*rolls around and procrastinates on finishing some fanart she did*

trystan830 11-20-2018 11:08 PM

Kaderin, you are an awesome string witch too!

Kaderin Triste 11-20-2018 11:11 PM

Lol. Yeah, I make some pretty fun stuff. Unfortunately, I have to have a pattern to work from because I just can't visualize how to make lace and shapes happen. So I'll never be as good as some string witches. But I can make some pretty cute baby animals...

trystan830 11-20-2018 11:35 PM

i use a pattern! all of my colorwork items are made from a grid that I follow,

true, i've made up my own patterns, but my shawl patterns use techniques i've snagged from all kinds of other patterns.

but if it's not one of the 5 patterns i made up - i'm using a pattern. or parts of a pattern.

I would love to do colorwork stuff eventually. But it kind of intimidates me a little. Just the constant changing of colors. But eventually, once I've tackled w handful of other things I want to get done, I might have to give it a try. I do have some kind of fun colorwork stitches in my stitch pattern books.

Ffffuuuuuccck. After searching for a perfect cat dress, I stumbled upon some on Etsy that are ALMOST perfect, but they ship from the UK, so customization/sewing time plus shipping time means it might not arrive in time. So now I wanna sew my own dress even though I have no clue even how to go about it...

I got into rock painting because of an ex best friend actually!!! Me and her did so many rocks together and she gave me several tips on what to do, how to expose colors, how to use spray paint and dry it, etc. It was so fun and I'd get rocks out of the yard and do it on those after washing and drying them correctly. I mostly did nature pieces, flowers, roses, trees, classic things like that!!! I love the idea of making your own special holiday cat dress, it sounds super fun and you can really customize it then!!! I have faith you'll get it done!!!

trystan830 11-21-2018 01:11 AM

woooooo!!! NaNo is done! =)

*never sews anything* *can't sew a straight line* *is scared to even make rice bags that's how little she sews and those don't matter if they're too big or too small*
Ah....thanks!

Also, that sounds awesome! It's always great to have helpful and supportive friends that can give advice and offer tips like that.

You ARE an awesome string witch. And the mother of Derpy.
Never forget that ^^

Kaderin Triste 11-21-2018 03:05 PM

Lol. That is a good point.
*gives Derpy a huge hug*

Inspire 11-21-2018 05:48 PM

I'm so glad to hear that Trystan, it sounds incredibly done!!! Also, Kaderin, it doesn't matter how much you sew!! What matters is that you're doing it and you like it and that it's a guaranteed hobby. There is no need to feel fear for something you adore, no matter how much you still have to learn. It's just like drawing, time and patience. Just imagine you just a little older, with many projects done. Just wait and life will reveal what you need to know to be the real you again. I don't see you as a scared being at all, I see you as an amazing determined being!!
