I saw the movie. Weird stuff, but clever. ;)
|
ooh, is the movie on Netflix?
|
No idea. Don't have Netflix.
|
eh, it's ok. i'll take a look ... eventually
|
how's everyone doing??
the weather here has been so bad DX to hot and smokey form the fires in the mountains DX |
i got a new book from the library... need to update my signature now... =)
|
The fires cover the entirety of the West Coast. It only just got a bit cooler here because I happen to be in the tiny pocket of the south western part of the province that got cloud cover. Sill hoping for the rain we're supposed to get.
I'm reading my super secret volunteer books now, so reading for Aug but not saying what. Hoping my other books arrive for September that I got for my early reviewers pick. Would also like to make a bigger dent in Vas. |
oh wow, Quiet Man - stay safe!
and i hope you're able to let us know soon what you're reading! |
Well the book I'm waiting for isn't secret. It's just not for sale yet. It's a youth book (I seem to be reading a lot of those of late) picture biography of Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein. Literally called "Mary Who Wrote Frankenstein." It should be arriving but I'm away from my house for another week.
|
ah. that sounds pretty cool.
and there's nothing wrong with YA books =) |
It's not my usual reading.
|
ah, gotcha. =)
|
Picked up a book at the used store that I forgot I has asked for. Somewhat serendipitous in that my program liaison and I were just talking about it. I'm a little scared of my list since I may have forgotten about my September book. I've decided to try and finish the books that i have half-read: Vas, The Princess Diarist, and Mrs. Dalloway.
I read half of Mrs. Dalloway in Uni, and can't actually remember but besides one line in which the titular character is yelling at another "My party! Remember my party!" |
Ugh. I may have to give up completely on one of my books. The author of A Manual for Creating Atheists has a serious superiority complex. I just read the lines, "Many readers won't heed my suggestion..." and "Thus, knowing that my advice will not be heeded..."
Like no. This is not the type of book that should be THAT opinionated. It should have been written far more objectively. And also should not be so repetitive and tedious. XP |
I agree with you. Doesn't sound worth it. I've tossed some half-finished books because it just wasn't worth the aggravation of getting through them. There are enough aggravating things in life already.
|
that sounds too frustrating, Kaderin. i probably would give up on it too.
i'm not sure if i'll make my reading goal this year... between HollyDay crochet and maybe doing NaNo... but NaNo should count as finishing a book... LOL! XD |
