I need a better angle picture but it's mostly the shell it has three sides -so a flat bottom it resembles a three sided football I kinda didn't put enough stuffing before sewing it so I gotta cut it back open and the wings are dainty lace they aren't sewing right so I think I am sewing them to felt to be stiff and then onto the shell
Then I gotta stuff the legs
And debating unicorn tail or no

Her birthday is July 4 but it's gonna be late I got a late start and I am not rushing it

On other note...
I'm still making unipoo too if I can find lavender felt :/

Kaderin Triste 07-04-2017 03:07 AM

I keep my eyes peeled! If I find any lavender felt, I will send it to you!

And yeah, I can see how the wings coyld be a problem.

Soon as I glue the eyes instead of tape plus add his hanging up string (for like a rear view mirror or something) she can choose what she can do with it..... it will be done :)

Kaderin Triste 07-04-2017 05:03 PM

Awww...it's so cute!

XoGizmooX 07-04-2017 05:08 PM

I ended up attaching the lace wing onto white felt they were unraveling alone

I think I am going to make little dolls or maybe like Pokemon and sell um on etsy or something

Kaderin Triste 07-04-2017 05:11 PM

That would be super cute! And depending on the size, you could do Christmas themed ones as ornaments!

UNITURTLE

Kaderin Triste 07-04-2017 08:13 PM

A winged uniturtle even!

Eyes glued string attached and he grew spots now to do the swirls on the horn he looks bigger than he is but he fits in my hand ^.^

Next up felt 3d pokeballs and they are going to have a button latch where they open / close and have a felt Pokemon inside to remove ^.^ ....probably key chain size

I have lots of plans felt phone character cases
Felt character coin purses
Etc etc etc

Thinking about maybe a felt patchwork quilt or like one of them t-shirt quilts with old band shirts and a matching shirt pillow

MonBon 07-04-2017 10:18 PM

Does that make it a pegaturtle?

Kaderin Triste 07-04-2017 10:32 PM

No because pegasus don't have horns.
It would actually be an alicorn turtle.

Den 07-04-2017 11:32 PM

So, it turns out I had managed to twist my cast-on stitches, and only caught it six rows in... meaning I had to rip back and start over from the cast-on row.

Kaderin Triste 07-04-2017 11:48 PM

Oh man, that sucks!

Den 07-05-2017 12:34 AM

I'm just glad I caught it early enough to be able to fix it.

Kaderin Triste 07-05-2017 01:00 AM

Yeah...depending on the project, I don't always start over. Like on my current mermaid blanket, I skipped a peg on accident about 4 rows in, but didn't realize it until 5 rows later...but because it's not super obvious thanks to the stitch pattern, I didn't bother.

Den 07-05-2017 04:00 AM

My perfectionist streak wouldn't let me leave it as it was. It would've looked weird once I got farther in. Super long mobius strip.

Kaderin Triste 07-05-2017 05:31 AM

Yeah. That makes sense. I can leave mine because it doesn't really have any really noticeable effect on the pattern. But I also have been known to frog projects that were half finished because of a small mistake at the beginning.
Usually, I only am super obsessive if I'm not making it for myself.

Den 07-05-2017 05:52 AM

Eh, I'm picky enough that even if it's for me, I'll go back and try and fix stuff where possible.

Death by Mirrors 07-05-2017 05:58 AM

Same here. If I make a mistake and I can notice, it feels to me as if everyone will notice too, because it's so blatantly obvious and bad and... (sometimes it helps when people are excited about my stuff even though I think "well, that line isn't really straight" or "I botched the pattern right here")

Perfection may be unattainable, but that doesn't mean I should never strive for it.

Kaderin Triste 07-05-2017 02:15 PM

Now maybe the big difference here is that people don't really see my stuff...
I mean. I'll take pics and post them on Facebook and stuff, but of my many "friends", I'm usually lucky to even get a single like. Soooo yeah.
And no one ever comes to my place so they don't see stuff in person ever.

Damies 07-05-2017 07:23 PM

-incoherent screaming-

Death by Mirrors 07-05-2017 07:32 PM

...I think the next craft-a-thon should probably be earplugs.

Den 07-05-2017 08:47 PM

I know how to knit "muffies" for headphones...

Kaderin Triste 07-05-2017 10:10 PM

Earplugs could be pretty difficult though... >.>

I mean...I have patterns for headphone cver type stuff and ear muffs, but not ear plugs...

Den 07-05-2017 11:33 PM

yeah... That would be difficult. Maybe next month's theme should be black holes? lol

Kaderin Triste 07-06-2017 12:01 AM

Hmmm...also not the easiest challenge unless a black circle is an acceptable substitute.
XD

Den 07-06-2017 12:33 AM

lol well... I know what we should do in October: Body Parts! :D

Kaderin Triste 07-06-2017 12:38 AM

YES!
I might have a plan for at least one item for that!

Den 07-06-2017 12:41 AM

I have quite a few. some are borderline creepy :3

Kaderin Triste 07-06-2017 01:10 AM

My main problem is that while there are hundreds of thousands of projects and patterns out there for most crafts, loom knitting is still not as popular...so it's WAY harder to find patterns. And I can't make my own patterns.

Death by Mirrors 07-06-2017 02:54 AM

Don't worry, I just reacted to the random outburst of screams. Making plugs by myself sounds like a tedious task when you can just grab them for a small fee at the store.

I can make my own patterns for bead stuff (with some trial and error) but I fear I'm not able to help with loom knitting patterns.

Kaderin Triste 07-06-2017 03:48 AM

Haha...I wondered if it was a reaction to the screaming.

Oooh...I used to make up basic beading patterns. But I wasn't a huge fan of beading really. Made a couple bookmarks for friends though.

Whoops! My phone is a butt.

Den 07-06-2017 04:02 AM

Beadwork is something I like to do, but I don't have the supplies I really want (IE: SHITTONS OF TINY SEED BEADS), and I kinda don't have the patience to do it sometimes.

Kaderin Triste 07-06-2017 04:08 AM

I only I'd know you when my mom died, Den. She did beadwork and had a crap ton of tiny beads in all colors of the rainbow. Matte and shiny and translucent, etc.

trystan830 07-06-2017 10:46 AM

so Den mentioned this thread in another one, and i thought i'd pop in and say hi to everyone!

so, here's this:

Username: trystan830 (but you can call me trys)
Age: older than most people think - 46
Hobbies: crochet (a LOT), reading... and writing, but i tend to only write in November for NaNo XD (i've also made some jewelry, but it's really only attaching charms to the fish hooks with a jump ring. also, does 'watching tv' count too? XD )

so *waves hi*!!

SparX 07-06-2017 11:48 AM

YAY trystan! I was wondering why you weren't here yet =P

trystan830 07-06-2017 11:49 AM

hey SparX! i hadn't heard of it until last night.... :D

SparX 07-06-2017 11:53 AM

You'd have to ask kaderin a bit more about the unoffical theme, but This months is mermaids =O
I'm excited your here =D

trystan830 07-06-2017 11:59 AM

ah, very cool.

the only thing i have on my immediate horizon after i finish my granny square blanket (which is almost done) is an octopus (that with some shoe-horning, fits into a CAL i'm doing over on Ravelry. XD )
