I'm doing rather well myself. I'm kinda dreading the trip I'm taking to Louisiana later this week, though.

My aunt is going to a leadership convention out there and wanted someone to go with her. *sigh* Somehow I always end up going on trips as a bodyguard/secretary/GPS. I don't know why my friends/family don't just get an iPhone and a switchblade or something.

Yeah I understand the switchblade comment. I have a friend from Australia that always gives knives as a Christmas gifts to all his female friends. I've got like 3 of them one of which he made himself.

He says it's so he doesn't have to walk us back to our dorms at night.

But hey, free trips?

Ooh, nice! I keep a small model chainsaw on my lanyard. It's not sharp, but it sure would hurt to be stabbed with it. It has teeth!

Well, the trips aren't always free. When I go with my friends, I have to pay my own way. My aunt is paying for this trip, though, just so as long as I drive through part of the trip...

Crap, I just realized this means I have to do laundry tomorrow.

I'm on the fence about wanting the trip to get cancelled. I mean, yes, it would be bad for another hurricane to go through New Orleans, but I kinda don't want to go on the trip. I'd rather stay home, maybe have a movie night with my hetero life partner this weekend.

History. I've got to finish reading Slave Narratives and write a short discussion of it...

*wrinkles nose* Ew, history. I can't stand how most everything we're taught in that subject is so one-sided.

Also, I just remembered another reason my trip might be cancelled. My aunt works for the Health Department and is a shelter leader when there's a hurricane. The governor has already declared a state of emergency, so she might be called in to help with the hurricane shelters.

AHhhhs...That would be a very important reason for it to be canceled.

I enjoy history, but that's because I love learning and with History you're always learning.

I much prefer humanities courses. They focus more on the lives of the common folk and the arts rather than the political happenings.

I had a popular culture history class it was GREAT!!!
