So what are the odds of having a temporarily avatar save system?

Like a long list code of the save file for that avatar? And by using that code all the items in their same position will be equipped as long as those items are in your inventory.

So sort of like a avatar slot saver, but minus all the fancy gizmos and just provides a code dump that users will have to take and save themselves in order to maintain and keep their avatars. Or even share them with other people who want to use a avatar or for contests.

This would be very useful even alongside a avatar slot system because of the sharing aspect people could do.

Actually the system can TECHNICALLY already do that, on the backend. The problem is that there's a lot of interface issues that crop up trying to figure out the best way to present the feature to the user. Toho and I had a fairly lengthy discussion about this recently and it's part of the avatar editor updates we mentioned.

So how would a method like I describe work out?

Press a button to get the avatar's layer code, and all the code is dumped into a embedded code box.

Code:

Like this
Then you just tell the users to select all and copy it and save the code somewhere on your computer like notepad or word. Then when you want to use that avatar you press the button next to the code button with a feeding button that you feed the code to.

So
1. Get code via button
2. Copy it/Save it/Share it.
3. Use Code in separate box option next to the button the code button is located at.

Oh. You meant like THAT. I misunderstood.

That would be... substantially harder, and I'm not certain it would actually be desirable.

At a very minimal technical level, the editor already does something like that behind the scenes when you make changes, but the details are personalized to the specific copies of the items in your inventory so a simple copy-paste wouldn't work for anyone other than yourself, and even then it would run a fairly high chance of having mysterious errors if you've made changes to your inventory (like trading away an item and getting another copy of it back).

There's also other reasons I don't think we want to do that, but... not going to get into that here.

Okay so there goes that idea.

So now what about a avatar image dump.

Basically it's a capture of your current avatar with all the items on it. Sort of like what you see when your in the creator, which pose it is in the image, item name, position. Then sort that into a image/list.

Sort of like (but with the avatar in it.)

You just press a button and the system just copies the setting into one easy to go file that someone can then save the picture as a .jpg or something onto their computer and or have a option to upload it to another site to save and share it.

Hmm. Interesting. I don't know that we'll do that exact thing, but there is a considerable amount of avatar saving enhancement planned in the avatar editor update. I believe it shall satisfy most needs in that regard.
