Speaking of which, I haaaaaate the assassin outfits from most games. How people move in stuff like that is beyond me.
EDIT: Like...how does this archer pull his arm back... |
There's no bowstring on that bow anyways Espy...but yes I get your point.
@Suzerain, I thought I knew what a rondel was, as it was a paladin exclusive shield in Diablo 2. And it was a fairly small shield as the game went...about the same size at a buckler. But I guess it's not really a shield XP |
XD There's no bowstring on most MMO bows.
Rondel...sounds familiar. Wasn't it like a punch dagger or something, too? There are certain games that I respect for the decent armor, like...Vindictus. AKA Mabinogi Heroes. And if I'm designing a character, I try make the person fit his job/type. |
Oh yea, Vindi did have decent armor. Anyways, Suzerain said a rondel was a small round metal disc that covered the joints in plate armor and the like.
Mabinogi itself is kinda funny. My main character has a cocktail dress, a robe over that, fights dual-wield, and has a mandolin strapped on her back. And the horse she rides is...fiery. Literally. So weird...
I never got to play Mabinogi itself. I love the character art on the webpage and all but...I wasn't ready to commit myself to playing something with aging characters.
You get to rebirth everytime your char reaches age 21. And the aging only gives you better stats as you get older.
Is the rebirth automatic? I remember reading you couldn't level up once you reached a certain age.
According to Wikipedia, there are two rondel (french word for small circle or something similar). The small piece that covers seam between the armour on the arm and chest (aka armpit) and the rondel dagger, which has a round flat pommel, and a similar guard at the bottom of the blade. If someone were to hit that pommel with their palm, I could see it being something of a punching dagger.
I can't really figured that archer out myself either. How does he hold the bow where it doesn't get tangled with other stuff? Especially since it appears there is a good deal more curly things after the string spots. Can we be merpeople in that game? One of my favourite game things to do is swim around aimlessly. :D (weee, Zora Link!) |
I sort of remember Perfect World having an aquatic race. But you can swim around no matter the race, and for my short time there I thought it was rather well done.
@Serra: ...Now who the hell told you THAT atrocious lie? You have to rebirth yourself, what you stop getting after you reach 21 is AP, not levels. AP are like...skill points. You get them via level up and aging.
@Quiet: No, it's not a completely free world; there are limits to where you can walk. Er...do you guys want screenies? o.O; |
I've seen adds for the game all over the place. Wasn't too interested in the but your class shots had merpeople in them. I wanna be a mer-person! (Is tired of having to make DnD adventures herself to play things she wants, and running the game tends to mean no PCs, so I get to play as an NPC for two sentences here and there. :().
Happy to give up land walking if I can just putter around underwater :), game talk of course ;). |
Sorry, I should have mentioned, yes, a Rondel is a type of dagger, too. I can't remember if it's coincidental that they have the same name or not.

-=What you're allergic to cats?...=- http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...ividerLong.jpg goodluck on your quest!... http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...otes/Stare.png http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...ividerLong.jpg -=It's alright, I'm allergic to you...=- |
Heh, thanks. I was actually hoping the event would bring some new sword items I could quest for, but no such luck. :p

I would like to see another bow. I only know of two, requiem and woodland archer, but I wouldn't mind something more substantial looking, or less flighty. |
Oh, there's another bow item? -must go see-
Requiem Knight has a split violin that looks like a bow, the the violin bow serves as the arrow. If you have two you can hold one in each hand.
I think I should probably add that, I want a violin...
Violin bow. It's this funky, split in half number with the bow string between the twirly ends. I like that the dagger looks like a treble cleff.
Just looked at the preview for that...I'm going to have to look for one now.
Sigh. Just checked on Disgaea 4 today and found out it isn't out until September 6th. Was hoping to get it for my birthday. *grumble*
Aww, I'm sorry to hear that :/ Speaking of I should add that to my "list" >.>;
-wonders when Suze's birthday is-
That would be the 25th of August.
That's...just over a month away. Hmm~
Don't you still have a pile of shrinkwrapped games to amuse yourself with until then?
Didn't know when your birthday was Sheol. That puts you smack in the middle of birthday season at my place ;). |
I do have a couple left. I'm thinking of starting up Mass Effect 2, but haven't motivated myself to dig it out of my drawer, yet.
-hides all my shrinkwrapped games-
I have a bunch of games that I bought and never got around to playing. I have very little motivation to play single player games right now >< |
I WANT THEMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! But I doubt my comp could play any of those. And HOMG. I just went to Best Buy (my dad was buying a Kindle) and I saw laptops. With NVIDIA graphics cards. >.<
I want one so badly. |
Desktops are better for games though :/ Laptops like to overheat even if they are on a table >.>; -glares at roommate's laptop-
My laptop seems almost designed to overheat. When the screen is opened anywhere past 90 degrees, it more or less covers the back exhaust. :|
My roommate's laptop vent is on the BOTTOM of the machine. It tends to shut off by itself because it overheats so much.
Mine does that, too. It's incredibly annoying. Other times, it gets too hot to even touch, which can't possibly be good for it. It honestly seems like my fan doesn't work half the time. It'll just sit there, completely silent, and slowly heat up without ever kicking in.
Cooling racks for cakes and cookies work great for overheating laptops. I haven't had major issues but I do keep track of how much air is circulating around the intake/outake, whatever.
Yeah, I try to just monitor when mine is getting hot and let it breathe when it starts to overheat.
Still, there has to be something wrong with it, the way the fan just doesn't work half the time. |
Yeah. Well, given the noise fans make when the break I'm guessing that's not the case. Maybe it's just feeble or put in a poor spot.
So, how fares the war, everyone? Did I do a good enough job making you all hate Maesha? Apparently not, since Serra's a loyalist. :p
...I'd totally be a loyalist too, if I could pick. >_> |
Methinks with all the concern about no one wanting to support the queen, was had a mass of sympathisers. I'm seeing more loyalists than rebels right now.
I think a number of people also went one and one if they had mules so they cancel each other out. Maesha's evil. She dies. ;) overheating laptops: I think that pretty much all laptops have the vents and air circulation gaps on the bottom because it's the only place with sufficient free surface area to put holes. My vent crawls up the back by the hinges a little bit but the air is almost always warmer than I would like unless I have it elevated at least 1 inch and free of any obstruction beneath the vents. I never use it on a soft surface either. Hard only. |
Hmm. I don't really like Ryuko, seems to whine a lot. And the fact that he waited 1,000 years to act, all while his people were enslaved. I would have picked loyalist, if I could have. Maesha's fun to write. :p
