-2012 05:17 PM

Coda sounds so amazing.

I usually play the Paladin or Archer types, but I would actually probably be a healer. As a general rule, I like being part of the team and not an attacker.

I don't count any of the ones you have slashed together as similar, to be honest. I suppose I favor water (not ice), but lightning is a favorite of mine, too. Same with earth.

Weapons? Nooo. Shield. Sword and shield, dagger and shield, staff and shield, axe and shield, club and shield... Give me a shield, and I'm good with whatever else I pick up to go with it. I'd rather dual-anything if no shield is available, or use a bow. Sometimes a crossbow.

It goes shield, bow, crossbow, dual.

My favorite swords are rapiers and shamshirs. In that order.

Espy 08-01-2012 06:13 PM

Suze, what you play is almost the exact same as what my friend plays, except maybe not full plate armor.

I've completely forgotten about that.

Ahaha, Gall...I'm making a Tank/healer character in Aion; I think I'm about to get my ass handed to me...

What class would you play in a typical fantasy RPG? (Mage, Fighter, Paladin, Assassin, Thief (yes, there's a difference), Archer, Alchemist, Bard, etc.)

I usually tend to play cleric/healer/support characters, though if I feel like kicking butt I typically go for mage or assassin characters.

What element would you be? (Fire/Lightning, Water/Ice, Nature/Stone, Air/Poison, etc.)

POISOOOOOON. If there is a character that specializes in poison, I will play it, even if it goes against every other preference I have. (Poison cleric FTW?)

What weapon would you wield? (Doesn't necessarily have to fit in with the first question, so a mage could perfectly well use a dagger. I would if I were a mage >.>)

I have trouble playing anything that isn't ranged. If it isn't a gun/bow, I either have to have special assassin magicks that dash me in, kill something, and dash me out, or else I have to wield a staff that shoots sparkly bananas.

Lucid: 08-01-2012 08:15 PM
