Not sure if it will help, but there's a little tweak you can do in the avatar editor to wear cross-gender clothing. Some outfits change looks depending on whether the avatar is male or female. If you select the item you want to wear with the gender that matches the version you want, and them swap the gender of the avatar, the item will stay the same. It's what I did for Kuja's purple chest plate thing. That's a female pose (the male version doesn't expose the midriff) so I put that one then changed the avatar to "male." At least, I think Kuja's a guy. Was never entirely sure.

All the more reason Garland threw him away in favor of Zidane. Quite sad but at least the brothers made up in the end.
