What`s you current character?

Suzerain of Sheol 08-11-2012 01:16 AM

Well, I run our game, but I also play a modified magic-less ranger with an improved animal companion progression (equal to a druid's) who has an incredibly badass horse named Sicarius who eats peoples faces. He also has favored enemy (human) in a setting that is mostly humans. :p

Ultima 08-11-2012 01:50 AM

Heh, I used to play a dumbed-down D&D game with less "rules" and such with my family (me, my two younger sisters, my mom, and my Dad DM'd).
I'm not obsessed with it or anything, but it is fun. I'm currently trying to write my own, but it's been a bitch x.x

AHAHAHAHA ANYTHING ON JETIX. Except my parents disapproved of most of that.

Digimon was nice. I couldn't follow the plot, though. Tom and Jerry...Bugs Bunny...Powerpuff Girls...

I don't remember much.

That would be me as well. Though there's some sellfishness there too. I don't care what the cleric says, I want to be able to patch myself up from time to time. And it never hurts to be able to save the cleric when he goes down, or sneak up on the 'other' bad guy while the rogue is taking out the main guy.

OH. QUESTIONS FOR THE STAFFERS.

What class would you play in a typical fantasy RPG? (Mage, Fighter, Paladin, Assassin, Thief (yes, there's a difference), Archer, Alchemist, Bard, etc.)

I pick different stuff each time, but I like the ranger most. I'm most often a support character of sorts when I play, usually taking on back-up healing or tank roles. I'm liking bards more for that too. Numbers wise though, I think I've played more mages than other stuff across all rpg games. I mostly have DnD characters that are rangers.

What element would you be? (Fire/Lightning, Water/Ice, Nature/Stone, Air/Poison, etc.)

Water. I seem to lean that way. Pisces sign, and Water Pig in Chinese zodiac, love pools, (well, more fond of open water than pools unless there's a nearby shower).

What weapon would you wield? (Doesn't necessarily have to fit in with the first question, so a mage could perfectly well use a dagger. I would if I were a mage >.>)

A sword! I like swords, and I think it would be cool to use one though it would probably be a shorter sword over a long one. I already know how to use a bow and most firearms. ;). If I were a real-life DnD character I'd probably call myself a bard/ranger, early levels of both. (Being realistic and all ;).)

This is me playing video games. I'm a stickler for what a character would know when it comes to DnD but when it comes to consoles, I'm a horrible metagamer. Was watching my friends play Halo and getting their asses kicked while trying ot get past an anlien barricade. They're good players, but given they were dying every two steps anyway, what's the harm in going kamikaze? I grabbed the nearest almost-dead ghost (I love vehicles!) and did a few full speed figure eights all over the aliens. I died of course, but no more barricade!

I like shooters too, especially Time Splitters and few of my favourite tricks are to hold a lit stick of dynamite and charge into the nearest group of people. I do the same when on fire. I'm the only person I know that's actualy won the "Lemming Award" in Perfect Dark.

I play tabletop RPGs, although I play a variety of different systems, not just D&D. The game I'm currently in is Earthdawn, and I'm playing a ki mao scholar. (Ki mao are specific to the Cathay setting; they're like jungle elves with tiger-striped skin. Scholars are also specific to the Cathay setting; they go on quests just for the sake of learning everything and making sure the world is well-documented for history.)

Quiet Man Cometh 08-11-2012 05:22 PM

I basically play D20 rules and modify the flavour to what I feel like doing. My last adventure was Egyptian themed (gotta love treasure that tries to kill you!) and I was playing in a Victorian era version of Castle Ravenloft but it's all still d20 rules. I stick with 3.5. I like the system because it's easily adaptable to other things.

I stick mostly to DnD stuff though for tabletop gaming, unless it's one of my brother's euro-style board games. I love those! Fury of Dracula (former Games Workshop re-release by Fantasy Flight), Talisman (also Fantasy Flight re-release), and Tales of the Arabian Nights (Zman) are among my favourites.

Rem 08-11-2012 05:41 PM

I've never played D&D
I sat in on a couple of sessions once when I was friends with people that played, once even tried to join in but -- it's not my flavor lol, I just couldn't get into it. (Couldn't get into LARPing either, to the chagrin of my friend who took me to a couple LARPs and I literally just sat there watching everything >u>;;; idk I'm not an actor, I felt more silly than anything and it wasn't fun)

I like video game RPGs mostly myself, though I don't have the time to play as much as I used to

do you guys like pandas ? ≧◉◡◉≦

Suzerain of Sheol 08-11-2012 06:42 PM

Not particularly, but my mother is rather fond of them and we have a lot of panda statues and knick-knacks around the house.

Also,

No.

Possibly.

I like the qinling pandas more than the typical ones. Otherwise, I just see them around much too often.

I have a (relative) soft spot for ones that aren't black and white.

You mean your own rules or your own adventure? I was in the process of making a tiny "Werewolf" handbook to pass around to the people in my family to try since I'm the only one who's looked at the game. I've tried to write DnD adventures too, in full, and *that* took eons. Most of the time when I decided to run an adventure, I have a basic map, basic encounters with a tabs in the monster manual if I don't create the monster myself (even then I still use existing monsters stats for bases since it's easier that way) and I write down the barest details for battle. I just fudge the rest behind the DM screen, or make up on the fly. ;).

My only "active" character right now is my half-elf bard in an online game that has been going for a few years now. Cheats, lies, gambles, etc, but overall a good hearted guy. :). Currently best friends with the warforged in the group (game takes place in the Eberron DnD setting). Has a longsword he rarely uses because he's typicaly in the back using spells or magic items or his crossbow. He's a storyteller rather than playing intruments (though he can do that too) so that he can use a weapon and do his bardic music thing at the same time.

I have many other characters that are currently in stasis or not in an adventure right now.

Rem 08-24-2012 02:11 AM

Pandas are cute -- red pandas are cuter
But I'm more fond of black bears, if we're counting things from the bear family.
Wait are pandas bears? I thought I read once they weren't

...orrr maybe I'm thinking of koalas

Coda 08-24-2012 09:39 AM

You're thinking of koalas. Pandas are ursidae.
