I used to skip the kitty items if I had one, but at some point I started doing that too!

I tend to have better luck in spotting certain items in the crane game than a friend of mine here, so sometimes, if she doesn't have an item, and I see it, and I have tokens, I'll get it for her. I'm pretty good at the crane game... too bad that doesn't translate to IRL!

to be fair, real crane games adjust their odds of a win based on how much profit they're earning. ours is just flat out skill.

Well, our crane game plays off of percentages. getting it perfectly aligned will give you a 100% chance of success, or as close to it as you could expect. You could be off to the left with a 75% chance and drop it, then be off to the right with a 50% chance and get it.

I always grab right above the item. It feels wrong to grab to the right or left since it's not centered.

Centered is the best odds, and since there's no time limit, it's a good idea not to rush through grabbing things in our game.
REAL CRANE GAMES have computers that will alter the strength of the claws based around the parameters it's given. The owner tells them the average price of the game's contents, as well as what sort of profit margin they want to earn, and the game will adjust itself based on how many people are getting things out of it. If all your friends go on a big losing streak and you're the last in line to try, you might actually have better odds of winning because the game DOES have to give out a prize now and then. TLDR: irl crane games r the real players |

I've never played a real crane game in real life. I find it a waste of money since you rarely ever win!

Yeah pretty much. I wouldn't ever play after someone that pulled a prize (or god forbid, more than one) because wins just make them change the odds around.

I have a similar philosophy when it comes to slot machines in casinos...
If you're losing badly on a slot machine, move to one on either side of it, as the odds will more than likely improve. Just bear in mind, they won't put two "loose" machines side by side, but they might put two "tight" machines next to one another. This knowledge comes from the six months I worked as a table games dealer/slot attendant at a casino in south central Iowa. |

I only won once on a real life crane game. I got a cool owl toy that was in a cape and wizard hat. It was pretty sweet.
